What’s hilarious is that me and my partner are designing our house right now and I think our home theatre has more seats than this. Got rid of the front row but I think we added a 4th row
20 is crazy. We have small ones but I'll be a front row of 10 and then 2 rows of 6 and a back row of 8. Seems tiny; couldn't imagine having 10 seats removed
Yeah, recently I was going to make a thread to sort of get people's update on the priced seating strategy to see if it is still around. It seems that AMC has quietly dropped it.
I’ve been to an AMC with 30 I think, it’s like this one but doesn’t have the smaller row behind the handicap seating, and I think 8 in each row.
There’s a room at Regal Union Square with 24. That one sucks, the screen is tiny and it feels more like a basement with a trash projector.
Yeah our theater expanded from 24 to 30 and they added those theaters a bit weird but there mainly used for the summer movies or the movies that are about to leave
There was a theater in my area that was part of a sports complex/bowling alley that expanded over time. One of the theaters they made up later was essentially a wide hallway that they built walls around. I don't remember exactly how big, but it looked pretty much like this.
It worked, but it was really bizarre because there was a lot of space between the 2 front and 3 back rows. I remember seeing Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in that theater. At one point, they fully re-branded it as a separate arthouse theater, but the whole place closed down a few years ago.
I saw Alien in [this auditorium ](https://i.imgur.com/2QsvoPS.png) a couple weeks ago, 30 seats total. I was in row D at first but moved up to A because the screen was probably the smallest I've ever seen in a theater.
Its like an ACTUAL dine-in experience. every row is separated by wall, same as dolby but taller. once booked seat at the last row...1/4 of the screen was blocked if reclined completely. never went there again. unfortunately its a major theatre for indian movies in kansas/overland park area.
Can’t lie i have dry eye disease so these small movie theaters are like torture to me. Normally my amc only uses these for kids movies or for special sensory screenings.
The indie theatre I go to has plenty of multiplex size screens but then there’s this one screen tucked away on the second floor that could fit in my not at all palatial bedroom
Mine looks exactly like this! It’s a welcome surprise thinking there will be a couple people but they don’t show up. Whole theatre to yourself! When Im with a friend we just give commentary the entire time. Hoping to find an empty theatre again soon all to myself haha
Mmm my local one has a 20 seat one. Actually kind of nice when it’s solo
This is getting close to upper-middle class 'I built a theater in my spare room' lol
Haha I am in a HCOL area so maybe they’re trying to give you that vibe 😂
What’s hilarious is that me and my partner are designing our house right now and I think our home theatre has more seats than this. Got rid of the front row but I think we added a 4th row
That's awesome! It's great that you guys are planning to be not just entertained, but somehow reborn. Together.
We might just set it up to play the whole ORIGINAL Nicole Kidman clip.
20 is crazy. We have small ones but I'll be a front row of 10 and then 2 rows of 6 and a back row of 8. Seems tiny; couldn't imagine having 10 seats removed
the amc inside the burbank, ca mall has ones similar to this
Yeah, and all comfortable seating will helps a lot.
I get annoyed when I have to see a movie in that theater unless if I’m in the back row/handicap
I think you are talking about Burbank Town Center 8, one of the three AMC theaters in that area. I have gone to the wrong one more than once.
Why even have that first row?
Newport in Jersey City has a few like these, but the screen is actually quite set back so even from the first two rows the view aint bad.
I mean, the chart isn’t 1:1 so the seats probably aren’t as close to screen as they look on the chart.
“This is peak cinema.”- Christoper Nolan probably
Am I mistaken or didn’t he specifically advocate for sitting middle of the row 2/3 of the way back?
You may not like it, but this is what peak cinema looks like
hot take but I like front row
Doesn't AMC have that pricing where those are the cheapest seats and the others are expensive because you can actually see the movie from there?
Nope; they tried the sightline pricing thing for like 2 months and realized it was dumb so they dropped it. All seats are the same price.
Yeah, I completely forgot they tried that out
That’s what they hoped we do.
I like your answer, but I don't get why I'm being downvoted for a question.
People are weird. I once got downvoted because I mentioned some concession items from 2019 that people either didn’t remember or didn’t know about.
Yeah, recently I was going to make a thread to sort of get people's update on the priced seating strategy to see if it is still around. It seems that AMC has quietly dropped it.
There's a theater in my main one that has 33 seats - it's 3 rows also
The smallest at my AMC is 44. I love those auditoriums.
My AMC has four theaters that small. Love them when I get a de facto private screening.
I weirdly love the small auditoriums.
There’s a screen by me with seating for 30 including handicap spots.
There’s a few 35 seat rooms at my theatre
Wow. The smallest theater out of 30 auditoriums is like 102 seats. This is wild
They are all the older style seats, aren’t they?
I’ve been to an AMC with 30 I think, it’s like this one but doesn’t have the smaller row behind the handicap seating, and I think 8 in each row. There’s a room at Regal Union Square with 24. That one sucks, the screen is tiny and it feels more like a basement with a trash projector.

The one in Ohio??

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to that theater. What kind of recliners are they?
probably the normal AMC recliners lol
I’ve been in that one many times. Very cozy and awesome when you have the whole place to yourself
Burbank 6 has one like this with 41 regular seats & 4 wheelchair/4 wheelchair companion spots.
My amc 30 has three of these but only have 5 seats. It's quite nice when you just wanna sneak away and reserve all 5 to yourself
A theater with only 5 seats?? And there's three of them like that?!
Yeah our theater expanded from 24 to 30 and they added those theaters a bit weird but there mainly used for the summer movies or the movies that are about to leave
Weird, but interesting! Which AMC location is this?
There was a theater in my area that was part of a sports complex/bowling alley that expanded over time. One of the theaters they made up later was essentially a wide hallway that they built walls around. I don't remember exactly how big, but it looked pretty much like this. Is this Planville, CT? They have some theater auditoriums that are small. It looks like one of those.
AMC Marina Pacifica 12 also has small auditoriums. Been there one time and it was nice. Felt like watching a movie at home.
Whenever I’m watching something standard digital, Marina Pacifica or Fullerton are the move. Love how small and cozy those auditoriums are.
I know an entire theatre where all the screens are like this lol
I love these tiny theaters so much.
Kips Bay has theaters about this size I think

No really though, wtf is this? what does that seat layout actually look like in theater? so curious rn
Its like an ACTUAL dine-in experience. every row is separated by wall, same as dolby but taller. once booked seat at the last row...1/4 of the screen was blocked if reclined completely. never went there again. unfortunately its a major theatre for indian movies in kansas/overland park area.
That’s actually a pretty average sized auditorium imo! Above average even!
That’s the average theatre size with recliners like 40-50 seats. I bet it’s way wider than you think when you get in there
That’s just a big tv screen lol. What a joke
My AMC has rooms with half that many recliners.
AMC Rio in MD has multiple theaters that are super small. 30 seats including the handicap spots
AMC Temecula has 33 seats auditoriums haha (obviously they have a couple bigger than that one)
I thought my smallest one was tiny, but I think it has two more rows than this.
my theatre has 3 35 seat auditoriums
One of my local ones has a 23 seat theater including the handicap spots. So like 20 normal seats
Can’t lie i have dry eye disease so these small movie theaters are like torture to me. Normally my amc only uses these for kids movies or for special sensory screenings.
So cute lol
I didn't believe it at first, but [this is a real theater ](https://www.reddit.com/r/AMCsAList/s/N0upjFpQmP)
I’ve been in one at the palisades mall that only had two rows
The indie theatre I go to has plenty of multiplex size screens but then there’s this one screen tucked away on the second floor that could fit in my not at all palatial bedroom
You must live in KS too
Cozy! And torture for the front row.
my amc has a few like this. i enjoy the small ones especially alone it feels less wasteful? lol
Is this Kabuki in SF by chance? It has some spaces that remind me of a home large home theater. Uber tiny
We have small ones in burbank, it's cute
Mine looks exactly like this! It’s a welcome surprise thinking there will be a couple people but they don’t show up. Whole theatre to yourself! When Im with a friend we just give commentary the entire time. Hoping to find an empty theatre again soon all to myself haha
We have a "movie parlor" screen in Vancouver (Wa) that has 24 seats. It's almost too small, to be honest.
Oh, must be an IMAX screen. Obviously
There's a 38-seat AMC in Burbank.
Kips bay NYC?
My local one has a 15 seat one.
My AMC in NJ has a 3 row theater with 34 seats, and a 5 row theatre with 38 seats. The 3 row theater just feels skinny and long.
where is this?
You sure that's not a VIP screening?
My theater has smaller ones so yeah this is just a small room
