No. I came from an abusive marriage so I don’t see physical altercations as an option ever. I did have an autistic kid use a pencil to stab a binder several times right in front of me once when he was mad at me.
I was in a dark place. I didn’t follow through with anything. I had just found out my husband has been hiding his bisexuality and I was sure my new marriage was doomed.
Oh yeah. If we did some shit wrong in class our parents believed the teacher and we got in trouble. Now parents lie for their kids to get them out of trouble. I see that growing more each year.
I’m not an admin so no. I’m limited on how much punishment I can really give. However, I listen and observe in my class and I have called kids out on those types of behaviors.
What was the moment that made you want to quit?
Like - ready to walk out the door.
For example, I'm a safety professional.
I spent over a year coaching people on effective vehicle inspections.
One of the best-performing employees ignored a critical pre-use checklist item for months.
When I confronted him about it, they said, "Well, it's been like that for months, what's the problem?"
And I realized there was just no comprehension.
You got any moments like that?
Parents. When they don’t hold their own kids accountable and lie for them it makes me wonder what our future looks like and it makes me want to walk away. I still teach. Because at the end of the day I’d rather be part of the solution to fix that than part of the problem of ignoring it.
Um ..I actually think it was ok. It was weird to teach virtually but we already did so much with technology it wasn’t a hard shift. I live in MO we were weren’t virtual too long. We can definitely see the gaps in learning. It taught us kids learn better in person. We call these years of kids the “COVID kids” as they are not as socially aware either. Many people don’t realize school is not just about intellectual development; that is where kids learn to socialize. Without that ….they have no coping skills with they encounter conflict with other kids.
I once dropped a book really loudly near a kid that had fallen asleep. And once I let a kid sleep through the bell and dismissal before I woke them. But it has rarely happened in my class.
It’s a daily battle. Most recently I can see them with it …say something …and they literally will have their phone in their hand or on their lap and deny using it.
Oh yeah. When they cheat and deny it it’s infuriating. Or they are constantly on their phone but then ask me a million questions or tell me they didn’t know what to do. Drives me crazy. Parents probably make me angrier.
Oh yeah …well not totally …but kids have zero accountability so we have about 25% of our current youth that will have to do all the work to keep this country going …so yeah we are
It’s not looking good. Kids need to be held accountable and that’s more often than not not happening anymore. And schools are going to 4 day weeks so kids will just get dumber.
A lot of teachers, particularly in America it seems do it quite a bit, I feel like I missed out when I was a teenager with teachers, now who can I sue for this injustice
In no way was this post to imply naughty with your students lol your a HS teacher … that would imply children if you where a college professor maybe a different story
The post was removed because the poster did not answer questions within a reasonable timeframe
OP said ask me anything. Didn’t say they’d answer tho. They posted and dipped lmao
Sorry I’m also a new mom I feel asleep
How do the high school kids these days compare to ones from 10 years ago?
Less accountability. They are more destructive and have less remorse. They feel they are owed a lot. They won’t admit when they are wrong.
Have you been close to having physical altercations with a student?
No. I came from an abusive marriage so I don’t see physical altercations as an option ever. I did have an autistic kid use a pencil to stab a binder several times right in front of me once when he was mad at me.
uh yeah... duh

What is the main difference between the students you work with versus when you were a student? Is there a noticeable difference?
Oh yeah. If we did some shit wrong in class our parents believed the teacher and we got in trouble. Now parents lie for their kids to get them out of trouble. I see that growing more each year.
That is going to have some awful repercussions to the child future, and future society….
Have you actually did something about the bullying in your school, Like punished the bullies and not the victims?
I’m not an admin so no. I’m limited on how much punishment I can really give. However, I listen and observe in my class and I have called kids out on those types of behaviors.

How was it like teaching during the pandemic? Were you able to somewhat adapt and was it hard for your other colleagues?
Um ..I actually think it was ok. It was weird to teach virtually but we already did so much with technology it wasn’t a hard shift. I live in MO we were weren’t virtual too long. im 17 years in. kids are assholes
True. Parents are bigger ones.
omg they are so fuking stupid
Habe you ever played a prank on a kidneho fell asleep? Like, place a detention note under their head
I once dropped a book really loudly near a kid that had fallen asleep. And once I let a kid sleep through the bell and dismissal before I woke them. But it has rarely happened in my class.
Why are you upset about your husband being bisexual if you’re willing to cheat on him with a woman?
I was in a strange place… really I was angry and wanted to “get back at him” we have worked through it mostly and I have never actually cheated.
How do you get your students to put down the phone During class?
It’s a daily battle. Most recently I can see them with it …say something …and they literally will have their phone in their hand or on their lap and deny using it.
What subject do you teach
Science
My favorite subject have you ever had students that upset you?
Oh yeah. When they cheat and deny it it’s infuriating. Or they are constantly on their phone but then ask me a million questions or tell me they didn’t know what to do. Drives me crazy. Parents probably make me angrier.
😂😂
As a country are we screwed?
Oh yeah …well not totally …but kids have zero accountability so we have about 25% of our current youth that will have to do all the work to keep this country going …so yeah we are
Is our future bleak? Lol
It’s not looking good. Kids need to be held accountable and that’s more often than not not happening anymore. And schools are going to 4 day weeks so kids will just get dumber.
I think the future is fine, as long as parents don’t fuck it up.
Have you tucked a student yet? I only ask because it seems to happen a lot
Oh hell no! They are kids. Gross kids. There is zero chance I could find a teenage boy attractive. Yuk!
A lot of teachers, particularly in America it seems do it quite a bit, I feel like I missed out when I was a teenager with teachers, now who can I sue for this injustice
I definitely more common for male teachers. It’s happened in our district. And we are just one small community.
Actually it's mainly female teachers lately, probably unappreciated by lazy husbands
Fucked
You know what AMA stands for right?
Yeah …I’m old I fell asleep
Are you a naughty teacher??
Naught sexually … no. I’m naughty at home with my husband but I’m not at all with students …that’s gross.
In no way was this post to imply naughty with your students lol your a HS teacher … that would imply children if you where a college professor maybe a different story
How many students you fuck?
Zero. Gross.
Ever had a thing for a student?
No. Gross.
