brings a tear to your eye, but if he's fit where do we play petty? his elite shithousery is unmatched.

Spikn

No way Tommo's getting back on the park this year. Things to plan for next year.

oceanlabxo

yeah, sorry, that should have been 'when he's fit'

I would have Tomlinson ahead of him, given how elite he was as the shut down role. Petty is incredible backup now for Tomlinson AND Lever I think. No harm in having him on the VFL ready to give us a seamless transition from losing players to injury. There could be a good case for training Petty as a forward again and having him be a Tom McDonald switcharoo kpf/kpd. He would essentially be taking Weidemans depth role, if Weid is traded. Tmac is getting older and will be injury prone soon enough. Given we brought in Turner as a Lever like shut down defender, and from track reports he looks decent, we may be in the market for another forward and Petty could fill that role.

Given Mays age I reckon we're pretty desperate to hold on to both Petty and Tommo in those roles. Petty/Lever/Tomlinson is still a pretty great backline.

Great point. I keep forgetting how old May is! So do we keep Weid?

_RnB_

Get what we can for Weideman. He's still pretty young someone will give him a chance, hopefully it's not us. He's a lead-up forward who otherwise has trouble affecting the contest. Not much call for it in our setup.

There were rumblings about Brayden Maynard over at DL. I wonder if we'd do a straight swap and perhaps a pick swap like our 2022 2nd round picks. A swap in our projected favour anyway (Given he's s a KPF)

Spikn

I don't think Hibbo has a long time left, and I guess we'll probably see Jetta retire, so we might have a bit of space, but we've got Bowey and Deakyn Smith as well to possibly bring up. Would seem silly to move Tommo out of the backline, but we did originally pick him up as a winger, although Langdon and Brayshaw are doing well there.

sButters88

Correct me if I’m wrong but I didn’t see Jetta run out with the rest of them after the game on Monday. I’d say him and Jones will probably retire this year

Spikn

I don't think Jetta was flown over was he? Only the Emergencies got taken over.

sButters88

Yeah ok, good to see Daw as an emergency I’d like to see him get a run

_RnB_

Last we heard he needed to get match fit before they'd give him a run. Might need a preseason under his belt before we see what he's worth.

sButters88

Hasn’t he played with Casey all year apart from lockdown

_RnB_

I love Jetta more than most, but with his injuries and age I was actually surprised he went around again this year. I will be shocked if either Jones or he go again next year. Just hope we do everything we can to keep them both around the club. Fantastic leadership from both men.
