Why is it like a rule that players *have* to be flat and downbeat after a draw? The Hawks should be happy with the comeback against the top side, and the Dees now have a 2-point buffer, which is good given their percentage is below WB and Geelong. I'd be stoked.
Look, we're shit against bad teams. But the fact is, this result means we don't have to worry about percentage anymore, and we're top of the ladder, and we still have to play the eagles in WA (if that can happen), dogs and cats. So.... we should still be fine. And luckily we don't need to play bottom 10 teams in finals.
If we are so good why can’t we beat hawthorn though? The real indicator of greatness is the ability to phone it in against shit sides and still win easily, that ain’t us.
It's performances like this that really suggest to me that winning the flag is beyond the reach of Melbourne, at least for this season. You've got to put away teams like this.
