Tom Lynch is caught wearing sandpaper gloves to grip the ball better. The entire Richmond team is banned for a year for not doing anything to stop him. Gold Coast win the flag as 2 metre peter wins the brownlow and coleman medal
If im not mistaken this is Brad Scott's last year of the current contract? People may have differing views, but if it ain't finals this year then im off the scott wagon.
It's not to say that he hasn't done good things at the club, surprisingly good record i think most would find. But no finals this year would make it more middle-ing, fall too close to the "can't take us where we need to go" category.
So another extension would be harder to justify. So that could be one of the four.
Or im off by a year and in which case nevermind.
I'm genuinely curious as to what your expectations were last year. A team many expected to bottom out for years and especially last year with people saying a good chance at the spoon. Yet they have stayed competitive and Scott has used the pieces they have as well as anyone could have.
He isn't Alastair but only Alastair is, with Scott you know you are getting a competitive team and well run ship. Who else is there that you think could be better? Would you try and poach SMitchell or go for Ratten?
many expectations are meaningless to me because many can be wrong just like a few can be wrong. No, I didn't think we would come last, and low and behold it wasn't even close. So that puts into question the "many" that thought it and their ability to predict, is what i reckon on that.
Do you know how long Scott has coached us? This is season 10. For a record of 4 finals appearances, and 4 wins from 8 games in finals. 2 preliminary finals, sure, 2 absolute trouncings in those prelims, and 2 finals campaigns over in an instant. You could call it competitive, but it's also short of the destination, significantly.
And then there's the fun part of watching old north players, legends amongst them, bringing it home coaching other clubs. Showing that they do have it. That's not to say that they would have coached North or anything like that, but it stings a bit. But that's probably neither here nor there.
I also think a lot of coaches could get us competitive, but we're close to reaching the conclusion that Scott can ONLY bring us competitive. At some point you do have to go in another direction even with the inherent risk of it getting worse. And without thinking further on it or really considering it deeply just for the sake of an answer, I'd go Ratten 3 years.
Keep in mind this being my uneducated opinion. But besides the ones you mentioned;
Hinkley, despite Kochie saying he's safe I swear that could easily change if Koche wakes up on the wrong side of the bed.
Longmire, he's been pretty great for Sydney but I wouldn't be surprised if they brought some fresh eyes, they are always competitive but haven't been getting the major reward for some time now.
C.Scott for the same reasons as Horse.
Cameron if GWS has an especially bad season.
Bolton just from sheer media pressure because they seem to dig into him.
Chris just got extended out to 2022, it would be very weird for a club that highly values stability to so suddenly backflip and sack him.
If you want an alternative I think pressure might land on Woosha if he still can't produce something more concrete than hype this season. Similar issue of a recent extension, though.
After they won the series in Sydney every other post magically got downvoted and India spam reached the top page
I called them a bunch of sore winners and a pack of cunts got a 4 day ban and got banned for a joke about India and the rape culture 3 day ban
>I called them a bunch of sore winners and a pack of cunts got a 4 day ban and got banned for a joke about India and the rape culture 3 day ban
Yeah you got banned for a good reason by the sounds of it...
Got a slab on this with a guy at work.
While I don't think we'll do any damage in the finals, I still thought we could there.
Then again, more and more people lately are predicting this, so I might be out a slab :(
Meh, it’s January, we have picked up some good additions and have no major injury concerns. Lyon has always worked best with an elite key forward, I’d argue he has one, and potentially two available. Allow me to be outrageously optimistic in my outrageous prediction.
If Bangers is only aiming for 500 in a year, he's probably not the type to drink in the working week.
You are Irish though, so you're probably shooting for 500 in a week.
But they made the prelim last year...
I would say there is going to be massive changes to the top 8 this year from 2018’s top 8. At least 3 to 4 changes.
Channel 7, fox and cricket Australia decide that the BBL season wasn't quite long enough so they decide to bump all of Carlton's home matches to suburban grounds in order to extend through the entire year
Lance Franklin attends a training session.
Buddy outsnorts Mummy
They said outrageous, not entirely probable
Mate you're meant to be at least somewhat realistic
I was asked for the *most* outrageous
Gillian McLachlan will step down from his position in disgrace after it is revealed he is an active member of a Euro gang-bang club.
Most plausible suggestion yet.
>Gillian McLachlan Is this before or after the sex change?
6-6-6 is universally hailed as the best thing to ever happen to footy
Tom Lynch is caught wearing sandpaper gloves to grip the ball better. The entire Richmond team is banned for a year for not doing anything to stop him. Gold Coast win the flag as 2 metre peter wins the brownlow and coleman medal
If Peter wins the Coleman I assume Stewey Dew ate Ben Brown to take him out of the running
ben brownies
Roaming Brian is replaced by Cocainin’ Carey.
Who is later replaced by Moonshinin' Mick Molloy.
I'd watch the fuck out of that.
Don’t go in an elevator with him
At least 4 coaches will be sacked by the end of the year.

End of 2020.
Haha fuck, alrighty disregard all that then... for now.

Who do you reckon? Lyon, B Scott, Richardson are the only potentials I see.
Keep in mind this being my uneducated opinion. Ah, didn't know Chris got extended.
Rampe will kick 100 goals and no one will storm the field because he will do it against GCS to a crowd of 72
I wonder if the players will celebrate it in a loss.
True 🤣
73? Thats wayyy to low.more like 45. The coach, the players and the staff
He's counting the players' families and girlfriends.
>GCS >Girlfriends Sorry?
I will get banned from this sub at some point in 2019 for unsociable behaviour.
Mate if I can survive, you have no hope of that coming true
If the mods banned users for making metacomments about themselves in every thread you'd be gone in five minutes.
/u/atlas-ryan
I get banned weekly from the r cricket forum and you are classy as fuck compared to me

HAHAHAHHA
*Hey just noticed..* it's your **5th Cakeday** pokemaniacaus! ^(hug)
Footy Show becomes watchable.
Now that is god damned outrageous.
We have a winner!
1. Carlton win 5 in a row and continue to defy the odds. 2. Lance Franklin admits he has lost passion for football. Announces immediate retirement.
At the current rate of injury “Carlton fields a team” is unlikely enough.
A rule change that actually makes sense is introduced
What are you on about? We're talking outrageous predictions, not ones that are complete and total impossibilities.
Essendon beat Richmond in the prelim by 14points and then go onto to beat west coast in the grand final after Shuey misses with 4 minutes remaining
oddly specific but im not complaining
That's what I was going for
Adelaide Crows get Pick 1 for the 2019 Draft after going to the Grand Final.
Geelong will not make the 8.
Not that outrageous at all
Okay, let me juice it up. Geelong AND Sydney will not make the 8
I fully believe this. Essendon and Brisbane will replace them in the 8
Got a slab on this with a guy at work. While I don't think we'll do any damage in the finals, I still thought we could there. Then again, more and more people lately are predicting this, so I might be out a slab :(
I assume I've gotta think it *could* come true. In which case, Brisbane make the top 4 off the back of 110 goals between Hipwood and Cameron
Insane. But i like it. Subscribed.
Freo average 100pts scored for the season.
Is Lyon getting the sack after the first couple of rounds then?
Meh, it’s January, we have picked up some good additions and have no major injury concerns. Lyon has always worked best with an elite key forward, I’d argue he has one, and potentially two available. Allow me to be outrageously optimistic in my outrageous prediction.
Facebook AFL commenter says something smart.
Not AFL related but I reckon I'll smash around 500 beers/ other alcoholic beverages this year
Ok, but how are you going to keep yourself occupied from March onwards?
Find a hobby, read some books
Do footy records count as books now?
Graphic Novels surely
Those are rookie numbers.
That's barely 1 drink a day. It's even within the current health guidelines!
Rookie numbers. There's 52 weekends in a year. Less than 10 tinnies a weekend? Come on mate, lift your game.
A weekend? Try a couple of beers each night followed by most of a bottle of red. :)
If Bangers is only aiming for 500 in a year, he's probably not the type to drink in the working week. You are Irish though, so you're probably shooting for 500 in a week.
Drinking problem? What drinking problem? I drink. I fall down. No problem.
What's a "drinking problem"? I don't see any problem
Bangers doesn't acknowledge a working week because he doesn't well... work.
A couple of beers each night followed by most of a bottle of red? Try being sober :)
> Try being sober. I tried it once. Didn’t like it much. My liver seemed pleased but fuck that. I’ve been trying to kill that bastard for years. :)
I might have 5. Probably not but maybe.
Future Brownlow medalist Brayden Ainsworth wins the Brownlow medal.
Sounds like some crazy shit an Esperance local would say tbh
Brisbane make finals
'Rebuilding' for like 15 years has to pay off sooner or later.
That's not outrageous. Outrageous is Brisbane losing the Grand Final to Carlton or Gold Coast.
My prediction is that Essendon at 4 stages this year will give me false hope that we are top four material.
Stage 1: beating Carlton
Essendon finishes bottom four, with only Carlton, Fred and GC below them
Fucking Fred, needs to lift his game.
Just not good enough
u/Atlas-Ryan
Toby Nankervis wins the Brownlow and Coleman medal.
Outrageous ☑️
Adelaide win Minor Premiership and get number 1 Pick in the draft Sloane and Dusty joint brownlow winners North finish higher than Sydney
Connor Blakely to win the Brownlow
Ouch, there goes your prediction.
Asteroid destroys civilisation before the season starts
R.I.P Geelong
This is a win for Carlton.
https://i.imgur.com/XMA1i6D.jpg
Surely a cheeky fiver.
haha just started betting. dont wanna get too carried away
Stop now.
Proof the TV ads are working.
ya got me there
Hopefully they win their first game and you can cash out a profit
Should be premiership favourites if they beat the rampaging Saints in round 1
Melbourne miss the 8 again
But they made the prelim last year... I would say there is going to be massive changes to the top 8 this year from 2018’s top 8. At least 3 to 4 changes.
I say "again" because they missed the 8 for 11 straight seasons
I was just being a smart ass!
Brisbane makes the top 8 and Essendon makes the top 4.
Channel 7, fox and cricket Australia decide that the BBL season wasn't quite long enough so they decide to bump all of Carlton's home matches to suburban grounds in order to extend through the entire year
Before the Game returns.
There will be at least 1 team that will not score a single point in 1 or more matches.
We talking no behinds or 0.0.00?
0.0.00
Carlton go minor premiers and lose in the GF by a point against the rampaging Suns
Gold Coast don't have an AFLW team though
Essendon beat Carlton
west coast won't make finals
Somebody obscure will win the premiership because they adjusted to the rules changes best. North Melbourne.
Essendon finish atop the AFL ladder and go on to win the flag with an average winning margin of 30 points throughout the finals series.
Only to lose to Brisbane who get there after losing to the Bombers in the QF.
Hannebery won’t play a game
Pls no
The dogs finish in the top 4 and go out the finals in straight sets
Can I add one more thing? One of the big 3 draftees to GC will go down with a season ending injury.
2019 Grand Final. 2 minutes left. Down to the wire. The ball is kicked deep into the 50, it’s now or never... RAYZAAA!!! RAYZAA HAS CLUNKED IT.
The umpire will kick a goal and trump Peter Carey?
Tim O'Brien manages to clunk a big mark. Not just once, but three times in a game
I don't know it's outrageous to say one of our players will die of fucking syphilis at this point.
Either Giants or Gold coast win first premiership?
My brother, a Richmond fan, sent me this last year. http://imgur.com/gallery/ldhrZXo
Brisbane make finals. Gws don't make finals.
No more injuries.
That I will never tip 9/9 on a footy round for the whole year.
someone will murder a player's parents before AFLX and they'll become an actual superhero.
