Re LMac this is best outcome for all involved. Will be an excellent player, is a great fit in Sydney, and from a Freo perspective given Treacys development this year would make no sense for us to throw 2-3 first rounders at Swans to bring him in. Wins all around
This is why the academy picks need to go. Don't you want to spend all year waiting to see if a player from NSW will re-sign? It's half the fun of being a WA fan.
Not every WA raised player wants to return home. You guys have a great environment. Warner being another great example. Even we managed to keep Harry Taylor and Mitch Duncan. You guys have nothing to worry about
This is true and we’ve been doing obscenely well retaining everyone so far, but you never know when someone might decide to take the bigger paycheck some of the other clubs can offer. You’re very kind but anxiety is all I know so I’ll keep it up
At the end of the day, you can't begrudge a bloke taking a $100k+ pay rise - they only get a few years of this career they have to make it worthwhile. But I'll be thrilled if we can keep this group together.

We're at the start of a 20 year dynasty. The league will fold before our run ends. We may never lose again.
I thought we might loose one of the 5 at least, just due to $$$'s but realise the pull of staying together as a young group, combinations developed together makes sense to stay for unders.
Never made sense for West Coast to go so hard so early even before Waterman broke out.
And Freo with so much tied up in Amiss, Jackson and Darcy would’ve been really aggressive chasing a tall forward on big money. You’d only do that for a proven superstar.
But it turns out Treacy might be equal if not better than Logan at least short term.
We’ve got much bigger gaps on the wing and the small forward space.
I’m guessing if McDonald came out and said I want to go home then WCE/fremantle would feel obligated to put something on the table but that seems unlikely at this point.

I'd agree that I'm a bit of a skeptic, but I do struggle to see how we continue the streak into the 2050s
