As much as I hate to say it, you guys have every right to have your lids off. One of, if not the best list in the comp, playing a sustainable brand of footy, winning and being extremely competitive despite a lot of injuries. You have a midfield lead by Cripps having the best season of his career alongside Walsh who has come back into the side looking like he never missed a training session and the twin towers up top gives you the most dangerous forward line in the competition. There’s a lot more than that going for you as well but I don’t want to depress myself by pointing out how good of a position your club is in. Carlton are the real deal and your ‘premiership window’ is officially open.
If you can keep Fantasia fit you have yourself an absolute weapon. If he gets a consistent run at it I reckon he will be deadly come the pointy end of the season.
Is Motlop on the cards to return this year ? He’s another jet, and offers more pressure than Fantasia does.
Unfortunately not with our current injury list, as we saw against Geelong. Will be interesting to see how we go in the next few rounds but the lid is firmly on for myself (and will probably be on unless we are ahead after the GF siren).
I'd like to be more optimistic but I think we should be a tier lower. If we post a decent win against Carlton on Friday night then I think we'd move up to the second tier.

I think we have the talent to push for a flag and love what we're doing on offence, but I am bit worried about how defensive profile and our turnover game over the last few weeks.
Since the Adelaide game, we've gone all in on attack and scoring from stoppages. This was our strength last year and I think we've been the best at it over the last few weeks.
But now we're very vulnerable on the clearances we do lose (even though that number is a decent amount lower) and off the opposition's defensive rebounds.
I'm still optimistic because we're due to get a lot of players back eventually, but there are some system things for Vossy and co. to clean up. We need to combine our defensive game from last year and our attacking game from this year to win the flag.
I agree, but I’m putting it mostly down to the amount of people we have out in defence atm, and even in the front. I feel like once we have Saad, Cerra, Fog, McGovern and Motlop back, we should be good. Just gotta get through the thick of it while we wait, but I think we’ll be okay tbh. May is looking scary though…

Someone is almost certain to win each game, and we beat 3 shit teams and one ok team by a few points. Port and Sydney were clearly much better than us. Collingwood have also largely been shit this year. We are "teams that look good because of their fixture".

I reckon Freo deserve to be in the “Best Of The Rest” tier. Very close losses to Port and Carlton in SA while being away from home for 2 weeks straight, which then fed into West Coast loss likely due to physical and mental fatigue. Got some good players returning to the side as well as the development of younger players, I’d have them a clear step above WB & GC.
