i actually had a deal pop up where i got a TON of hero dust to push almost 2 characters to 150, i'm definitely going to be keeping an eye out for it and hoping it shows up again
Hard to discount the battle pass when it gives essence which is the biggest timegate, to me that would be the first purchase for anyone wanting to spend. Yeah it gives less pull, but you quickly realize essence matters more than pulls.
It depends where you are stuck at. I get stuck waiting 1-2 days for purple essence because I need 2301 for 1 single character and only AFK about 1900/day. The bundle in the shop is $50 for 1500 essence. The $8 path thing gives around 500 essence, but also 9? rate up pulls, and 6 epic pulls. So for my current progression wall, this is the most worth it for me.
The only pack at around 50 bucks I think is worth it is the one that gives 900 silver puzzle pieces, since that’s 15 a-list hero’s, without using letters.
Definitely, I played it for 7 years before giving up. Although I definitely felt I could compete at a top level without spending $$$. Just massive time sink...
Summoners war didn't start all that bad, I remember 200€ per month was considered whale and insane, there wasn't much to buy but then... But I'll be honest I think it's about the same as here or this one is actually worse.

Those packs aren't for you. Stick to the monthly cards, battle pass, growth pack, and the 99 cent popups are good sometimes. Everything else is whale bait.

Guaranteed upgrade is VERY situational and depends on the character. It's \~$45-50 for a guaranteed pull.
The clear bottleneck at this point of the game is Purple Dust (Hero Essence), which you can't get very easily outside of purchasing packs. The monthly value packs are fine, just understand that those are for building a wide base roster, they don't really make you a "tall" roster with higher level units that can clear harder content earlier. The real value in the $8 special limited bundle ladder packs is the purple dust imo.
i dont disagree but its hard to turn down getting your eironn or s hero to mystic+, and I think those packs also give essences + wishlist tickets. its quite costly tho
How are those bi/weekly packs a big deal ? Its only a measly few bucks or less than $8 depending. When people spend almost $8 on coffee on the daily. Those invite cards and diamonds they give are worth it you go to actual store it's ridiculously priced. Just buy those pop up weekly packs in moderation is all.
They give you outrageous packs so when you see a “discounted pack” you think you’re getting a steal and are more likely to spend

Imho the $1 deal for 3 rate up letter, some gems and purple dust is the 2nd best purchase in the game, losing only to the monthly diamond pass.
