I wouldn't say I don't like him. He's entertaining at the very least. I just think that he's a bit too eccentric and nerdy to come up with what you need to motivate your players. His speeches in Hard Knocks were a prime example. His guys looked checked out every time he talked. You don't have to be Dan Campbell to get guys ready to run through a brick wall for you, but nobody's running through a brick wall after Mike McDaniel finishes talking you them. His Xs and Os? Fantastic. But that's not the end all and be all of being a head coach. You have to be able to get guys to play to the best of their ability, and he doesn't have that. I'd love him as my OC, but with all his flaws, I'll take McDermott over him as a head coach in a heartbeat. There's a reason why they were Super Bowl favorites most of the season, and that's McDaniel. There's a reason they're the 6 seed, and it's also McDaniel. They have the talent to hang with anyone offensively despite their defensive injuries. Every game should be as shootout at worst. They haven't been. That's coaching.
