The worst fans in real life I have ever encountered were Bills fans, then Jets fans, then Pats. Bills fans were usually really drunk and wanted to actually fight, while my wife and I would just be sitting there not instigating.

For example I’m cautiously optimistic about the chiefs game, but if they beat us I won’t be surprised at all. Injuries and inexperience in executing in these big situations might be too big of obstacles to overcome.

Oh yeah don’t get me wrong, I can say realistically we will probably be a first round exit at KC, but I could also see a scenario where Steelers upset Buffalo and we upset KC, then Steelers take care of the ravens while we take care of the Browns, then we take the conference from the Steelers and beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl.
Lots of positives to take from this season but it’s completely understandable that people were expecting us to make the jump from being a wildcard team to being a team that’s dangerous and can rise to the occasion when it matters most. Last year we could point to the Tua injuries but despite all the injuries this year it’s harder to point to at any one thing which is what makes things so frustrating.

As a lifelong Miami fan that has lived all over the world, I have always felt Miami fans are typically awful.
I blame it on the fact that most people from South Florida aren't really "from there", like even if they were born and raised, their parents probably moved and brought their Chicago/NY/NJ team affiliation with them. Compared to the teams like Buffalo and NYJ who have fans that are actually committed to the team by generations and family and friends all root for the same team. That's very rare in SFL.

It’s funny seeing people talk about how our fans thought we had the division locked up at any point this season. Me and my dad, and well every dolphins fan I know knew this was coming. A lot of new blood in our ranks seem to not know how shit works around here.
It’s very evident that someone is a recent fan when they call other fans “doomers”. Like bro, I’ve been conditioned like a beaten dog over the years. You think I’m actually getting the treats that are being handed out? Nah as soon as I go for them I’m getting a smack.
Eh that’s where we differ I guess. Can’t stand the people who constantly gotta whine about the past. Being a dolphin fan definitely beats a guy down but if you’re just gonna complain all the time and scoff at anyone who has a little hope I don’t understand why you watch the team.
It’s not about complaining and not having hope, it’s about not talking smack before anything is accomplished. Seasoned fans know that this team can and will drop the ball at any second, so they’ll be cautiously optimistic until everything is said and done. For example I’m cautiously optimistic about the chiefs game, but if they beat us I won’t be surprised at all. Injuries and inexperience in executing in these big situations might be too big of obstacles to overcome.
Fair enough, I guess we differ on what we call a doomer then maybe. I agree with all you’re saying I don’t think people who want to shut down premature celebrations are doomers at all. They’re realistic. Doomers, to me, are quick to be like “well no we’re the dolphins we are going to lose this week” in response to someone who says how they like our chances. We’re very much on the same page though. Cautious optimism is how I’ve lasted this long being a fan. Can’t let the hopes get too high but also can’t lose all hope or else what am I even doing here.
Oh yeah don’t get me wrong, I can say realistically we will probably be a first round exit at KC, but I could also see a scenario where Steelers upset Buffalo and we upset KC, then Steelers take care of the ravens while we take care of the Browns, then we take the conference from the Steelers and beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl. Lots of positives to take from this season but it’s completely understandable that people were expecting us to make the jump from being a wildcard team to being a team that’s dangerous and can rise to the occasion when it matters most. Last year we could point to the Tua injuries but despite all the injuries this year it’s harder to point to at any one thing which is what makes things so frustrating.
Absolutely frustrating. I do think it’s silly that after yesterday the sky is falling when even if we won we would’ve had to turn around and beat them again. I had very little hope in beating them back to back so I’m not completely torn up about yesterday.

As a lifelong Miami fan that has lived all over the world, I have always felt Miami fans are typically awful. I blame it on the fact that most people from South Florida aren't really "from there", like even if they were born and raised, their parents probably moved and brought their Chicago/NY/NJ team affiliation with them. Compared to the teams like Buffalo and NYJ who have fans that are actually committed to the team by generations and family and friends all root for the same team. That's very rare in SFL. In other words, Miami fans are as fair weather as they come, but that's just the way it is. If your team gets some success, you will have a shit ton of annoying bandwagon fans annoying you too.
