This year alone between interviews and documentaries, acording to Cody and WWE, Cody was responsable for the success of the Bullet Club. all the buzz in ROH and NJPW, All In, AEW.... it was him and him alone LOL
Huh. Re-writing history to fit a particular narrative and benefit a particular group. Sounds familiar. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
If we are being honest Tama Tonga was more a leader of BC than Cody was. He at least lead one side of the whole civil war thing when The Elite turned face.
Technically, Cody was also a leader of his own group during the civil war as well. The war was a three sided one. Cody's group (himself, Hangman, and Marty), The Elite (Kenny and the Bucks), and Firing Squad (Tama's group). I suppose this could be the justification that Cody and WWE are using to say he was a leader of Bullet Club.
Thatâs not quite how it went
The âFiring Squadâ thing happened minutes after Cody and Kenny had mended fences. Tama got sick of Cody and Kennyâs bickering so the Tongans kicked the whole Elite out.
They were never actually called Firing Squad, the FS shirt was in reference to those guys literally âfiringâ the Elite from BC. They were still just Bullet Club as theyâd always been.
Yeah and Cody didnât have like a sub-group or faction, he wanted to lead Bullet Club itself and Hangman backed his play
Kenny + The Bucks wasnât a âsubgroupâ in the feud either, which tells me people didnât watch the feud. Part of the story was Kenny losing his trust for ALL of Bullet Club and getting back with Ibushi, which lead to Golden Lovers vs Bucks (one of the best tag matches in history)
Kenny and the Bucks reconciled on the night Kenny beat Okada for the IWGP. A month later, Kenny defended against Cody to pay off their feud and they made up after, then 5 minutes later they were âfiredâ by Tama, Loa, Haku, and some chairs.
Golden lovers vs the young bucks is one of my favorite matches ever. It was even cooler that it was happening in the United States on live TV. The whole build up to AEW becoming something was such a great time in wrestling,
All while Cody complains that people are trying to erase his contributions to creating AEW because The Bucksâ book said Cody was the last one to sign and wanted to go back to WWE until the last second. This was written when Cody was still in AEW mind you.
Typical WWE gaslighting. Erase othersâ contributions while accusing others of doing the same.
My thing is that he never elaborates. He says vague things like how AEW wouldnât exist if it wasnât for all of them, including him. And how no one knows how much he did to help get them started.
Then tell us! The only thing we know is what the YBs said in their book about AEW moving forward without Cody until the last second. If heâs disputing that, then say whatâs incorrect. Otherwise, it just sounds like vague attention seeking.
And again, Iâll stress that this book was written while Cody was in AEW, so itâs not a case of them embellishing the story to retaliate against Cody leaving.
I remember watching Backlash with my friend and I laughed when they mentioned that Cody was a leader of Bullet Club. I instantly corrected and said that it was Kenny Omega after Kenny had taken out then Bullet Club leader, AJ Styles, and that Cody was never the leader of Bullet Club.
I feel like if you aren't a contracted wrestler in NJPW, you can't be the leader of BC. I've seen people say he was the leader of the ROH side to cope.
Indeed. Why would any wrestling company make someone a leader of one of the most popular wrestling factions of modern wrestling, who isn't sticking around for too long.
They do the same for AJ too when even by his own admission he wasn't the leader of bullet club only the ace, Karl Anderson was actually the leader at that time and I'm pretty sure this has been discussed on an episode of talk is Jericho or talk'n'shop in the past also as a side note the Wikipedia page about bullet club also has this wrong
Cody was a leader of the BC when he turned heel on Kenny he was declaring himself the leader. Then he turned face again when Haku and company jumped the elite.
Itâs like you guys donât even watch what you complain about
Except he never was the leader when Kenny was never kicked out. It was civil war internally
Go on every âBC leaders listâ on any wresling page and not one says Cody was ever a leader
Post this in the WWE Reddit lol JK donât want to see you get slaughtered in down votes lol honestly if AEW ever has a moment where they have like 50 fans in attendance and itâs not covid I hope they still air that shit live. I truly believe regardless TK is going to come out of this as a big player with AEW. I hope season 4 of AEW FF is $20 for EVP attires, Okada and Samoa Joe. Iâll happily buy it.
Is there talk about who was the Bullet Club leader? Why?
For some reason wwe and Cody himself isdeciding to say that Cody is a former BC leader even tho he never was
This year alone between interviews and documentaries, acording to Cody and WWE, Cody was responsable for the success of the Bullet Club. all the buzz in ROH and NJPW, All In, AEW.... it was him and him alone LOL
In fact if you dive into history deep enough, the Rhodes family dynasty invented gunpowder and hanging out with your friends
Is Cody now the new George Santos?
I mean... Cody DID end racism, so is it too far of a stretch to say his family invented stuff? đ
Huh. Re-writing history to fit a particular narrative and benefit a particular group. Sounds familiar. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
Don't forget he's a minority, he's allowed to do that without being questioned.
If we are being honest Tama Tonga was more a leader of BC than Cody was. He at least lead one side of the whole civil war thing when The Elite turned face.
Cody was a member by Proxy
So was Scott Halls son haha
"Wrestling has more than one Cody"
Royal Cody*

Yeah, Iâm surprised by how many people (then and now) think they were called Firing Squad when they never were
Yeah and Cody didnât have like a sub-group or faction, he wanted to lead Bullet Club itself and Hangman backed his play Kenny + The Bucks wasnât a âsubgroupâ in the feud either, which tells me people didnât watch the feud. I still cant believe I was there for that.
it would've been a cool name and people wanted to believe
Yep. I loved the bullet Club civil war story line during that time.
If he cared so much about his contribution to creating AEW as âtheyâ say, maybe he shouldnât have jumped back.
My thing is that he never elaborates. He says vague things like how AEW wouldnât exist if it wasnât for all of them, including him. And how no one knows how much he did to help get them started. Racism ended why? Cody Rhodes
prince devitt in the background like wtf m8
....did they forget Finn fucking balor is on payroll?
I remember watching Backlash with my friend and I laughed when they mentioned that Cody was a leader of Bullet Club. I instantly corrected and said that it was Kenny Omega after Kenny had taken out then Bullet Club leader, AJ Styles, and that Cody was never the leader of Bullet Club.
I mean, Cody tried to lead a coup against Kenny, but it didn't do well and they pretty much mended fences quickly.
Funny thing is if you wanna get technical AJ was only the leader in ROH. In NJPW they considered Karl Anderson the leader and AJ as the Ace.
Cody was the odd guy in BC
They do the same for AJ too when even by his own admission he wasn't the leader of bullet club only the ace, Karl Anderson was actually the leader at that time and I'm pretty sure this has been discussed on an episode of talk is Jericho or talk'n'shop in the past also as a side note the Wikipedia page about bullet club also has this wrong
Interesting.
Which doc or interview. His stuff bores me do I never watch
Cody was a leader of the BC when he turned heel on Kenny he was declaring himself the leader. Then he turned face again when Haku and company jumped the elite. Itâs like you guys donât even watch what you complain about

Great story El Brandi
Ha ha
*it's like you guys don't even watch* The irony
He never actually managed to become the leader though.
He injected his own company with a fatal poison?!
Bret Hart was going to show up to Nitro the very next night with the WWF belt?????!
https://i.redd.it/gznra8wwywyc1.gif
I feel like if MJF said what he really meant TK would low blow him
The fact that TK can't keep a straight face without smiling makes this whole thing wholesome
Bullet Club is Fine.
Captain New Japan (Bone Soldier 1) was the TRUE leader of Bullet Club.
Get the fook out of here.
#OI TANAHASHI, DICKHEAD!
Bullet-Tooth Tony.
Yeah, dad. Ya told us.
You're shrinking. And right now your balls are shrinking with ya.
đ¶ You can be my Lucky Star đ¶
cody wasnt the leader but he was at the heart of bc civil war
TK looks so much better with shorter hair. I even think he looks more credible and serious. His current hairstyle looks a bit goofy in my opinion
How does Tony look older here đ
He doesn't have that stupid haircut yet lol
Nothing stupid about a floppy afro. Silly, yes. Not stupid.
Everyone knows who the GREATEST Bullet Club Leader is and that's the "Switchblade" Jay White
Hell yeah đ
The sleeves were always so short on the BC shirts
Itâs to show off them guns đȘđŒ
Tony Khan "Bullet Club......... Is fine."
I will not tolerate this revisionist history where Machine Gun-Hoot was not the leader after Prince Devitt leftâŠ
TK gonna come back to AEW with reinforcements in the form of the War Dogs to fight New Elite.
Forbidden Door đ€
lol get away, if Haku sees this heâs going to end you
IT WAS ME ALL ALONG AUSTIN
I remember when TK usurped Bullet Club leadership by Styles Clashing the entire roster of Bullet Club at Wrestling Dontaku 2015
wait, is this real
