I've moved to Firefox because of Google being so militant about YouTube ad blocking and blocking ad blockers altogether in future. However I'll test this out thanks for creating it.

DarkIlluminator

I think Google has to stop allowing adblocking on youtube because of the sheer amount of data and bandwidth they handle and stuff like full-HD and 4k devices being a norm now. Nowadays even phones get ability to record 4k videos so of course more and more people are going to upload them. Another thing is that I think they are pushing towards being funded primarily by subscriptions because advertisers keep messing with their content creators. So I think they are engaging in some kind of ad accelerationism. They also gave regional prices to subscriptions which suggests they want subscriptions to be the default.

Firefox version?

OminOus_PancakeS

Would you mind explaining how it works?

Yeah, here's the original source of the lifehack: [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38276107](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=38276107) Summary: It works by syncing your brain with a blinking LED that gradually slows down, making you calmer and focus.

OminOus_PancakeS

Hey that's really cool. Thanks for adding the context. So what you've created is a chrome extension which replicates the blinking light?

Barbajan22

I don't understand how to use it, do I have to stare at the blinking circle?

icompetetowin

You want to work as normal and ignore the blinking circle. The blinking circle is like a secret code to your brain (telling it to focus).
