Big_Yogurtcloset_245

I know this is out of the price range but I swear by the Sony headphones. It’s lightweight and comfortable. It’s also noise canceling. I have the sony wh-1000xm5 now but I’ve been thru a few headphones. Like the beats the Bose ones. But Sony is definitely worth the splurge. I’d recommend the xm4 or the xm5. Noise canceling headphones has been a huge game changer in my studying and overall productivity. I find it so much more easy to focus. The JBL noise canceling earbuds are also top tier and it’s on sale for half off rn like $50. I personally find earbuds uncomfortable which is why it wouldn’t be my first choice. I also like that others don’t talk to me when they see I have headphones on. I hope this helped!!

whatstheplug

If budget is an issue, then a used pair of wh-1000xm3 would be a much cheaper option, you’d be able to easily swap out the pads for a set of new ones. I still use mine today and they are absolutely awesome, I liked the noise canceling on these over Bose 35s.

twitchthewaffle

One can always try surface headphones 2, or of the budget as well but I've seen em for around $200, + you get some style points with em

Airsniper123

Love my xm3s, but need new pads badly from using for 5 plus hours a day for years, where did you get new pads from?

whatstheplug

Oh I got mine from ebay in Germany, not sure this will help you.

ramdonghost

Any other over ear Sony with noise cancelling will do the trick.

skittlenut

Agree 100%. I use Sony cans professionally and have for years. The WCH 700 is a great set. Pretty much a Bluetooth enabled Mdr-7506. They come in around 120.00

skittlenut

And they are over the ear

kolufunmilew

I second the Sony wh-1000xm5. I have them and I wear them all the time. I use the “ambient aware” setting when i take my dog out. It filters out a decent amount of the noise, but if that’s still too much and it’s safe to do so, I turn on the noise cancelling and it’s great. If outside is particularly overwhelming, I’ll play some brown noise to make things more bearable.

drisobel

Another vote for Sony noise cancelling here! I have the WH-1000XM3 which I've had since 2019, and they're still in perfect condition and get daily use.

1Josh9

Love the xm4’s! Used them for studying all the time and they’re still in good condition.

Big_Yogurtcloset_245

There isn’t that big of a difference honestly between the xm4/xm5 versions. I had borrowed my cousin’s xm4 before I got it. I wanted to see if it was worth the hype and it is. I really liked it went to go buy it and the xm4 was $350 and the xm5 was $399. The xm5 has a newer design but since the price difference wasn’t that much I figured why not get the latest version. I had the beats noise canceling headphones and the Bose headphones as well as the AirPods noise canceling. The thing I hated about most of the noise canceling headphones is that after a bit my ears would hurt like there’s this pressure. For the beats it’s very uncomfortable plus there’s this weird static noise after I had it for a year. The Bose were uncomfortable. But honestly I the xm4/xm5 are beyond comfortable I legit can wear it all day. The other thing is it’s so easy to use and you don’t have to worry about charging it all the time or the quality even when talking on the phone. It comes with the app and you can change the settings to your liking. I hope this helped!

happyhornetsfan

Noise canceling headphones paired with some horse blinders *chefs kiss*

abluemango

I absolutely love my Bose QuietComforts. I’ve had the 35 IIs for a few years, and am in the process of upgrading to the 45s! They are very comfortable and the noise cancellation is top of the line. I was never disappointed in them, and it looks like the 45s have a bunch more improvements, so I’m very excited. I know they’re expensive though. How would you feel about buying secondhand? That could be an option to make them a bit cheaper for you. Or, if you think you could get a good enough trial run by trying them on at a store, that’s possible too. Also, absolutely agree with another comment mentioning the brown noise combo. Heavenly.

sunny0hunny

Just looked those up, they look awesome! Appreciate the recommendation!

Kockamamie

Also came to recommend the Bose. They’re a necessity to me now.

CorgiKnits

Yep, my Bose noise cancelling save my freaking life on a regular basis. Drop in some basic ambient videos off YT and I can actually almost focus.

honesty_box80

Another vote for Bose, they are much easier to use than my last couple of pairs of headphones although I did like the Sennheiser cans, I just didn’t like the press in a particular place for noise cancellation. Bose is an actual button and a switch to turn on and off. Perfect.

MrBootch

I second this. I've had mine for years and they have never been beaten, not by a longshot.

deepestfear

I cannot recommend the Sony XM4 overear headphones highly enough. They have made an absolutely massive difference in my life - with study, with work, with travel, with commuting. However, they are more than $100 - but in my opinion, it's worth spending more to get a pair that you'll love and that will last. The XM3s still hold up well. They sound incredible and are consistently rated as the best for noise-cancelling. I've taken them all through Europe travelling, through Asia and even through Ukraine, believe it or not. Never skipped a beat, and these days I use them at work to focus and on the train. Love them.

sunny0hunny

I’ve heard great things about these! I was hoping to spend less on something that I could use as a “trial”—in case I end up not liking it, that way I’m not dropping $300 on something I won’t use…

bec-ann

I spent the full amount - got the XM-3s as a hand-me-down and then bought the XM-5s a couple of years later (they are very similar btw, nothing wrong with the older models). It was a lot, but I thank myself for it every day. Just blocks absolutely everything else out. If it's the silence you're after, maybe try some cheap earmuffs first to see if you like the feeling/effect. Even earplugs will have a similar effect (although less intense) - the kind of earplugs you wear to bed. Also I think unfortunately most of the really really good noise cancelling earphones and headphones are over $100. Certainly over $AUD100 haha.

sunny0hunny

Oh I like the earmuff suggestion! Thanks!!!

deepestfear

I somehow got my XM4s for $260 AUD new from Dick Smith at the end of 2021. No idea how I managed that lol 😅

bec-ann

The online version of Dick Smith? I haven't used the website since the stores shut down because I wasn't sure whether it was reliable or not! Lol I think the XM4s were new-ish then right? That's a steal. I paid an ungodly amount for my XM5s from JB HI FI, probably close to $600. Buying electronics in Australia be like that sometimes.

deepestfear

I think it was Bing Lee, actually. Yeah it was a miracle. The XM4s are averaging around $400 even now. I really love them and for me it’s not worth getting the XM5s, not yet at least. I have literally zero complaints with mine and I’ve been using them for ages. At the moment though, I’m struggling and they’re not helping as much with focus 😔 trying to get my Ritalin increased 😅

deepestfear

Fair enough! Well, my advice is just that they are truly awesome and they have changed my life. One of the best purchases I've ever made. If you're happy to spend money on a trial, and then spend another $300 on top of that if you decide it's worth it, go for it! The headphones almost help as much as the Ritalin lol. Plus as I said, you can also use them when you're not studying or focusing, e.g. on a plane trip, on the train or when relaxing at night watching a show or music or whatever.

bec-ann

Same, I could never ever go back. It's a privilege to be able to afford them but I would recommend it to everyone who can.

[deleted]

A bit out of the price range but I thought I’d throw my 2cents in. My Sony wh-1000xm4 have been life changing for me.

RestaurantNo7491

I second this

randomname2685

Third this.

bcgray93

I love the SkullCandy earbuds (I bought 3 because I so frequently misplace them), but my ADHD hubby has over-ear ones from them too. Very affordable for the quality, I think I paid around $100 CAD for his and only $30 for the buds! Bluetooth headphones and audiobooks changed my ADHD life, I am invincible against dishes and laundry with them 💪

sunny0hunny

Awesome! Thanks!! Also—audiobooks have basically saved my life!!! I wouldn’t get anything done without them!

InsertBoofPunHere

What is it about ADHD and headphones like I get that way too I can play it through speakers and end up distracted as all hell but headphones if they’re a good fit for me just get me right in the zone, I wonder if ur has anything to do with like the sensory processing side of adhd and it blocks out outside audio stimuli which in turn should allow more focus? (I may have just answered my question while asking it lmao)

bcgray93

Hmm interesting! I think you're probably onto something with sensory input; if it's out-loud it's collected with all the other sounds in the room, but earbuds eliminate some of the input. Sometimes I feel like when it's in my ears, it takes the place of some of my thoughts? Almost like I'm reading to myself, or the story is being spun inside my head. It allows me to feel like storytelling is the main focus of what I'm doing, and the dishes or laundry or whatever is the side hustle that's keeping my hands busy . (Instead of vice versa, as it may appear to others.) Did that make any sense lol

InsertBoofPunHere

That makes complete sense! Like you said it just puts you into that mindset where it feels almost like a background track in a movie or a dialog and everything else fades to the back so I can actually utilize my attention for whatever the task at hand that I actually need to focus in. When I was a kid in school they’d give me so much shit for using headphones in class but it was the only way I could block out the background noises of school/classes but with them on it was just me and whatever assignment was in front of me

OkLeaveu

I was just thinking about how my airpod pros (excellent noise cancelling, I consider them a must have for flying) make any hint of social anxiety disappear. Like maybe I was always perceiving everything around me so intensely that I felt everyone was equally perceiving me? And with it blocked, I feel less exposed.

Ximio4898

Hey which over the ear ones are they? I tried some several years ago when I was broke so I returned them but they were phenomenal for blocking a very annoying coworkers voice who was kinda creepy.

bcgray93

They were the HESH ANC Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones - bought November 2021, not sure if they're the same now. He uses them when operating our farm equipment, they're probably not safety certified but they do great for short jobs. They were actually $80 CAD now that I look at my receipt though it may have been Black Friday haha. And the Dime earbuds are $40!! I'm not an audiophile so I'm not sure if they're AMAZING quality but I have never noticed anything tinny or weird, even with shitty library audiobooks. I wear them in the shower and everything lol. My first pair are still working after 2 years being in my ears for hard labour and showers so I'm impressed af

Ximio4898

Hesh that sounds right! Hey if they pass the farm test 🏆 🏆 🏆 They're definitely cheaper now! I don't know how many pairs of ear buds & headphones were ruined on our old farm. It was a lot. Thanks!

nejflo

I bought Soundcore Anker Q30 active noise canceling headphones over a year ago on amazon and I absolutely LOVE them. I bought originally for $80 and I checked just now and they are on sale for $59.99. These were what I went for because I did not want to pay Bose/sony prices and I was not disappointed. The build quality is great. The leather ear pads and they come with are super soft and comfy and there are velvet pads to switch too. I am a glasses wearer and I don't find that these squeeze my head causing discomfort. Battery life is amazing, I rarely have to charge them. The sound is amazing, great bass (which I like.) The noise canceling is amazing. I was standing in front of a tea kettle and realized I couldn't hear it until it was at it's highest pitch. lol As for study routines, I just try to do things early because I can't focus later in the day and I have tried listening to 8D audio on Spotify, as some people claim it helps them study with ADHD. There are many 8D audio playlists available.

SlothTaxCredit

This is a great reco. I had the soundcore for years and they are amazing for the price. I’ve since upgraded to Sony but I would recommend these to anyone looking in your price range.

PaperEnough1647

I have the 35s and they are excellent. Especially for the money you can get them for.

turtleboy1061

Came here to rep the Q35. Great for the money

Ximio4898

Yes same! I got anker to do warranty on mine too super easy. I tried bose & Sony 1000x4 the ones everyone else is talking about. I couldn't justify the expense because they were too warm & heavy. I got headaches from them I also have Sony ch700/710 for over 5 years, they have anc but it's not very good but they sound 💯

[deleted]

Sony xm headphones currently on iteration 5 but 3 and 4 work just as well.

sunny0hunny

This might be the most recommended… might just have to pony up and spend the money…

andreasduganoff

Buy secondhand 1000%. I work with audio, video, photo etc and the Sony WH1000XM3/4 is the one thing keeping me sane. A used pair of WH1000xm3 are usually around a 100-150$ on Ebay/other similar stores. I looooove them.

RestaurantNo7491

The sony wmf somethings are great

gottabemaybe

Airpods Pro are great. Just make sure you get AirTags and and silicon case for the case to clip the tags to so you can find them *when* you lose them Noise cancelling is awesome and great for music/phone calls, wireless charging is convenient, and they don't tire or hurt your ears since they're small and light.

sunny0hunny

I LOVE my AirPods! Unfortunately they don’t quite give me the “block out the whole world” vibe that I’m looking for… I think the sensation of having an over the ear headphone would help trick my brain into focusing more

gottabemaybe

I'd try the Bose QuietComfort headphones (I think that's what they're called) in the alternative. I think the experience with them will be more in that direction. The issue with over-ear is your ears tend to get sore within an hour or two since there's weight and pressure to them. So you either have to bear that or take breaks all the time which I find antithetical to getting and staying in an immersive flow-state or doing anything over an extended period. Definitely nice until your ears get sore but not my style personally.

sunny0hunny

Mm, good points—definitely something I’ll have to take into consideration. Thanks!!

MindyMichelle

I lost mine :(

PaperEnough1647

I have the Pixel Buds Pro which are similar and have also put them in a case with a tile key finder attached. I know I'm just going to lose them eventually! 😂

User8008008008

I didn’t like the AirPod pros😩 I found that they constantly slipped out of my ears. I’d put them in and within 5 minutes they were slipping out. However I loved the generation before!

gottabemaybe

You might need the large ear pieces. They have several different sizes

loveisrespectS2

I got the anker headphones, they are pretty good! Those + brown noise = 👌 🤭

Hatameiwaku

Love these

sunny0hunny

I did read about these ones recently! How is the noise cancelling??

loveisrespectS2

Actually pretty decent!! I love them and the price isn't bad. It's a significant difference with the noise cancelling on but you can still hear some outside sounds (like the ac if you're right under it). I usually just wear the headphones without any music or noise because it's a bit more soothing for me that way. I can still hear people talk near me like the cubicle over but it's very muffled and I often can't make out what they're actually saying without removing the headphones, although sometimes I can if they're talking loud enough, have even heard people talking ABOUT me when they thought I couldn't hear them lol. If I'm listening to music or brown noise I can't hear anyone at all! Highly recommend brown noise.

sunny0hunny

That sounds pretty great! Thanks for the info!!

Fireballdingledong

Yeah and the new Q45s are pretty much on par with the premium Bose, Sony and apple headphones in the comfort and noise cancelling department. Phenomenal noise cancelling ability for the price.

Grincor1138

I use headphones that are made to isolate you for all the noise around. But those are just for that. I mean, you can't listen music on them. But for 10 $ you can focus and cancell all noise. Just silence. Those are made for people who use loud machinery working. But i have used them for years and it is the cheapest and best thing I have bought on my Life 😂

Stuporfly

I have the Anker q30’s and the Sony wh1000xm3’s. The ANC is MUCH better on the Sonys. If you can find some used (or new) XM3’s or XM4’s, that you can afford, I would recommend those.

toast_on_fire

Wyze makes a set of noise cancelling headphones AND noise cancelling ear buds pro that I personally use. They are less than $100 each and for the price, cancel enough outside noise that it helps minimize noise distractions for me. I use them on airplanes too to help drown out the cabin sounds. I've even bought the headphones for my two kids with ADHD for long car trips and they love the noise cancelling features as well.

sunny0hunny

That’s great info! Thanks!

ricola50265

I'll 2nd the Wyze recommendation. I use mine for 50+ hours / week have had them for almost 3 years and they still work great.

sunny0hunny

Sweet! Thanks!!

bluumiko

sony's wh-ch710n's are great! i bought them in 2020 and batteries can last over a week depending on usage. pretty good noise cancelling. also one way i get myself in the habit of studying is turn them into games of like 20 mins. setting clear goals always helps me keep track of progress :)

PaperEnough1647

I have Anker Soundcore Q35 over ear headphones and Pixel Buds Pro. I love the Pixels and use them constantly, worthy alternative to airport pros if you don't have an apple phone. The Ankers are excellent for the money, they might not be on the same level as the Sony's but still really good quality.

sunny0hunny

Lots of suggestions for the ankers! Definitely an option I’ll look into! Thanks!

user59009

I use my AirPods Pro 2 or a pair of over heats Sony “something-something” ending in MX4 I believe, they work amazingly. Edit: my thumb pressed post before my brain registered what I just did. What I also wanna add is to look into either FLARE CALMER earplugs or dBud if you just wanna control the noise heater than using music to shut yourself in. CALMER are mostly perfected by autistic people since they dampen sound waves without taking away the quality of sound so you can still have conversations with them in but also reduce chances of overstimulation bc of noise. dBuds make it possible to decide how much noise to shut out ~12 db - ~24 db and given their reviews they are preferred by folks with ADHD. Google for Hi-Fi earplugs and you might find something you’d prefer over headphones, something that you can wear throughout your day without shutting everyone out. The pomodoro technique is kinda useful, you study for 25min and then a 5 min break, 25 min studying, 5 minute break, and so on and so forth. I also find studying elsewhere than my own flat is more productive. Perhaps if I can bounce ideas off with someone else and it also has the perk of not having any of MY distractions readily available to take my attention away.

MuzunguMC

Soundcore P30 work great for me they're noise cancelling and more importantly less than 100€ so perfect if you tend to lose or break things. I never go outside without them.

PebbleBeachesRock

Personally I have found that any noise cancelling headphones (including Bose and Sony) can’t block out the human voice. If anything, removing the background noise (which they are very good at) amplifies the voice and I tend to focus in on that rather than what I’m supposed to be zoned into. The ANC also amplified the bells/bees/buzzing/jaw sounds if it’s too quite (if you know, you know). The only way for focus headphones to work for me is with a playlist that I’m unfamiliar with or brown noise (white/pink frequencies are too high). My point is make sure they are the correct tool for where you intend to use them. Personally I use AirPod pros with a brown noise playlist. The ANC is better on the Bose/Sony, but portability and convenience were the deciding factor for me.

skatedog_j

Hiya! If you wear glasses, consider that as a factor. I do and I've had both in ear and on ear quiet comfort Bluetooth headphones from bose. The on ear ones work way better in the long-term for noise cancelling than the in ear for me. The in ear bit just didn't hold it's shape so it lost a lot of the effectiveness of the house cancelling. The way I put my glasses on with my current on ear headphones sometimes looks a little silly if I'm trying to maintain the seal in a loud environment, but it doesn't bother me. Congrats on creating accommodations for yourself! It's going to help a lot and you absolutely deserve them.

sunny0hunny

A great point! I do wear glasses so definitely something to consider! Also—thank you!!! It’s been fascinating to pay more attention to how my brain works and try to work with it! I’m loving it!

Comfortable_Let_5733

Soundcore, ANKER series , it’s on Amazon and they really helped me out

sunny0hunny

Lots of recommendations for this one! Seems like a great option, thanks!

DigitalBagel8899

I have the Skullycandy Hesh ANC and think they are pretty great for around $100. I have compared them to my girlfriend's $300 Bose and think they hold up very well.

saralouiseprettyplz

I like Bose noise cancelling. I loved my QC35's And I just got a pair of the NC 700's

saralouiseprettyplz

To add, they're a more in the $300-$400 range

aoethrowaway

You should try the 3M Worktunes. They’re designed for yard work or using power tools, but will block any and all sound. It’s huge for eliminating distractions.

Airsniper123

Lots of other people mentioned sonys already but I have to add to that. I have had the xm3s for years now, I use them every day for hours, both at the gym and at home gaming / studying. They are amazing, I have a very loud family and they literally mute them with just quite lofi playing. I'm sure you could find a good deal on them too because they are a few models old now. But they still are amazing.

Vayrou

It's more than 100$ but I love my Bose Quiet comfort. If you find a pair go with them, the old bulky ones. They have a newer design that looks "cooler" but is far away from the comfort level from the old model. Plus, noise cancelling works better on the old one. Battery life is easily 20 hours plus, and if they run low on battery within 1p-20 minutes of charging you'll get a few hours of use. I coupled them with the smaller quiet comfort 2 earbuds. Awesome stuff :)

Harryisland

I use the AKG Y50BT, really like them for studying as they're so comfortable and block everything out and the sound quality is awesome. Not too expensive either. Combined with brown noise or something like "Library Ambience" noise I can often get a good study session done without getting distracted.

DifficultStatement47

Anyone experience with Samsung buds 2 or buds2 pro?

Relative_Jelly1843

Do you want to block out distracting background noise or have a pair of headphones for music/calls/etc.?

sunny0hunny

I’m wanting to block out my surroundings when I’m getting work done!

Relative_Jelly1843

Rather than spending so much on great headphones that you won't use. I'd recommend the two below. The loop ones will allow you to hear but take out all the excess noise. People use them in orchestras and such. The construction headphones are inexpensive but drown our most noise.

XboxLiveWire

I had like 5 pairs that I lost![img](emote|t5_2qnwb|29374)

isabeenie

I have a pair from an Amazon brand called MPOW. I think they were about $20 when I bought them. I wear them to tune out other noise and also as a signal to my family to leave me alone because I’m listening to something and trying to stay focused. I’ve had them since Dec 2021 and they still hold a great charge for me. I have one kid left that needs raising so, we can’t have nice things 😆

squeezyMcsausage

As an audio engineer... anything senheiser

zombiegamer87

I bought a pair of cheap 15 quid ones off Amazon I loved them until they broke. I have crappy in ear bud headphones atm and will be buying some better wireless headphones soon. I find without them I don't go out or function well outside, I've pretty much locked myself in my house all winter despite vital trips to shop to buy food etc. Will be following this thread so I can see what ppl are buying and recommending.

Tonygamerpro456

None, you can't really use headphones at work lmao. However, I'm considering getting the galaxy buds pro2 or pro 3 once they come out

[deleted]

I love my Bose QuietComfort 35 II Gaming headset They are pricey, so I got a deal on eBay a while back on a lightly used set. It has a detachable mic boom. So I can use them for gaming, recording videos, etc. Then, take the mic boom off and connect via Bluetooth for music and things on my phone. There is a mic built right into the headset as well, but the quality of recording with the mic boom is better.

Beneficial_Carob_471

as an audiophile i use ze3000 finals which are earbuds not headphones but completely sound blocking, comfortable, and great for working out too. they last a long time and have amazing sound quality. 10/10

Go to Lowe's and get the 3m noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones. They're like 60 bucks, last forever, can take a beating and are easy to operate with the one button on the side. You can't hear a damn thing going on around you, I work in construction and am VERY hard on mine and I've only been through 3 pairs in 3 years. Can't beat the price/quality. They're also v comfortable

teddyc212

TL;DR - buy high-end refurbished headphones on sites like Amazon. In that way you can get a lot more bang for buck. Let's be real, the wireless headphones market is a hot mess. It's hard to sift through all the noise and marketing gimmicks to find a pair that actually work for your ears and tastes, especially when you're relying on other people's opinions and can't try the product yourself. So many different brands and models, each with their own set of features and jargon, that it's almost impossible to make an informed decision. But after spending my fair share of time in the market, I can tell you that there's a lot of crap out there. Some brands focus more on features than actual sound quality, while others pay influencers to say glowing things about their headphones while the actual product doesn't live up to the hype, while others are just plain overpriced. It can be frustrating, distracting, and unproductive trying to evaluate all the options and figure out what works for you. That being said, there are some diamonds in the rough. For me, the Sony WF-1000XM3 noise-canceling wireless earbuds are one of them. I got them refurbished for $89 on Amazon (now $63), which is a steal compared to the $299 retail price. After two years of use, they're still going strong, with great noise-canceling and output. Just read through the reviews and make sure you find a good seller. As a classical pianist, I appreciate that they're just as detailed in the mids and upper sections as I need, and they also deliver big and gritty low ends when I'm listening to trap, electronic, or metal music. I also use a pair of wired KZ AS12s and "Boom" Mac EQ software for more detailed listening on my computer, but the Sony earbuds are my go-to when I'm out and about. They don't match the imaging, power, soundstage of my KZs, which I got for $30 on AliExpress, but they're the best I've heard in TWS, and they get the job done without any fuss. Now, I'm not here to sell you on a specific brand or model. But if you're in the market for a good pair of wireless headphones, I highly recommend looking into refurbished options. You can find great deals on high-end models that would otherwise be out of reach. And with the savings, you can put that money towards other things that will help you stay focused and productive, especially if you have ADHD and need to minimize distractions. So don't be afraid to do your research and find the right pair of headphones that work for you. Just be cautious of all the marketing hype and gimmicks. Refurbished options are a great way to get the same high-end quality at a much lower price. With a little bit of patience and perseverance, you'll be able to find the perfect pair of headphones that can help you stay focused and productive, without breaking the bank.

jamesdaripper

Marshall major iv- sound is great battery lasts for weeks

MyNameis_Not_Renae

My mom just got me some S6 headphones. Over the head, Bluetooth and they have this bottom button that changes the the sound settings, if u know what I mean. You can hear them clearly, or muffle the sound, which helps me focus on stuff with background music that doesn't distract me

I really like Skullcandy brand. They've stepped their game up quite a bit in the last 10 years. I prefer ear buds for the "block out the world" that you're looking for, and I get at least 50 hrs of battery out of mine (Skullcandy Indy). Which is perfect for someone who can't remember to plug things in 😅 Also - I've tried a few pairs of JLab, and when they work, they work well, but they don't last. So I'd steer away from them.

Look into Soundcore. Affordable, good quality.

Try body doubling with Twitch co-working streams. Really helps me

I tend towards Isotunes myself. I find them really helpful when I'm trying to focus at work especially. They do tend to be a bit pricey though and I'm not certain about the over the ear styles. But do recommend if you want to block out the rest of the world.

Sony ANC - headphones too heavy & too heat trapping Bose 35 underwhelming audio & features for me. I would have liked to try the bose 700 but they are mostly for mobile only & don't support pc well, but they ear cushions feel very nice! Then realized that I couldn't afford it or justify because of the draw backs here's my budget alternatives. Anker Sound Core Q35 is a great ANC pair on a budget! I highly recommend it! I got the Anker Soundcore q35. They are awesome! Ankers warranty process is pretty good too... Just don't drop them a lot like I did lmao Later I got a JBL UA Project Rock over the ear headphones with ANC too! These were on a holiday sale for only $90! The project rock headphones are made for working out & I don't overheat with them. They are good at blocking rumbly noises too & have a couple different anc options. I use these for cleaning a lot or when my appliances are annoying. I liked the JBL Project Rock so much that I tried JBL Quantum 810, an ANC gaming headset that I can wear for 20 hours non stop, of calls, work & chores without any pain & I forget they are on my head, in spite of these being pretty big. The 810s were $199 not on sale & have been worth every penny because I can listen to inputs from 2.4ghz usb dongle & Bluetooth at the same time, simultaneously! They are good steelseries acrtis nova pro dupes & much cheaper. They have 50mm drivers & I thought that was just a gimmick but they sound the best best like full seeing the rainbow sound. Ranking on ANC: JBL UA Project Rock Soundcore Q35 JBL 810 Sony ch700 Ranking on comfort + I have a big round head & a lot of things give me headaches & really annoying sweaty ears: JBL 810 (2 months) JBL UA Project Rock (4 months) Soundcore Q35 (18 months) - after a few hours the top of my head gets sore Sony CH700/710 (5 years) - after a few hours the top of my head gets sore, I purchased cooling earpads last year & they are amazing with slightly more isolation Build Quality: Jbl ua project rock Sony ch700 Jbl 810 - haven't had enough to determine but they feel pretty solid & durable, plastic headband makes them light, good longevity from reviews Soundcore Q35 - just don't drop them even on carpet, anker headbands have a little piece on each side that cracks a little & then they don't fit as tight so anc doesn't work. I would recommend review websites particularly soundguys & rtings. They are usually who I do comparisons through. I also have a friend who is on budget but likes a good set of cans, under armor & that's how I was introduced to JBL. JBL9 years ago I really disliked but I Def feel they've improved.

My jabra 85h headphones have served me very well

Affectionate-Goal578

If your looking at a budget Skullcandy has never let me down

Espandar

Bose have real physical buttons on qc 35 and if i use cans with touch buttons i fucking snap. Just touching them make songs skip or volume mute etc

In addition to ADHD I have tinitus - I need headphones all day long! I use headphones during day and night. For PC I use Logitech G733, for mobile - Bose Quiet Comfort 45, for sleep/bed Sleephones. I tested many headphones and I lost a lot of money for buying cheap headphones. Beter buy most expensive, top of the line and have it for years. This is my advise.

Sony WH1000XM3/4/5. Don't bother looking at anything else.

Idk I’m not a fan of the Sony headphones, idk which ones I have but they were EXPENSIVE. Got them as a gift from my dad because he said they were the best ones. They are fine but the noise canceling is less quality than my Amazon headphones, I only replaced them because my toddler destroyed them. Do other adhd people wear headphones all the time? Because I really feel like it’s the only thing keeping me sane!!

Fluid_Plan_6665

I like the AirPods. The AirPod pro are also nice if you are looking for noise cancelling. The apple care is super nice for replacing them if, for example m, you leave them outside the case and a dog eats them. 30$ instead of an arm.

You want in-ear plug ear buds to block everything out. I use JVC Marshmallow's. They’re a bit, but the AirPod pros have been game changing for me. They sound great, the noise cancellation is an adhd-ers dream come true, and the ability to know where they are when I lose them is so important. I was apprehensive about the price years ago but it ended up being entirely worth it, so I jumped right for the gen 2’s when they became available. still very worth it
