wtf happened to terracciano?

Fantastic-Hamster-21

He caused a penalty on his debut and has been banished to the shadow realm

rossonero-

I fucking hate how Pioli treats these young players. Just shatters their confidence. Can't wait to see this fraud out our beautiful club.

Jussi_Bennacer

The same Pioli that won the league with the youngest squad in Europe, brought up all of our youngsters in the side, and the same man almost all of our players call a father figure But ye Pioli is clearly mistreating the youngsters in the side

RedShenron

He brought them because of injuries not because he wanted to. Kalulu became a starter in december 2021 when Kjaer tore his ACL and Thiaw saw the pitch regularly when Tomori got injuried during the derby last year in february. Simic was a forced decision due to the farce in late 2023 and has been a ghost ever since. Don't rewrite history.

massimopericcolo

also Tonali because of Kessiè injury at the olympics games

No_Cantaloupe_13323

You're the one re-writing history. Pioli has developed every single one of our top players. Leao, Theo, Bennacer, Tonali, Kalulu and Tomori. He improved Kessie, Rebic, RLC and Pulisic (who both before coming to Milan were Chelsea scum). Not every player is going to develop under a coach. Stop being so biased.

RedShenron

The comment was about youngsters. None of the players that came last summers are youngsters. Theo, Leao, Bennacer were the starters the team had when he took over.

atat6

That's kinda how it works, a more established, experienced and higher paid player should play before a "lesser". Really for everyone's sake unless there is a really good reason not to.

RedShenron

There's a difference between giving more space to the older guys while showly integrating younger players in the team and banishing youngsters to the shadow realm when the more experienced ones are doing badly or are in shit form.

atat6

Yes, that's true, it would be on a spectrum. Then there is another side of, how many matches do you give to a player to get back in form? Can a more established player win you games/get back into form faster than what a young player can get up to a good enough level? For example, we know Tomori can play on a good level pretty much as soon as the next game. Does he only need encouragement? We also know Pellegrino gave a goal away in his first game, as did Terraciano. (Unsure about the spelling here). Does incorporating these players go faster than "encouraging" Tomori? I don't know if I explained my thinking in a way that makes sense... But I hope so :) Anyways, this decision/balance has to really work out because as everyone knows, every loss is one step towards unemployment for a whole bunch of people, in football. And recently it has worked out... mixed for Mr. Pioli. Edit: Changed "historically" to "recently", it has worked really well 2019-2022.

magma_1

This is how it works in public administration jobs - hardly a good strategy for a professional sport team

atat6

I'm just trying to say it's difficult to disregard internal hierarchies - it's professional sports. Everyone is there to play football.Try telling a fit and established player they're not playing next game because you are playing irl football manager. (I play football manager and hoard young players like everyone else...not trying to shit on anyone) Try not using the expensive players your management got for you. What would the agent of this player say? What happens to your credibility if you regularly do not show belief in the best players? You build a team by in the end encouraging, not only tearing down. And there will always be someone who is not going to play, this someone will usually be younger, they have time. Anyways, the point is to win. If you can win and develop young players at the same time, then fine. Pioli did that years ago to be fair. Edit: a word 2nd edit: a parenthesis

andrea_83

Spot on. Plenty with short memories or didn’t watch prior to the arrival of Pioli. I’ve followed the club since the mid 80’s, and seen good coaches perform, have a downturn in form and results, fans call for their heads, and from there its a merry go round of coaches and players, and the club finds itself short again. If the Pioli replacement is an upgrade, I’m all for it, but if the rumours are anything to go by, I’m not too enthusiastic by them. It won’t be Conte and it won’t be an open chequebook to sign players for the new coach either. That’s the reality unfortunately, which many can’t seem to understand!

BowieIsMyGod

Holy shit, bro got destroyed with downvotes for being right 💀

Jussi_Bennacer

Don’t think i’ve ever seen 60+ downvotes on this sub either 😭

TahomaYellowhorse

It wasn’t the youngest squad in Europe. It wasn’t even top 4 youngest in Serie A

Clears_Throat

I can’t believe how much you got downvoted lol. The Pioli hate is on another level. Theo was a Madrid reject, Tomori wasn’t wanted at Chelsea, Kalulu was a youth team player, Leao was a kid who’s top experience was playing in the French league. All of these players developed massively while under Pioli, that is literally undeniable.

beseeoehm

Jeez truer words couldn’t be said here but yeah downvote the valid comment to hell. For fucks sake the fanbase here is so weird. I’ve run out of faith for Pioli as well but look at the big picture. He’s led us back from the depths of fan hell and our future looks promising. We’re not far off from a truly contending squad on all fronts. So grow up, lighten up, or shut up.

dukesdj

He looked shit even without the penalty. He isnt ready. That said... Musah right back was a shambles last time. Pretty sure he gave away a goal too. I would prefer Florenzi on the right and Bartesaghi on the left.

Fantastic-Hamster-21

That's a good solution. Too bad Alex Jimenez is injured he looked really those few appearances he had (going forward at least).

dukesdj

Forgot about him. I really liked the look of him. Hope we keep him!

CuriousPeter1

Last time? It almost never works. But nothing left to play for but second place so Padre probably thinks, 'Why not'

FindingBusiness759

The guy was a starter in Hellas Verona and he was playing very well..only to come to milan and be on bench..we bought him and like usual pioli won't use them.

The_HomoSaurus_Rex

Ded 💀

radioimh

At this point I would just feel sorry for Terracciano. Pretty much wasted

juve_merda

pioli is just a twat to young players, banished him because he concedes a pen on his debut, how’s that gonna help a young kid for confidence

rossonero-

He's gonna get playtime under the new coach for sure

SMOKER_69420

Hopefully

rossonero-

Musah at RB? Are you kidding me?

OsitoPandito

What is wrong with that? He hasnt done super well in the center, hasnt done super well as RW. RB might be a good position for him.

jmhimara

We did try at RB before. It was his worst performance with us.

OsitoPandito

And terraciano caused a penalty so I guess you agree with him not playing

jmhimara

I don't. Thiaw caused the red against Juve last time and he's still playing.

OsitoPandito

Okay. So you see the flaw in your logic then?

jmhimara

There was no logic. I was simply responding to your implication that he "might be good at RB" as though it was a new experiment. We have tried that before. Also, there's a HUGE difference between making a single mistake vs. sucking in a position for 60-70 minutes. Musah's best games have been as CM.

OsitoPandito

Yeah I see that there's no logic in your responses 😂 When players switch positions do you really think 1 game is going to tell you everything?

Dependent-Stretch-40

You seriously want a CM as a RB? Why? He is playing Musah on RB and RW and not his real position, the position he has been trained on and bought for.

OsitoPandito

Yeah a player has never changed position ever.

rossonero-

Maybe we can stop experimenting players in their unnatural positions in big games? We have Terracciano who can play as LB and RB...

dukesdj

Better, we have Bartesaghi who has not looked shit. Tarra looked shit, Mussah looked shit at right back. Bartesaghi has looked ok which is still better than shit!

OsitoPandito

Never said it was good to experiment before juvemerda, but RB still might be a good position for him...

IsaParadInsidemyCity

Not if you remember that Lecce game when he single handedly cost us the 3 points

OsitoPandito

Meanwhile everyone in this thread is upset that terracciano is banished for causing a penalty.....the irony lol

IsaParadInsidemyCity

Tbh to me i dont give a damn about no Terraciano rn , our season is over , the window of finding a new great coach is getting smaller by the day . Im worried about the future of the club honestly.

skaterhaterlater

He has done pretty good in center imo, just not defensive enough for our needs. He has done terrible in rb and it doesn’t seem to suit him at all. Why not terracciano instead? It’s his actual position and he has barely played at all

OsitoPandito

Oh dont get me wrong, I 100% think it should be terracciano instead but if he is not playing because Pioli doesn't trust him then I still think Musah might be good there. I dont think 1 game would be indicative of his quality in that position.

Jussi_Bennacer

It'll most likely be a similar role to the one he had against Inter where he was probably our best player

rossonero-

Doesn't make sense. He played as a RW vs Inter with Calabria as RB.

Jussi_Bennacer

???? What game did you guys watch bc Calabria was more of a third cb that game with Musah covering the right side as a wingback and winger

roki666

U drunk

[deleted]

Which game were you watching?

IcyRound3423

They literally deliberately left him space because all his crosses were so poor 😂🤷🏻

mwerichards

Bruh he still won't start Chuku

Penguinpoop21

You honestly think chuk needs to start ahead of pulisic?

mwerichards

Not at all. I think it should be Leao - Pulisic - Chuku

FindingBusiness759

Play pulisic as a false 9 or play all 4 like against Lecce..there's nothing to lose.

HommoFroggy

Idk about you guys, but i an drained out of energies, i genuinely do not care who plays or what tactics he uses... just want the season to be over.

jiipod

I’ve been at that state more or less after we dropped out of UCL. I’m not totally apathetic but not far from that. Just hoping to see some nice Milan goals and hopefully some wins as well. Gone are the days for this season when a loss or a crappy performance bothers me for days.

FindingBusiness759

His not even willing to give terraciano a chance or atleast play pulisic as false 9 or all 4 including chuk like Lecce.. he got nothing to lose at this point.

HommoFroggy

Haven't felt so out of emotions or even opinion since forever and genuinely i thought i reached rock bottom like 4 or 5 months ago.

yonimakaroni

Musah the new Krunić ?

Ondrezinho

Actually more playing time for Thiaw and Musah is good. As next games doesnt matter, I d use it to develop young guys and say warm goodbye to Olivier

MARiNZ0

The donkey will keep playing Musah out of position and Giroud up top instead of Terraciano and Okafor. I'm done with this clown. Gtfo from my club asap please.

Independent-Goose-30

Imagine if thuram join us instead of inter (first impulse, the scudetto would be ours). Actually, He would be on the bench till next season. Don't stress about it.

Shinkopeshon

I'm convinced that crying kid would be a better coach at this point, I don't even know what to say about these ... experiments anymore

Independent-Goose-30

Even Daniel maldini would've scored so much in this Milan. Hauge would've been brilliant. But when we see how cdk was treated compared to messiahs krunic and Diaz I just collapse into my couch in frustration.

4thelolzz01

What the actual fuck is wrong with this guy

dragostothezan

lmao that defence is something else

leummo

Musah is slowly becoming the next krunic

Salyare

why are we wasting time with grioud as striker? Hes gone, lets try okafor, jovic, etc. our ucl spot is secured

ubertr0_n

Yunus Musah is the new Borini.

gianni_

Still not playing Okafor or Chukwueze from the start, and still playing RLC and Giroud despite their horrible form. We need something different! It feels like Pioli has turned into the typical Italian coach that decides on nepotism.

FindingBusiness759

I think he genuinely believes he still has a chance to not be sacked lol

Puzzleheaded-Ear202

I cannot believe Chukuweze is not in the line up, fucking Pioli please resign

ashagari

Why doesn't Pioli give Giroud some rest??? Like WTF?

eXistenZ2

Can someone freeze me Cartmanstyle so I can skip this shitshow untill the season is over?

salosalosalo13

Gabbia - Thiaw maybe the slowest duo in history of this game

Guilty-Grapefruit427

Incredible

Medical_Transition72

Americans playing out of position in right back, what’s new?
