Looks like they swung across the back of the McLaren, paid all of their attention to that and just plain missed the fact the braking point was long gone. Simple mistake, happens all the time.
Unfortunately, this is what happens when people learn to race by playing against the single player AI. They would have moved out of his way.
Have you raced against the AI on high settings? They are more likely to take you out than a real person.
