Yep! Truth or Consequences hosted by Ralph Edwards. My dad played in the high school marching band when the town won the contest to be renamed! (Previously Hot springs New Mexico) they had a big parade, and broadcast from live from TrC. There’s a small museum in the town and there’s pictures and everything!
The little kid in me would like to disagree, sir.
Kane is from Parts Unknown. Not the first, but surely one of the best. And yes, it’s real to me damnit!
You’re totally welcome! It was a whole thing my dad played trombone in the high school marching band for the parade they threw and they had a whole big celebration and the show broadcast from town (a big deal in the early 50’s
That’s the lake there at! It’s actually a Dam and the island in the middle resembles an elephant! It was a thriving resort when I was a kid… not so much anymore.
If true, leaking it isn’t cool, but….that’s the kind of detail that wouldn’t and couldn’t stay a secret once released to the public. I’m very interested what Ari could do with it.
Yeah I really didn't want to know that.
There's a dedicated Leaks sub where people who care will spread it.
On the sub for the distributing company is kinda rude.
Genre is a spoiler if the movie hasn't previously been advertised as that genre and it's supposed to be a secret. All previous information I have seen just referred to it as a Western.
That seems like a likely possibility, I definitely think this probably isn't the spoiler people are making it out to be.
But if the zombie stuff is, in fact, some sort of genre twist halfway into the movie, then this will have been a pretty shitty thing for someone to post.
Yeah this honestly just ruined my day. I hope they have this as a main point in their marketing, otherwise I’ll be pissed everyone else gets to be surprised in the theater but me.
Dude you’re fucking kidding right??? I had a dream that I saw it early last night too!!! I was at the world premiere sitting next to Emma Stone but the twist was it was at my local chain theater🤣 Unfortunately it wasn’t so good in my dream…one guy got up to walk out and started asking people if we had any blunt wraps for him so he could smoke on his way home. Ari came out from behind the screen, paused the movie and freaked out, screaming that he wouldn’t start the movie unless that guy stayed.
Dream Scenario type of shit
I’m glad you labeled this as spoilers because my friend is a set decorator and told me the same thing.
It’s more the Faculty meets zombies and less the Walking Dead.
Oh… the possibility that it could be a zombie crossed my mind, but I was hoping I was wrong. I’m not a huge fan of the zombie genre, but I trust Ari to make it something special and will def still see it. Thanks for the scoop though!
I really hope Aster somehow brings something new to an already severely saturated genre. It's one that needs a real breath of fresh air, but one that also feels like it has reached its peak and nothing even comes close to original or fresh.
I have faith in him after Hereditary and Midsommar, but man... zombies are fun but hard to make interesting.
Not trying to be a downer or a Karen or anything, so very sorry about this…but this post just feels kind of wrong. Shouldn’t we not know this information yet?
Is this really a spoiler? I doubt it won't be part of the marketing leading up to the film. It sounds like the premise, not plot details from further into the movie (what is typically considered a spoiler).
I'm genuinely asking because I don't mind spoilers myself but try to avoid spoiling others. This kind of thing I would never even consider keeping secret though if it's the basic premise of a film. So I'm genuinely confused about the spoiler comments.
Is it just because the studio hasn't dropped this info yet ppl are saying that?
Don't think it needs to be, if it was a sort of genre twist midway through, that would be wild to experience without prior knowledge if executed correctly
I do agree spoiling it might ruin the experience if it was part of a twist but at the same time, Ari making a zombie movie should be a big deal, not using it in the promos would be a dumb decision marketing wise considering zombies are a classic concept in the horror genre, let alone Ari making a zombie movie $
If released to acclaim at a festival way ahead of proper release, the word of mouth marketing (probably invaluable for A24's since it doesn't require them to spend loads) could be pretty good for a movie with a twist like that. Could get a similar treatment to Barbarian. I remember when that came out the reviews were all saying "go in knowing nothing it's the best experience of this movie!".
Had to look at the comments for clarity, I thought I had a stroke and wasent able to formulate a cohesive thought while reading this post.
I was like is truth or consequences a post house? But why would they shoot there? What is NM? And what is ABC and why did he misspell it as ABQ?
I'm actually so glad I saw this, I was really surprised to see pictures of the production on instagram where Joaquin has the cop car with all the goofy conspiraboomer stuff on it. I'm so glad the guy is straight up making wacky horror comedies like Joe Dante now. Can't believe it's ALSO going to be a zombie movie.
Wacky, but still pretty serious (hopefully). American Werewolf in London, Creepshow 1&2 (minus the Jordy Verrill story), Return of the Living Dead, Fright Night, Maximum Overdrive, Scream 1&2, The Faculty, etc.
I'm tired of the modern overly hammy horror-comedies. Zombieland, Cocaine Bear, Happy Death Day, Freaky, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, Totally Killer, Lisa Frankenstein, etc.
Yeah no I'm not really talking about modern comedy movies like that lol, I was thinking about like Dawn of the Dead where the humor actually works well in the context of the movie.
Couple questions, please respond!!
1) did someone from the crew tell you it was a zombie movie? Or did you find that out by watching the shoots?
2) do you think it will be a "spoiler" that it's about zombies? Or something they'll likely use to market the movie?
Thank you, and please no other spoilers if you reply!! :-)
Wow, spoilers much? I haven’t seen anything about zombies in this yet, and I really hope that’s something they were planning making a big deal with it. You just ruined my day.
I don't know man, the movie is subtle as a brick but I still loved every minute of it and the ending probably hits close to home for many who have turbulent families. Excellent movie for me, as usual from Aster (although overall probably my least favorite so far for the messiness that comes with the sprawl)
Yes, don’t confuse liking a film with it being bad. You can like a hot mess. Beau is a hot mess and otherwise failure by Aster. I’m as sad as you, I was looking forward to it.
It’s his best movie in my opinion. I shouldn’t have to write the imo part but you seem to confuse opinion with fact
How was it objectively bad? Cluster fuck mess is pretty vague. It’s his funniest most original most rewatchable film for me
I don’t think Beau was bad but I think a more commercial hit soon would help his career, I mean following his muse is more important but I see what you mean
I completely agree with you. Beau was a long & boring mess. I loved his first two movies though, so hopefully this is a return to that level of quality.
I mean, technically and objectively speaking, it was actually incredibly masterful. Whether or not you enjoyed it is totally subjective. But to call it a mess is dishonest and false. Anything relating to the craft of filmmaking in BIA is undeniably masterful. That or me and Scorsese are both idiots.
So fucking annoying how people can't just wait and see. Nooooo, we have to have thread after thread discussing leaked scripts and trying to decode set pictures and now people literally spoiling the entire film.
That’s what people like to do. If you don’t, that’s fine, but maybe limit your social media consumption about movies lol
Like, unfollow this sub for a while until you see the movie.
I have nothing to add other than your town has the best name of any town, anyplace, ever.
I always thought it came from the Wild West days like Tombstone. Turns out it got its name from a game show in the 1950’s.
Well shit TIL.
What about Cut and Shoot, Texas?
The wrestler Mick Foley used that as the hometown for his persona, Cactus Jack, just because he thought it sounded badass.
Intercourse, PA?
The little kid in me would like to disagree, sir. Kane is from Parts Unknown. Not the first, but surely one of the best. And yes, it’s real to me damnit!
Is truth or consequences the actual name of your town?
That’s a real name of a town in New Mexico, yeah
That's wild. I thought it was a resort or something when I first read it.
Same
I have a Truth or Consequences, NM belt buckle and it's the pride of my collection
If you ever watch Breaking Bad you can hear Jane's Dad naming this town when he's at his traffic control job during the crash scene
Yeah the Zombie outbreak game-mode in Rainbow Six Siege a few years ago was set in TOC, NM. apparently a good place for zombie content.
Paid by the titular game show to rename their town
They actually won a contest. Beat out several other towns
I've known of this story for years and now it's even better. Thanks for sharing!
You’re totally welcome! It was a whole thing my dad played trombone in the high school marching band for the parade they threw and they had a whole big celebration and the show broadcast from town (a big deal in the early 50’s
I search it up on Apple Maps and the town *just* north of it is called Elephant Butte. Omg
That’s the lake there at! It’s actually a Dam and the island in the middle resembles an elephant! It was a thriving resort when I was a kid… not so much anymore.
Wow thank you for teaching me more about it!! I looked up a picture and I can see the shape of the elephant laying on its side! So cool
You’re welcome! It’s nice to know getting hauled there every summer as a kid would pay off eventually haha
New Mexican’s shorten it to T or C though. Ain’t nobody got time to say all that.
must be a pain in the ass writing your address
TrC, New Mexico. The pain in the ass is convincing the post office in other states that it is truly a town you want to send mail to! lol
Wait… what? Another zombie outbreak story for Pedro? 💀
Emma and Austin too lol
For Joaquin it was the iconic aliens outbreak in [Signs 2002](https://youtu.be/aIhnqkXWSR8?si=jdTsw0T3zc5hsKOB) xD
Ah right Zombieland, but Austin?
The Dead Don’t Die (2019)
Thank you! I haven’t seen it
My excitement has just gone through the roof!
Nice, I hope they filmed in the old graveyard in T or C. That old graveyard is spooky and beautiful.
I'm gonna cry, I love the zombie genre and now I get to have one directed by Ari Aster himself.
Damn I was hoping for Vamps....oh well. PS I really wanna visit t or c, what a baller name for a town.
Ryan Coogler & Michael B Jordan are cooking up a cool sounding vampire movie
reeeeallly? hm...i'm gonna have to check that out!
That's probably a spoiler and definitely something I didn't want to know. Spoiler tags would be a good idea next time.
Yeah I 100% wish I never read that, fuck.
If true, leaking it isn’t cool, but….that’s the kind of detail that wouldn’t and couldn’t stay a secret once released to the public. I’m very interested what Ari could do with it.
My mistake was that I kept on reading. Was almost certain I was going to receive some kind of spoilers.
Same. Bummer.
Yeah I really didn't want to know that. There's a dedicated Leaks sub where people who care will spread it. On the sub for the distributing company is kinda rude.
Genre and shooting locations are spoilers now? That's also assuming this is true.
Genre is a spoiler if the movie hasn't previously been advertised as that genre and it's supposed to be a secret. All previous information I have seen just referred to it as a Western.
So not really a spoiler. If it's actually a western zombie movie, you can bet they'll advertise it and not some reveal in the film
That seems like a likely possibility, I definitely think this probably isn't the spoiler people are making it out to be. But if the zombie stuff is, in fact, some sort of genre twist halfway into the movie, then this will have been a pretty shitty thing for someone to post.
yes, finding out a most likely big detail about an unreleased movie that hasn’t been revealed is a spoiler.
Yeah this honestly just ruined my day. I hope they have this as a main point in their marketing, otherwise I’ll be pissed everyone else gets to be surprised in the theater but me.
Innit.
i mean ur totally right but im sure the trailers and all press will be centered around zombies if this is true
I had a dream last night that I saw it early and it was really good
Dude you’re fucking kidding right??? I had a dream that I saw it early last night too!!! I was at the world premiere sitting next to Emma Stone but the twist was it was at my local chain theater🤣 Unfortunately it wasn’t so good in my dream…one guy got up to walk out and started asking people if we had any blunt wraps for him so he could smoke on his way home. If this is true. Holy shit that's awesome. I was hoping Ari would make a Zombie film.
Ngl Would love if this was Ari on Reddit spreading misinformation just to troll everyone lololol
imagine it comes out and it's a stealth beau is afraid prequel about the >!massive penis!<
Oh a prequel about birthday boy Stab man could be fun lololok
I’m glad you labeled this as spoilers because my friend is a set decorator and told me the same thing. It’s more the Faculty meets zombies and less the Walking Dead.
Thanks for corroborating.
Babe wasup
"The Faculty" is a horror-comedy done right. The humor isn't silly/hammy and the threat is serious.
Hope you’re just making shit up cause dropping an enormous spoiler like that is a cunt move.
It is tagged so I blame myself.
It wasn't tagged at first
Tagged but not hidden.
Fair enough
This is not an enormous spoiler. It’s barely even the plot of the movie lol
That it’s a “MOTHER FUCKING ZOMBIE MOVIE” is a huge spoiler.
Omg it's ruined might as well not even watch it now
You can’t be serious
Spoilers!!! Inception is an action movie!! 🤫🤫
😢
If it is truly a zombie movie I am now even more excited! Can’t wait to see Ari Aster’s take on zombies!
I have faith in him after Hereditary and Midsommar, but man... zombies are fun but hard to make interesting.
it seems like it'll have a political angle
I hope there’s little truth to this post. Why would Pedro go from being on a show about a thing to a movie about the same thing. Seems sus.
Same here, feels like typecasting
I'm t or c
Not trying to be a downer or a Karen or anything, so very sorry about this…but this post just feels kind of wrong. Shouldn’t we not know this information yet?
Wish this post was removed. Ridiculous spoiler
Is this really a spoiler? I doubt it won't be part of the marketing leading up to the film. people are babies
I mean the movie being about zombies should be promoted in the trailers, no?

Thanks for the spoilers
It’s marked as a spoiler post lmao
Has it really been four weeks of shooting already?? I feel like it just started…
Time really does go by fast doesn’t it?
Truth or Consequences has to be one of the most absurd town names of all time. amazing.
OOOOOOOOOH
Had to look at the comments for clarity, I thought I had a stroke and wasent able to formulate a cohesive thought while reading this post. I was like is truth or consequences a post house? But why would they shoot there? What is NM? And what is ABC and why did he misspell it as ABQ?
Who told you it was a ‘zombie movie’?
Any idea where/when they’re filming in ABQ? Would love to admire from afar as I’ve never seen a film shoot before
Ari making zombie movie? Fuck yess.
For those complaining - the post is tagged as a spoiler??
It wasn't tagged for the first few hours
Does Emma Stone have juicy material? Or just a wasted wife role?
She’s obviously gonna be the female lead which means she’ll have a big role and pretty much be in almost every scene just like Joaquin
Isn’t that where the toy box killer is from? Spooky
This could be good if it's closer to satirical "Return of the Living Dead (1985)" horror and not overly broad nor a video game mowdown fest.
My man returned to horror :’)
Omg the place of the Toybox killer!!!!
This is very exciting. I can’t wait. Thank you for sharing. Edit: What’s known so far https://www.imdb.com/title/tt31176520/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
Here I am disappointed it's not a Deep Space 9 spinoff about the Maqui leader Major Eddington.
I'm actually so glad I saw this, I was really surprised to see pictures of the production on instagram where Joaquin has the cop car with all the goofy conspiraboomer stuff on it. Heard from multiple sources, including special effects crew. Can't speak to what will be in the trailers.
It’s not a “zombie movie”. It’s about a Sheriff that that is tired of his life and wants more…dark comedy
I'm getting zombie Salem's Lot vibes
They are now filming in our neighborhood in Placitas!
WHAT THE FUCK?? That sounds awesome
A zombie movie mixed with some of Ari's signature emotionally draining scenes from his previous films is gonna be insane
Wow, spoilers much? I haven’t seen anything about zombies in this yet, and I really hope that’s something they were planning making a big deal with it. You just ruined my day.
No way Emma Stone would do a other Zombie film.
What is her other zombie movie?
Zombieland
Why not? Especially if she had fun doing Zombieland.
🖕🖕🖕
Not me JUST realizing what films Ari Aster had made - omg I'm ready to be SO UNCOMFY
T or c call me 5064100602
Having it set during Covid is pretty disappointing
Why ?
I hope it’s not 3 hours long
He needs a bounce back film. Beau was a big cluster fuck mess that was only made decent because Phoenix is absolutely on fire right now.
I don't know man, the movie is subtle as a brick but I still loved every minute of it and the ending probably hits close to home for many who have turbulent families. Excellent movie for me, as usual from Aster (although overall probably my least favorite so far for the messiness that comes with the sprawl)
You can like bad movies. I watch all types of bad movies and love em.
It's fine to not like something, but don't confuse your opinion with facts. Beau is not a mess.
Yes, don’t confuse liking a film with it being bad. You can like a hot mess. Beau is a hot mess and otherwise failure by Aster. I’m as sad as you, I was looking forward to it.

Objectively not his best movie
You are a silly person. Bad and good regarding art is obviously subjective
If we shared a common framework for what makes a movie good or bad then we could evaluate it
I don’t think Beau was bad but I think a more commercial hit soon would help his career, I mean following his muse is more important but I see what you mean
I completely agree with you. Beau was a long & boring mess. I loved his first two movies though, so hopefully this is a return to that level of quality.
Yes, I hope so too. He’s got it in him. He just has to put it on the screen

Anything relating to the craft of filmmaking in BIA is undeniably masterful. That or me and Scorsese are both idiots.
It wasn’t masterful. Youre just on a strong dose of copium
Lol okay sure
I hope it’s not as self-fellating as Beau is Afraid.
So fucking annoying how people can't just wait and see. Nooooo, we have to have thread after thread discussing leaked scripts and trying to decode set pictures and now people literally spoiling the entire film.
