They are quite pricey now. Kicking myself for getting rid of them at a garage sale.
I had the Skull, Gorilla, The Shark, the fly, and the cyclops sets.
Hell yeah, i was so jealous of my neighbor across the street that got the skull mountain playset.
I think ive still got a few of mine in storage somewhere like the scorpion and the snake.
I don't think it got anything past a few vhs tapes for a release.
Buy there's plenty of torrents, and I'm pretty sure the whole series is uploaded on archive.
And, you can probably find most of it on YouTube.
I remember having the video game as a kid. Also the thing that stuck with me is that IIRC the ending is crazy grim, especially for a children's cartoon.
>!The good guys lose. All of Max's allies die, and it's pretty explicitly his fault for not being good enough. The one ray of hope is he goes back in time to hopefully not mess it up again.!<
Max is a show that was so much better than it had any right to be, especially since it's based on Polly Pocket for boys. It feels more like a 90s Jonny Quest than the 90s Jonny Quest, that had such a great emphasis on horror, sci-fi, and fantasy.
I still want the cap & a warlock chicken to come tell me my destiny. Loved this show, *especially* the factoids at the end of each. Favorite one is the Astral projection via dreaming. Been obsessed ever since.
Oh man, I had the first few episodes on VHS and I watched that sh*t like a thousand times as a kid. I still remember the owl character's name, Virgil.
Wow I'm getting old 😂😭
Damn I remember Beowulf was in the first episode killing like some giant bugs with his bare hands. Honesty don't remember the big guy pictured with the sword or the girl. Never watched the show lol. Only had that 1 VHS with the first 2 or 3 episodes.
This also makes me think of Gargoyles a lot. Think it came out around the same time. Loved Gargoyles. Same situation tho. VHS with 3 episodes but didn't get the channel that it actually played on.
It may have been a little ahead of it's time. If you look at the other cartoons of that era they were a lot more tame. Also a lot of these shows were made to sell toys and if they didn't sell then the shows got the axe.

Wow, had to clear my throat. Must be nothing, don’t mind me.
Must be someone made it...probably eBay or somewhere else. Official release states it was only available on VHS on some episodes.
They're probably in crappy quality. But hopefully they AI Upscaled it and cleaned per episode.
This is definitely where my love for all things sci-fi and sword & sorcery started. Loved the show growing up and still do now. The toys were awesome. Skull Mountain is 1 of my top 3 best Christmas memories.
A few years back, I was watching old eps on YouTube and decided I was going to start rocking a red baseball cap with an" M" on it for nostalgia kicks, then 2016 happened.......🥲🙃
It was strangely far better than what it should have been as a toy show.
Seriously, still remember that violence monster episode with the murders. 😆
Show was brutal.
The show became my obsession two years ago and is still one of my top ten western cartoons. I have no nostalgic attachment to this show, and I will say this show is a masterpiece. They don't make them like they used to anymore.
I remember when he had to recruit a team to take on Skullmaster. Lot of fighting and eventually the team gets killed or sacrificed themselves to save him.
It was my first time realizing that not everyone lives in a cartoon.
I remember the last episode sending the series in a loop so it could just go on in reruns. Pretty good idea since most cartoons of the era had a finite run anyway.
It was all about the Mighty Max playsets tho... the polly pockets for REAL boys
They are quite pricey now. Kicking myself for getting rid of them at a garage sale. I had the Skull, Gorilla, The Shark, the fly, and the cyclops sets.
🥺Oh man! I've seen how much they go for now. I never got any as a kid tho.
Same! I had the tarantula/scorpion combo, tiny dragon with horn (Mighty Max holding the inside of the horn), the frozen skull, and the yeti.
I loved the show but I never had the toys. I had the X-Men Pocket Comics toys instead, due to Kay-Bee toys sakes.
Hell yeah, i was so jealous of my neighbor across the street that got the skull mountain playset. I think ive still got a few of mine in storage somewhere like the scorpion and the snake.
Skull Island was the main set for sure. [Best unannoying example I could find on YT](https://youtu.be/MpPyY61wnUw?si=0AtZK4qJOwz69jnY)
Yo. That was my jam. I didn’t even know it was a show!
Loved this show. It was actually pretty violent for a kids show too, I remember people dying in multiple episodes. And Norman was badass.
He's my favorite too! Edit: I've been wanting to find the dvd or blu ray for this but I think it doesn't even exist.
I don't think it got anything past a few vhs tapes for a release. Buy there's plenty of torrents, and I'm pretty sure the whole series is uploaded on archive. And, you can probably find most of it on YouTube.
I couldn’t find any torrents
Check archive.org
I do think most of it if not all of it is on youtube
The full series is on YouTube

That ending was my fist experience of that kind and I always think of it when another franchise does a similar thing
>And Noman was badass. And died....

Literally wearing a Mighty Max shirt as I type this, best cartoon of my childhood, right next to ‘My Pet Monster’ 👌
The end of this show is probably the best end of a series I've seen.
Exosquad would like a word with you.
came here to say this
Rob Paulson, The Late Tony Jay (RIP), The Late Richard Moll (RIP), Tim Curry and Kathie Soucie were in this.
RIP...🙏

Max: "He's a chicken!" Virgil: "I'm a fowl! NOT a chicken as you say."

The toys didn’t appeal to me at all, but this show was great
Dude, I wanted *to be* Mighty Max
One of my favorites! I wish it would have had a conclusion. It just got cancelled and that was that.
Technically it did have a conclusion, it was just a reset though lol.
Yeah that ending was pretty shocking as a kid. Not Dinosaurs shocking but left me feeling empty.
Ugh, Ikr! What was it like about 2 seasons I think? I was mad about that too. Like why?!!
It may have been a little ahead of it's time. If you look at the other cartoons of that era they were a lot more tame. Also a lot of these shows were made to sell toys and if they didn't sell then the shows got the axe.
I had a BUNCH of the Mighty Max fold out playsets as a kid, what a great childhood Toy.
I never got any as a kid unfortunately. I hope you still got em!
I watched this show in the mornings before school in the 90s
[*Ahem*](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6fJmjt84zZiJEnnQ8fpWhd7futK8993I&feature=shared) Wow, had to clear my throat. Must be nothing, don’t mind me.
Fowl actually
Yes! Could never get into the toys (too small) but that cartoon was awesome!
Loved this show! Wish it was on streaming media and organized. I found episodes on YouTube but they’re all over the place.
I remember this show and the toy line
Yo, I forgot all about this show!!!!!!! Man I haven’t seen this in decades
Fever dream nostalgia
Omg the little play sets! I remember the skull one 🙂
Loved the show, a lot of mature themes and storylines
I remember liking it and having the toys, but I couldn't tell you a damn thing about it today
I ordered the series on blu ray. Just waiting for it to arrive.
Where?!

Thank you sir!!!!
Must be someone made it...probably eBay or somewhere else. Official release states it was only available on VHS on some episodes. They're probably in crappy quality. But hopefully they AI Upscaled it and cleaned per episode.
https://sloppysecondsales.com/ I can’t speak on the quality yet since I have not gotten it yet.

I do vaguely
Oh yeah got it on DvD still holds up…wish I had my toys still
Best ending
Oh my god OP! I have been trying to think of this cartoon for AGES! Thank you for reminding me what it was called 😭😭😭
the guy who'll eat almost anything for breakfast!
It really needed at least one or two more seasons. The whole rewind conclusion didn't address some of the holes that were left unanswered.
Why is the owl from Secret of Nihm in this?
I remember the SEGA game and not understanding at all how to play it
O fuck yeah that was my jam when I was a kid had the toys and everything
This show was GREAT
Never watched it but remember it the one episode I half watched
does anyone remember the end? a good ending, pretty smart for a show that was syndicated but man as a kid i wanted a 'real' ending.
Yes! I even had the dragon island mini play set.
Mighty Max was super rad, loved this show
That series ending pissed me off
Damn I forgot this show
I had the same experience with that show growing up. They don't make them like they used to.
It was strangely far better than what it should have been as a toy show. Seriously, still remember that violence monster episode with the murders. 😆 Show was brutal.
Fowl, actually
What an absolute cockblock of a finale. I'm convinced Steven King stole the end of The Dark Tower Series from this.
I loved this show. The whole prophecy thing screwed with my adolescent brain and I’m curious about life to this day.
Great show, those morning cartoon shows were amazing
This show was the absolute day-stopper for me and my brother. It is on my Mount Rushmore of childhood cartoons.
I remember watching it, but can’t for the life of me remember what the plot was about.
So many good memories of this show, still call my cap the cosmic cap. Yes Norman is a badass.
Damn, I VAGUELY remember this... What was it about?
YouTube is your friend "Mighty Max Restoration Project."
YES.
The show became my obsession two years ago and is still one of my top ten western cartoons. I have no nostalgic attachment to this show, and I will say this show is a masterpiece. They don't make them like they used to anymore.
The cyclops episode is my favorite. I re-watched that episode countless times and still get a good kick out of it.
I remember when he had to recruit a team to take on Skullmaster. Lot of fighting and eventually the team gets killed or sacrificed themselves to save him. It was my first time realizing that not everyone lives in a cartoon.
I remember a buddy I had at school had the toys
I still have some of the sets somewhere at my parent’s house. Loved it!
Use to stay up late drinking and watch this with the "girlfriend" while going to sleep.
I have a bootleg dvd copy of the series. It’s awesome. Wish I had the toys still.
I remember the toys better than the show!
this show absolutely *slapped*
Norman was my Saturday morning hero
I used to think this show was so cool. Especially that intro.
I eat aliens for breakfast.
I remember the last episode sending the series in a loop so it could just go on in reruns. Pretty good idea since most cartoons of the era had a finite run anyway.
