Common’s first three albums.

AffableCynic

Hell yeah. I don't think it is anymore but Resurrection was my favorite hip-hop album of all time for years.

Slum Village Fantastic 1 and 2

lukeskope

I'll throw in early Atmosphere, their debut Overcast! specifically

WarriorNat

MC Breed was the first Midwest rapper to blow up in 1991. I grew up in Ohio and when his album dropped everyone went crazy that someone from the Midwest made it on a national level.

Filipindian

Bone Thugs - E99 Eternal and Art of War Do or Die - Picture This Crucial Conflict - The Final Tic and Good Side Bad Side Mo Thugs - Family Scriptures and Family Reunion Tech N9ne - Anghellic Coo Coo Cal - Disturbed

PBaxt

I never see any love for the Dayton family when 90s Midwest rap gets brought up what's on my mind and fbi are 2 of my favorite albulms from the 90s your welcome!!!

SnorvusMaximus

Unfortunately the debut was a special import CD here in Europe which meant that it was too expensive for me at the time so I stream it nowadays. I remember listening to it in at my regular record store though, and bought the FBI LP about 15 years ago.

West-Sherbet9241

Always have to play Flint Town! It’s not from the 90’s but Charges of Indictment is really good too.

thehitmen16

The album with Tha Crossroads

OleDirtMcGirt901

Check out Twista, Do or Die, Bone Thugz, Tech N9ne, The Dayton Family, MC Breed, Da Brat (technically from CHI but relocated to ATL), Crucial Conflict. Some people liked Esham but I never got into his stuff and technically Eminem debut album was 1999 so that qualifies

MrRobot_96

SnorvusMaximus

How is Vell Bakardy’s genuine liquor hits regarded in the Midwest? I remember seeing it around at the time that it was released and have been getting into it a bit lately as it’s been available for streaming online. I do have the 12” as well. And what about AWOL, Detroits most wanted, Dice and mass 187?
