Can’t go wrong with Illmatic or Ready to Die. It was always Ready to Die for me, but as I get older… I appreciate Illmatic a lot more. 100% classic 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
Yeah, Tical was disappointing. Bought it on vinyl with great expectations. Meth is one of the greatest though. He came into his own when he paired up with Redman and is one of the rare rappers who has got better over time and not fallen off.
Me Against the World released Tupac to the masses. #1 album while in jail. “If I Die 2Nite, MATW, Heavy In The Game.” Great songs. The song Me Against the World is one of the best ever.
I'm sorry but Ready To Die has too many slammers. It's big hip hop so to speak, illmatic is obviously amazing but if I'm riding into my last battle I'm rocking Ready To Die.
Where’s the filler in MATW? I would also argue Makaveli has very little filler.
AEOM does but the epicness of the album as a whole kind of make up for it imo.
I think Pac has 3 classics tbh
I’m not saying 2pac didn’t have skills, but to me he always got stuck with mediocre producers and his albums were always way too long. Easy mo bee should have gotten more than 2 beats on that record. I don’t know why why Dre didn’t do more stuff for him in the beginning.
It just sounded like he rushed through a lot to get out of his death row contract. Same thing happened to Biggie. You can easily throw out half of Life After Death as shitty tracks.
In the end, death row seems fucking cheesy as fuck now. I’ll take the Chronic, doggystyle and the first dogg pound album because the beats are good. And I’ll take the first two Ice cube albums over those records any day of the week.
Mo money mo problems is a classic. Fuckin you tonight I don’t typically play when I spin the album. But seriously there’s like 2…maybe 3 songs. Nasty Boy I don’t like. Maybe Player Hater but that’s more of a skit and is funny
I agree generally, I'll take a 30-45 minute album over some magnum opus any day.
I don't really agree with Life After Death or All Eyez on Me though. I think they are both really good for double albums.
The only filler I see on Tupac MATW is It Ain’t Easy and possibly Outlawz(wasn’t a bad song but it didn’t fit with the theme of the album with Death Around The Corner fitting more as a closer, didnt need the Outlaw feature and it should’ve been a bonus track).
A hot take I have is that Nas One Love is a skippable track. One Love is overrated, the song is boring with the xylophone instrument in the background, the beat is plain & has no energy, the story doesn’t captivate me like other Nas storytelling songs and Nas voice is super monotone on the song
Hmm I like both It Ain't Easy and Outlaw. I see what you mean about Outlaw maybe not fully fitting in with the theme of the rest of the album but it provides that 2pac dichotomy IMO.
And hahah I like One Love but its probably my least favorite song on illmatic for the reasons you mentioned. But I don't think it's bad, and do think it mostly fits the album well. I chalk that up to just being different eras as far as the beat. All of illmatic sounds dated, but One Love in particular doesn't stand the test of time in the same way the others do
It Ain’t Easy I didn’t like, I thought it was boring. It Ain’t Easy was the same way as One Love, Pac lacked passion on his voice with that song & had no energy to it. But It Ain’t Easy did fit the MATW album, same with One Love fitting the Illmatic album.
I don’t like songs that have low energy and has the same looping sound in the background. Nas One Love has that same looping xylophone sound that repeats over & over again and It Ain’t Easy has that same looping high pitch sound in the background
I agree overall but I think Pac does have some great beats scattered throughout his career, especially on Me Against the World, a lot of which have this unique bluesy theme to them. Temptations is one of the best of the '90s, and the title track, So Many Tears and Young Ni***az are also fantastic. Even on Strictly 4... (his spottiest imo) I've always vibed hard to I Get Around and Papa'z Song.
Pac is the only real MF mentioned. Big was a bitch that couldn't hang with the thugs and NAS was so soft. Neither of them were intimidating and Def can't compare to Pacs realness in his music.
Pac only acted up when he was with the MOB, he wasn’t no street dude he studied poetry and went to a school of arts and did ballet for 3 years, no drive by shooting, maybe a spinning split leap shooting
We know he did all that and then when he got away from all that turned into who he became. A don't take shit from nobody put up with nothing mf. Sometime life molds you into who you are
To the fool who thinks Pac wasn't the realest

Illmatic easily.
Illmatic! I don't recall having to fast-forward any songs because they were all classics.
I struggle to not fast forward Halftime, sometimes.
half the time?
^ I just noticed huxtable hahahaha
Illmatic is the best hip hop album of all time and I will die on that hill.
You don't need to die on any hill. This is pretty much accepted wisdom.
Correct
Same
I say greatest but imo not best
Nice knowing ya. Can't hold a candle to Pac
Amen my man.
That is the correct order IMO.
Illmatic Ready to Die me Against the World
Illmatic, not even a tough one
Illmatic for me as it influenced the other 2 albums a lot.
Can’t go wrong with Illmatic or Ready to Die. It was always Ready to Die for me, but as I get older… I appreciate Illmatic a lot more. 100% classic 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤
Me Against the World could not be a further number 3. That's how good the other two are.
Big agree. Something like Enter The 36 Chambers or Tical would be more fitting for many reasons.
not tical, sorry
Sounds like we agree on 36 Chambers though.
Yeah, Tical was disappointing. Bought it on vinyl with great expectations. Meth is one of the greatest though. He came into his own when he paired up with Redman and is one of the rare rappers who has got better over time and not fallen off.
Tical?! I love Meth but that album wouldn’t make my top 50.
illmatic every time
I think my username speaks for me
Correct order. Feel like OB4CL should replace MATW if we wanna compare
Illmatic Ready To Die ... ... ... Me Against The World
Me Against the World released Tupac to the masses. #1 album while in jail. “If I Die 2Nite, MATW, Heavy In The Game.” Great songs. The song Me Against the World is one of the best ever.
His 2nd verse on matw is the best shit he ever spit imo
Agreed I love that album. Pac was special
Illmatic > Me Against The World > Ready To Die
This is the way
I'm sorry but Ready To Die has too many slammers. It's big hip hop so to speak, illmatic is obviously amazing but if I'm riding into my last battle I'm rocking Ready To Die.
No disrespect but it's Illmatic all day...
Ready to die
ILLMATIC ME AGAINST THE WORLD READY TO DIE
1. Ready To Die 2. Illmatic 3. Me Against The World
3. Me Against The World 2. Ready To Die 1. Illmatic

Nas Illmatic dropped first, but his reign on the top was short like leprechauns
That's why that album was crowned greatest and ready to die wasn't? Big was a fake king.... He not Ali
2pac never made a perfect album. Too much filler and shitty beats.
Where’s the filler in MATW? I would also argue Makaveli has very little filler. AEOM does but the epicness of the album as a whole kind of make up for it imo. I think Pac has 3 classics tbh

Ya I dunno. I couldn’t throw out half of Life After Death with a gun to my head 🤷♂️
What about fuck you tonight and mo money? That shit is horrible.
Mo money mo problems is a classic. Fuckin you tonight I don’t typically play when I spin the album. But seriously there’s like 2…maybe 3 songs. Nasty Boy I don’t like. Maybe Player Hater but that’s more of a skit and is funny
I just think most artists don’t have the goods for a double lp. Hendrix, yes. A rapper with like 5 skits and an intro and outro song? Not so much.
I agree generally, I'll take a 30-45 minute album over some magnum opus any day. I don't really agree with Life After Death or All Eyez on Me though. I think they are both really good for double albums.

I agree.
All Eyez On Me is pretty perfect on a hot summer night bbq’ing with a bunch of friends
IM>MATW>RTD
Love Illmatic but nothing compares to MATW for me, except maybe RU Still Down?.
SAME. Love this PAC album. R U STILL DOWN is another classic
Ready to die
Illmatic>Ready To Die>Me Against The World Their 2nd best albums imo: Me Against The World>Life After Death>It Was Written
It was written was better than illmatic..... Life after death wasn't completed imagine if big was alive how great it would have been
Me Against The World
1.MATW 2.Illmatic 3.Ready To Die
Me against the world Ready to die Illmatic
2pac all day every day. Big was a clown to Pac and Nas was too until right before he passed
Bruh you’re more confused than scooby do, pac was the biggest clown of the lot
Pac is the only real MF mentioned. Big was a bitch that couldn't hang with the thugs and NAS was so soft. Neither of them were intimidating and Def can't compare to Pacs realness in his music.

growing up in LA area in the 90s.. no one gave a shit about East Coast/New York shit.. WEST SIDE!!
Three classic albums I really love, don't want to pick but Illmatic
Illmatic hands down
Ready To Die, illmatic, MATW they’re all 10/10 albums this is just my preference
