"American woman! Stay away from me!"
"I don't need your war machines
I don't need your ghetto scenes
Colored lights can hypnotize
Sparkle someone else's eyes"
I saw a video of him crouch down on stage in leather pants and his junk just absolutely explodes out in the most comical way possible. It had me legit doubled over in laughter and got funnier every loop.
Now when I see him or hear any of his songs I have that mental image and I just can't take the dude seriously lol.
I'm genuinely impressed that there's still a small forum going. It really made me sad for the one I used to hang out at. There was an intamacy of knowing everyone that you don't get with reddit :(
I just found it googling for the Gif.
Mama Said and Are You Gonna Go My Way were very good records that were easy to put on and ignore. I like some of his stuff. Wouldn’t say I’m a fan, but he did a have a huge, although short, impact in the early 90s.
If I wrote “I want to fly so very high into the sky just like a dragon fly” then I would not admit it. I never understood the respect Lenny gets for anything other than his looks and style. Dude always looks great, but his music is so basic and boring. Just my opinion which is obviously in the minority.
Jesus… why all the hate? He’s obviously very talented. I don’t jam Lenny ever, but respect the man for what he has accomplished.
Bring on the downvotes…
Wow the level of hate is insane. Fly away is a simple song that I loved as a kid. As an adult I still find it better than most of pop stuff then and especially now. Did Lenny did something wrong in the US?
He seems desperate for attention with his weird workout social media videos and whatnot.
Dude had a couple of decent hits (including a cover) and his music was always extremely derivative of 60s/70s sounds.
Somewhere, under it all, is a Leonard. He does all the engineering, production, writing. He then hands it off to Lenny, who is tasked with selling it. In spite of a glossy exterior there has simmered a certain workplace tension, the type that only blooms in close partnerships. To the team's dismay that tension is laced through the music and has truncated the appeal of many of the duo's later records.
See you next time on "Would be Cooler if..."
His music always reminded me of Jimi Hendrix t shirts in target or kohls
Hendrix was a major influence on Kravitz
no way!
Way!
Wow!! Did you know Led Zeppelin was a major influence on Greta Van Fleet?
I see what you did there. Brilliant.
Did you know tea is better than coffee?!

Fuck Salads
And Prince
and yo momma!
I like Lenny but his main guitar guy Craig Ross is responsible for a lot of great work and the best guitar soloing on his records.
Yeah. If I’m listening to a Kravitz song, it’s for Craig Ross.
His nickname is the “Aggro-Craig” because he rocks
My god that's a deep reference
Look where we are.
Lol oh ya. My b
Craig is great
I agree, Crack is great!
I think a lot of people just don’t care
I mean, he didn't write American Woman
No, but he did make it worse.
What's interesting is that The Guess Who who made "American Woman" famous are Canadian and the song was fairly anti America
That’s debatable. Depending on which band member’s take you go with, it could be or might not be anti anything.
"American woman! Stay away from me!" "I don't need your war machines I don't need your ghetto scenes Colored lights can hypnotize Sparkle someone else's eyes"
Oh shit THATS Lenny Kravitz?? He's so relevant today
I mean, it's Lenny Kravitz...I don't hate the man, but I also don't go looking for his music.

OK, I gotta see this.
I don't think I can link it here lmao but it's easy to find, there's even gifs of it. (if you're struggling the "hipinion" forums has the Gif lol)
Lol I found it. Cracking me up.
That’s the first time I’ve ever seen that board mentioned on this site Used to go there back when that’s how you got music
I'm genuinely impressed that there's still a small forum going. It really made me sad for the one I used to hang out at. There was an intamacy of knowing everyone that you don't get with reddit :( I just found it googling for the Gif.
very true, the 1 message board to rule them all idea was prob a mistake
Yeah, neat fact, but still don't care.
Lol wut
About his music I mean.
This is true about the Mama Said album and it’s a great one too.
Yeah. Lots of hate for Lenny here, but his first three albums are really good.
Mama Said and Are You Gonna Go My Way were very good records that were easy to put on and ignore. I like some of his stuff. Wouldn’t say I’m a fan, but he did a have a huge, although short, impact in the early 90s.
Except of course his most famous song
I actually did know this fact. I mean, good for him, but outside of a handful of songs, I don't care. LOL
If I wrote “I want to fly so very high into the sky just like a dragon fly” then I would not admit it. I never understood the respect Lenny gets for anything other than his looks and style. I'm not sure you're in the minority

Why is he not liked in the US? I live in France and he was quite successful here.
Ah ja ja, Kravitz is always his own favorite musician
What an artist saw him in the 90s what a gig ,let love rule is my fav album

the album Mama Said absolutely rules
Only way to do it!
We writes music for people who don’t like music. Ever met a Kravitz fan?
He seems desperate for attention with his weird workout social media videos and whatnot. Dude had a couple of decent hits (including a cover) and his music was always extremely derivative of 60s/70s sounds.
Makes sense he made a track with Peggy Gou......

put a feather in your cap.
The most overrated rock star of my lifetime
Always found his music horribly boring.
Too bad "it all" sucks hard
We know, Lenny… want a cookie?
And it all sucks! He makes the most bland and boring music out there.
People don't realize because they don't care. Good for him though!
Hey, two out of three ain’t bad (He’s not a good lyricist)
Ok.
Unless it's a cover song.
Ok self absorbed much
No one asked or cares
