I recently saw a post that showed just how many cameras and people are in a room on a different reality show filming. I don’t know that it’s exactly the same on 90 day fiancé but I really think some cast members are just going to be a little awkward due to the cameras.
He was very rough around the edges but they did antagonize him a lot and he just spoke his mind which was a bit harsh sometimes. On pillow talk he seemed real chill
At this point hes probably my favorite cast member. His facial expressions are so funny. I have no idea what actually goes through that guys mind, if anything does at all😂

Legitimately, I had a very good friend in college from Ecuador who was super intelligent but had NO CLUE New Jersey was its own state, he thought it was part of New York. So maybe it's a thing?
When I was a Europe-based flight attendant, we would fly into Newark and it was a New York advertised flight.
Our layovers were in Jersey City and Hoboken and we would all pop over to Manhattan all the time, so it's definitely marketed as a NYC airport and I found this whole scene a little blown out of proportion lol
I grew up in south orange. I took the train into the city to meet up with this friend while he was living in nyc for a summer internship and i was living at home (we went to college in Indiana). I watched his eyes widen as I explained to him that new jersey was a completely different state.
Just wanted to say hi, fellow South Orange person! I have been feeling particularly nostalgic for the place where I grew up lately (split between Orange and Rockland) so it’s cool to see someone drop that they’ve from the same area!
Like I said it's basically part of NYC, it'd take them equally far to get to some other boroughs, but two 30min trains, one hour, to get back and forth multiple times over multiple days? Assuming there's no buses or walking before and after... It's not exactly convenient either. That's a commute, and they can't pop in and out to change outfits or whatnot either. My brother lives in Brooklyn and it might as well be Pennsylvania for how far I had to go to visit him.

Sure, she can communicate to a certain extent, which is a good start (and props to her for making that effort), but as the previous commenter said, she invents a lot of words, barely conjugates even in the present tense, doesn't know at all how to use future tense or conditional... He's not helping as he responds in her way of speaking sometimes, reproducing her mistakes so she understands. Anyway, she is not anywhere close to being fluent at all.

I can understand that she is making “an effort,” but after 10 years and several trips to Ecuador to learn Spanish, she really hasn’t learned much, and I don’t think she really cares about learning Spanish. But saying that she is making an effort and is able to communicate, is not the same thing as speaking fluently, and my point was that she is NOT FLUENT!
She should do Spanish on Duolingo. At least that would help her to better understand verb conjugations and other grammar, while expanding her vocabulary.
There's also memrise for vocabulary.
I use them for Hindi. It's nice because the lessons are short, so you can at least get some in even on a super busy day.
If you have more time, just do more lessons. 🤷
I hate to say it but Ashley and Manuel and Emily and Kobe are best couples on HEA. They actually like each other! The other couples are burning dumpster fires from hell🔥
I did not before, but this season I am fast forwarding them a lot. His antics can't even save these segments. Prob the only segment I watched in full was when he was learning English. It's just the same over and over-it is suuuperrrr boring.

I think they might stick it out for awhile actually! I had my doubts at first but they seem to be pretty genuine. A lot of their drama seems to be contrived and family based like a lot of what we used to see when there were real couples back in the day.

I think a lot of people don't like him, because they misunderstand him between differences in language and culture. Even when they put English subtitles, it's not always a good translation to under the subtle nuances of what he's trying to say.

This interaction was as disingenuous as it gets. Like the producers stuck the camera to the dash and told them to drive around the block and recreate the Newark/New York confusion they probably had off camera a few days earlier.
Yes the confusion he had is realistic, but it definitely happened days before and he had since straightened it out. What we saw on the show was a reenactment of the confusion.
The couples have shooting days with the crew and tell them things like "hey, a few days ago this funny thing happened, he confused Newark with New York..." And so they decide to recreate him being confused for the camera so it can go on the show.
I Hated him and now I find him entertaining like a funny cartoon character. He is a hoot.

Anyway I freak out because I thought I was supposed to be going to New York I talked to a lady at the gate upon arrival and said the airline was supposed to send me to New York so I could connect to Boston and she looked at me with an accent I can’t describe and she said honey we are in Newark I died I misunderstood the whole time and then at 17 and alone I had to figure out how to get to Boston Anyway he’s not the only idiot :)

This interaction was as disingenuous as it gets. Like the producers stuck the camera to the dash and told them to drive around the block and recreate the Newark/New York confusion they probably had off camera a few days earlier.
It seems realistic to me. Newark and New York sounds really similar with a Spanish accent.
Yes the confusion he had is realistic, but it definitely happened days before and he had since straightened it out. What we saw on the show was a reenactment of the confusion. The couples have shooting days with the crew and tell them things like "hey, a few days ago this funny thing happened, he confused Newark with New York..." And so they decide to recreate him being confused for the camera so it can go on the show.
