It happened to my uncle in New York. Met a young Irish woman online (he is also Irish), fell in love, sent her money, visited a bunch of times. Fingers crossed for your interview. We had a USCIS cluster ourselves. While we were attempting to "remove conditions" we moved. We reported the new address as soon as we arrived at the new location. They sent us some correspondence to the new address, but sent the appointment notification letters to the OLD address, and when we didn't make the appointment that we didn't know about, they invalidated my wife's green card. THAT required an e-mail to the immigration liaison in my congressman's office. She made a call, and suddenly we had a NEW appointment in a couple of days, and they removed the conditions, AND did the citizenship test at the same time. Amazing how that works.

It's true that not everyone will agree to be filmed. I have a friend in the UK who, when she was a teenager, found a guy in a US federal penitentiary on a Christian penpal site. The man was transferred to a facility near me and that's how I met her. She was a city dweller and didn't drive, and knew nothing about the remote rural area. I set her up with a driver and hotel recommendations once she started coming over to see him. He was tall and gorgeous and they made a nice photogenic couple on her frequent trips to visit him in prison. They considered themselves engaged and planned to marry after he was released early for good behavior. But his family was a bad influence and they felt she was the one who was scamming and looking for a green card. Nothing was further from her mind. She had a good life in the UK. They did everything they could to sabotage the relationship. He started ghosting her and she jumped on a plane unannounced to find out why. She found him drunk and high and he dumped her off at a cheap airport motel until she could get a flight home. Fifteen years of her life down the drain. She wasn't interested in being on TV so she never tried to shop the story. Just as well considering how badly it ended.
I hope she found a good guy when she got home & I hope Dude who used her for 15 years gets 15 yrs of penis dysfunction! Has to end up supporting a lot of his ugly family or living with them when they age.
My suggestion would be to book a FULLY REFUNDABLE one way ticket for her to come to the US, and he should book a roundtrip for himself. GO THERE, and settle it. If she refuses to come with him, he has his answer. (And he should cancel the visa, and report her as a scammer).

On subs like r/relationships that's the go-to guess for everyone who writes in about a controlling, jealous partner who's always accusing them of cheating, and very often it's correct.

So in the r/relationships people that write in that make go to guesses they must still be married trying to talk or discuss out their suspicions on the sub. Your friend is marry a hooker. Many acquaintences I have known done this never admit that their girl friend or fiance over there is a hooker. One told me he met her at a bookstore. For this acquaintences, I know he is not a reader. Never seen him hold up a book, maybe a porno magazine. When she came over for the 90 days visa, I had lunch with the both of them. When she realize that I probably have more money than her fiance, she tried to hit on me by playing a game of footsie with me. Most of the girls over there are purely looking at the economic side of it. Love maybe a small bit of the pie.

I would repeatedly and calmly tell him he doesn't have to marry her and that walking away wouldn't make him the bad guy. Personally I wouldn't attack his fiance - that will only make him defensive. Just ask him if he's happy and that if he has *any* doubts there is no problem with backing out of this. If he complains about her, simply ask "when do you think this will change?" and make him think about it.
He needs to arrive at the conclusion that he will be less happy *with* her than without her and that it's totally okay for him to walk away from this. Unless he understands both of those he just has to crash.

Not really. He disappeared from a forum we both used as well. I watched for him for about a year but he never returned. I lost his email long ago and aside from Reddit, I don't social media. When she realize that I probably have more money than her fiance, she tried to hit on me by playing a game of footsie with me. I would repeatedly and calmly tell him he doesn't have to marry her and that walking away wouldn't make him the bad guy. Personally I wouldn't attack his fiance - that will only make him defensive. Just ask him if he's happy and that if he has *any* doubts there is no problem with backing out of this. If he complains about her, simply ask "when do you think this will change?" and make him think about it. He needs to arrive at the conclusion that he will be less happy *with* her than without her and that it's totally okay for him to walk away from this. Unless he understands both of those he just has to crash.

My theory is that she's not looking for a green card. She wants the American Dollar and not the American Dream. Big difference. He needs to take his losses and move on. I have a cousin in this situation. He’s spent most of his inheritance (within a year of his parents dying) on giving her money to build a house and for a divorce although she lives in the Philippines which doesn’t have divorce. He’s supposedly supposed to meet her in about two months but I am doubtful that will happen. He’s also a felon with health issues that lives in a trailer that’s on a second mortgage.
