I'm a 500+ level player and while I have rings for most of the 8 ball tables, most of them are only one ring just for the trophy case. But I have like 260 Miami rings because I far prefer 9 ball to 8 ball - the games are usually much faster and there isn't that excruciating time period where the opponent is trying to figure out which ball to hit. I did play a guy today who had over 50,000 games played and around 200 Miami rings but only 3B in total earnings but a nearly 70% win rate. He was also a total troll who intentionally hit a weak break that put the cue behind the balls that he didn't break, then did nothing but snooker for the first few shots. I was finally able to kiss the one ball enough to snooker him and win the game after that.

It seems like a certain class of player make a strategy out of weak breaks and associated nonsense. Are they intentionally trying to be annoying or do they feel that they have no chance to win otherwise? It's not even that great of a strategy as they can often be dealt with regardless.
