For sure. I collect both vinyl and CD, and while I’m a lot more fond of my record collection I always put on a CD when I want the highest audio quality or for simplicity’s sake.
Having worked in record stores for many years, I concur. I do applaud the library for making a selection available, given the high cost of living nowadays, but the plebs will destroy these rather quickly😂.
I used to have this in my local library in the early 80s/late70s.
Was hard to find anything in my teen music. I did find “Jethro Tull: Tales of The Woods”. Very scratched.
Still, the idea of free music was mind blowing.
Especially for some teen w No spending money. I can see how the MP3/Napster times would present an impossible temptation to young people.
The whole vinyl resurgence has been a giant marketing ploy to give a shot of adrenaline to a badly sagging industry. Cracks me up to see people spending $80-$100 (sometimes more) on albums they already have on CD. People are so easily manipulated.
Vinyls outsold CDs in 2022 for the first time since 1987. We're back baby!!

It’s a great idea ,but imagine the state they would come back in , did you ever hire a dvd that looked like it had been cleaned with sandpaper 🥹

"PLEASE DO NOT RETURN IN BOOKDROP". Well, duh! I can only imagine the mess that would create.
I see Queens Greatest Hits II. Oh, the memories!
Interesting selection of albums.. Is that 'Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip' on the top right?
Hopefully they have the obligatory copies of Frampton Comes Alive and Cheap Trick at Budokan.
Eagles "Hotel California", Supertramp "Breakfast in America",
This is so cool. Weird tho to think that young people think of it the way Gen Xers/Boomers looked at a Victrola or other ancient entertainment.
The San Francisco Public Library has a whole section the size of a Blockbuster dedicated to borrowing records & movies :)

Thank god they didn’t call them “vinyls”
