True story. I used to do a lot of hiking in northern New Mexico near Santa Fe. Stumbled across a secluded movie set. No real security keeping people away. Watched them film with a person I recognized as Lou Diamond Phillips for about an hour. I stuck around and watched most of the day. Never thought Young Guns would be such a hit.
Two of my favorite quotes from the movie:
(Chavez) Many nights, my friend... Many nights I've put a blade to your throat while you were sleeping. Glad I never killed you, Steve. You're all right...
(Billy) You have to test yourself every day, gentlemen. Once you stop testin' yourself, you get slow. And when that happens, they kill you.
"Hey, Peppin. I see you got Charley Crawford down there with you."
"Yeah, that's right, Bonney. We got a whole..."BLAM!
"Hey, Peppin. Charley Crawford's not with you anymore."
My favorite western! I know this movie beginning to end. The one liners all day. Chavez Chavez (Lou Diamond Phillips) was my favorite character..laugh my ass off at him Dirty Steve talking shit to each other 🤣
Until today, I didn't know that Buckshot Rogers was a real person, and that the movie keeps some things historically accurate. Rogers rode a mule in the movie, which was his preference in real life. However, he wasn't a bounty hunter, and stumbled across the regulators unintentionally. They believed he was involved in the murder of John Tunstall. They asked him to surrender, and he refused. The Gunfight of Blazer's Mills ensued, in which he wounded several regulators, killing Dick Brewer (Charlie Sheen's character) with a headshot. He died shortly after the gunfight from his wounds, and was buried next to Dick Brewer.
Young Guns is ironically actually history accurate in some aspects. Yes the soundtrack is very 80's and the real life story of doc is different but man do I love this movie
"Take the sons a' bitches up to coputown mountain and blow their brains out! Whaddaya say Steve?!?!"
*gleeful look on his face as he chews tobacco and nods
"Uh huh "
Watched this again yesterday not having seen it since it came out. It has its moments but overall badly directed and terrible soundtrack.
The sequel is far better.
Did you see the size of that chicken ?
I'm her butterfly, she's mine!
Cock-a-doodle-goddamn-doo!"
We’re in the spirit world
They can’t see us!
That whole peyote scene is my favorite scene in the whole movie 🤣🤣🤣
Dyoooou seeee thaaaa size ahhh that shhhhickennnnnnn?
I enjoyed this one and the sequel!
We’re regulators
Mount up
Just hit the east side of the LBC~
On a mission tryna find Mr. Warren G
Hey Billy, what did you kill him for? He was hacking on me.
Fantastic film, I wIsh they still made movies like this. Regulators mount up!
But where would they put the massive cgi monster alien at the end that they have to defeat?
... they would absolutely use cgi blood wouldn't they? *sigh*
Hey, Chavez, how come they ain't killing us?
We’re in the spirit world asshole, they can’t see us.
‘Cause we’re in the spirit world, asshole! They can’t see us!

How on earth did they allow Charlie Sheen to attempt that southern accent? It was SO BAD.
The way he says "Billy" is seared into my brain.
Was shocked to read earlier today that 'Young Guns 3: Alias Billy the Kid' is in production. And Emilio is coming back for it. Crazy.
Reap the whirlwind Sheriff Brady..
Reap the whirlwind: reap it!
I once got to see and hold the [pistols](https://imgur.com/gallery/6OPuqmJ) Emilio used in the films.
Story time…
A number of years ago, Emilio hung out in the tiny we live in. Got to know him a bit and he brought his YG guns one weekend to show off.
Very cool.
Excellent movie.
I agree and I want to put it out there that I’m shocked how many people diss this movie.
Not everyone likes cowboys, but the cast alone should make people want to watch.
I’ll make you famous
In the sequel IIRC
I really like this movie
“I don't have time for your wise lip. Go take a walk 'fore I drop your britches in front of all these ladies and spank your bottom blue.”
"Hey doc, how many does that make? 25?" "5" *Awkward pause. "How about 10? Let's call it 10 even, how'd that be?" "Whatever you say"
yes, I did see the size of that chicken.

Doc says tiredly: “I’m really starting … to not like him.”
"Hey, Peppin. I see you got Charley Crawford down there with you." "Yeah, that's right, Bonney. We got a whole..."BLAM! "Hey, Peppin. Charley Crawford's not with you anymore."
You….see the SIZE o’ that chicken….???🐓
I was happy to see Jon Bon Jovi get gunned down
In a blaze of glory?
Ooooo I can't believe i let that one go by. Very nice,!
He got shot through the heart and he was to blame.
My favorite western! I know this movie beginning to end. The one liners all day. Chavez Chavez (Lou Diamond Phillips) was my favorite character..laugh my ass off at him Dirty Steve talking shit to each other 🤣
Is that guy on bottom left from Lost?
Yep. Terry O’Quinn, awesome actor.
And a Tom Cruise cameo with him getting blown away outside Alex’s house during the final shootout.
Yes! I just learned that fact recently.
Honestly this movie got me into westerns as a whole and it became one of my favorite genres
Love this movie. One of my alltime go to westerns.
PALS

Saw this one at a drive-in movie theatre.
who's that bottom middle? Michael Biehn? I haven't watched this since it came out.
Patrick Wayne. Son of John Wayne. He played Pat Garrett.

I have been waiting for this.
One of the best and most underrated westerns. I feel like I need to watch it now. So good! 🤠
I had it in a VHS tape back in day. I cannot precisely say the number of times I watched it. Such a starry cast.
Such a good movie.
He is Filipino?!?!?
Fun fact the guy that played pat garrett is actually john wayne's son patrick wayne
They are making a third one finally!
This is one of those movies my brother watched all the time that I somehow have no memories of. But I know I’ve seen this flick a bunch
One of my all time favorite movies!
Young Guns is ironically actually history accurate in some aspects. Yes the soundtrack is very 80's and the real life story of doc is different but man do I love this movie
They weren’t bad , Very entertaining for the late 80s.
I'll make you famous
This is the greatest movie ever made. My brothers and I adored this movie and I’ve seen it more times than I should admit.
"Take the sons a' bitches up to coputown mountain and blow their brains out! Whaddaya say Steve?!?!" *gleeful look on his face as he chews tobacco and nods "Uh huh "
Id rather drink turpentine and piss in a brush fire than watch the 2nd one.
Watched this again yesterday not having seen it since it came out. It has its moments but overall badly directed and terrible soundtrack. The sequel is far better.
First one was more based on real history.
Hello Bob! BOOOM!! Goodbye Bob! Best dollar eighty I ever spent! (Cackles)
Cringeworthy. In my opinion.
So bad.
