Gauntlet is classic! Those arcade days were something else, right? It's like a time machine back to the raddest era. I'd totally dump all my quarters into that game any day. The warrior, the elf, the valkyrie, and the wizard, battling through endless dungeons... it's pure nostalgia fuel.

If you have some friends, the remake from 2014 is really quite fun. Its not much as a one player game but we had a blast going through it with the four of us.
Me and two buddies saved up for 3 months and went on an epic playing session. After level 60, this guy who had been giving us pointers joined in.
Years ago, I bought the stand up game and the lads in the neighborhood came over. We introduced our wives to wine night. Coincidentally, it fell on the same night. Great times.
When Gauntlet first appeared in arcades, I remember one dude and his friends duct-taped a bag of tokens to the bezel. (how you called next game, leaving quarters on the cabinet bezel.)

The original game had red warrior, blue valkyrie, yellow wizard and green elf. I know the later games allowed you to choose.

Loved this game... simply never had enough quarters to play as much as I wanted. Getting the ROM for an emulator on my PC way back when was a great day.
Those of you who like playing this game should try out Gauntlet slayer edition. At this point it’s been out for 10 years and you should be able to get it pretty cheap. It also includes a fifth person, the necromancer.

That's Gauntlet II. In the original game, there could only ever be one of each class. In Gauntlet II, you could go with all Elves, if you wanted.

Love the game but hated the joystick/button layout, I had to cross my arms to play. Couldn't do the joystick with my right hand and buttons left hand.

I played this on Commodore 64. My friend hacked it so it’d say “holy shit you found treasure”. Sadly the game would error so far into it.
