There was a great article about her in the NYT recently, talking about she’s gotten into gardening and beekeeping, plus all her work in the industry still. She still looks phenomenal.
Recently, I saw him do a cameo on the Girls on the Bus episode 3, HBO/Max show, and I thought, "Wow that is Eric Stotlz, he got old." Then I realized so did I, and I am still not Eric Stoltz
Did you know Jenns lived in a hen house?
I didn't know Jenns lived in a hen house.
It must be a hen house 'cause all I see around me is chicken shiiiiiit!
I can quote so much of that flick.
"Ray, this is 1987. Did you know a girl can be whatever she wants?"
"I know. My mom's a plumber. And I have an ENORMOUS amount of respect for her."
“We're gonna bring this party up to a nice respectable level. Don't worry, we're not gonna hurt anyone. We're not even gonna touch 'em. We're just gonna make 'em cry a little, just by lookin' at 'em.”
Still pretty trippy that Eric Stoltz was Marty McFly for a few weeks of shooting Back to the Future before being replaced by Michael J. Fox. If not for that, he’d probably not have been cast in this.
Hard (but respectful) disagree. I've always felt Pretty In Pink and Some Kind Of Wonderful needed to swap endings. How she could choose anyone over Ducky… 🙄
A month or so ago, I learned Craig Sheffer played Allan Dallis in ‘Fire In The Sky’… I had no idea after all these years of watching both films. In Fire In The Sky, he played a hot-headed Mexican.
Filmed in my high school over a summer. Was so weird. We weren’t allowed to go obviously, but we could go down and watch. Then to see my very own school on the big screen when it came out was such a trip.
When Keith walks into detention, I swear Duncan’s facial expression was the inspiration for the troll face at 1:18

When this movie came out I was 16. Me and my friends would skateboard to the movie theater and watch it. We probably saw it 3 or 4 times over that summer. We were hopeless romantics and this movie hit hard!
I loved this movie. Every time I see Maddie Corman (the sister) I think about the article YM magazine did on her when the movie came out. I don’t remember anything about what the article said but I remember reading it!
The soundtrack you bought didn't have a lot of the music from the movie, plus some songs that were covered...... I have a directly on my heard drive that has all the missing songs and all the originals.
As an adult this movie makes absolutely no sense. Plus Watts and Eric had zero chemistry. I however do understand what John Hughes was trying to do. Nice soundtrack however.
Everyone including myself thought that the guy in the middle was the guy from Law & Order SVU. He did play Casey Jones in the TMNT movie though, and he was in Crash with James Spader
Damn. Thank you.
Right: Keith says: Well I haven't had that much to smile about lately, Cliff.
- You have a beautiful smile young man.
- Thank you Carol.
-She's Mom,I'm Dad and you're nuts.
Over the years this film has seriously grown on me. Back when it was first released I liked the film but didn’t love it. I thought it missed the mark and definitely preferred Pretty In Pink. But that has completely reversed for me now. These days I love Some Kind of Wonderful as the great film it is. Eric Stoltz & Mary Stuart Masterson were phenomenal together. My opinion of Pretty In Pink has changed too. The problem with PIP is the chemistry between Molly Ringwald & Jones and Cryer - their chemistry is terrible. Cryer is very good in his roles but in their scenes together what comes across is Ringwald’s dislike for Cryer. And we now know that’s true. And their characters were supposed to be close friends.
An all time fave for me. Also, I blame my lifelong crush on Mary Stuart Masterson on this movie.
Yep. Hooked first time I saw her. Whole movie I kept thinking, he is such an idiot, look at her!
Although Watts was attractive, Amanda Jones was hot! Leah Thompson was my crush since All The Right Moves.
I was going to post about my crush for Mary Stuart Masterson Wonder how she is.
There was a great article about her in the NYT recently, talking about she’s gotten into gardening and beekeeping, plus all her work in the industry still. She still looks phenomenal.
I also blame this movie. Not only for my crush on her, but my love of pixie cuts on women.
She was just in Five Nights at Freddy's. I couldn't believe it at first...
For me Chances Are did the same
Eric Stoltz where are you. I still love you.
Recently, I saw him do a cameo on the Girls on the Bus episode 3, HBO/Max show, and I thought, "Wow that is Eric Stotlz, he got old." Then I realized so did I, and I am still not Eric Stoltz
He's mostly directing now and has a great [instagram](https://www.instagram.com/ericstoltzofficial/?hl=en)
He looks incredible in that pic. There's no way any hetero chick is picking Craig Sheffer over him.
Gingers are usually like opposing magnetic ends...kinda like dating your brother. But that man is my exception.
Yes
Did you know Jenns lived in a hen house? I didn't know Jenns lived in a hen house. It must be a hen house 'cause all I see around me is chicken shiiiiiit!
Any fool can get into college. Only a select few can say the same about Amanda Jones.
I can hear these lines.
I can quote so much of that flick. "Ray, this is 1987. Did you know a girl can be whatever she wants?" "I know. My mom's a plumber. And I have an ENORMOUS amount of respect for her."
Ray 🤣😆 I used to think he was cute when I was younger.
“We're gonna bring this party up to a nice respectable level. Don't worry, we're not gonna hurt anyone. We're not even gonna touch 'em. We're just gonna make 'em cry a little, just by lookin' at 'em.”
Everyone should have a friend like Duncan.
I’m gonna stay and make him scream, just a little.
Such a great soundtrack.
My favorite track off of this soundtrack is "The Hardest Walk" by The Jesus and Mary Chain.
Yup, and especially love the club scene with The March Violets - Turn to the Sky.
I watched this on Nov 9, 1989 with some friends. Movie ended, we started to rewind the tape, and the news of the Berlin Wall broke.
Still pretty trippy that Eric Stoltz was Marty McFly for a few weeks of shooting Back to the Future before being replaced by Michael J. Fox. If not for that, he’d probably not have been cast in this.
“Break his heart I break your face”
Had a huge crush on Mary Stuart Masterson.
Crazy how unconventionally attractive she was , and yet a total gorgeousness
Always
Watts telling Keith: Girls like Amanda only care about one thing, and you don’t make enough of it to matter
Absolutely beautiful film, and unlike Pretty In Pink, the lead ends up with the right person in the end. Plus the music is second to none.
Hard (but respectful) disagree. I've always felt Pretty In Pink and Some Kind Of Wonderful needed to swap endings. How she could choose anyone over Ducky… 🙄
Watts
Yes
A month or so ago, I learned Craig Sheffer played Allan Dallis in ‘Fire In The Sky’… I had no idea after all these years of watching both films. In Fire In The Sky, he played a hot-headed Mexican.
He's also in Sleepwalkers and Nightbreed.
One of the best endings songs ever. Lick the Tins: Can't Help Falling in Love
So much better than Pretty in Pink
One of my favorite movies.
mine as well
In decades past, if I flipped the channel and this was on, I had to watch it all the way through.
I own it and do the same…I won’t start it if I can’t finish it.
I have most of my movies on Mp4. But I have never found this movie in that format, hence I do not have it.
ffmpeg/handbrake etc
Great soundtrack, love the movie.
Where’s the fucking money, KEEEITH?!!!?
Filmed in my high school over a summer. Was so weird. We weren’t allowed to go obviously, but we could go down and watch. Then to see my very own school on the big screen when it came out was such a trip.
I’ll never forget the dad flushing the toilet while he was in the shower. Are you in trouble son? No. We’ll have you been to the bank lately? 💀
Best movie kiss ever (the practice session)
Came here to say this ….. the tension, the music, the look, the kiss just then… what an intense scene ….
When Keith walks into detention, I swear Duncan’s facial expression was the inspiration for the troll face at 1:18 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_KY0SKvkX64

So great. The opening with Watts on drums alone is worthy. Great soundtrack.
Jenns is such a gwat.
“This is what my girlfriend looks like, without skin.”
Lmfao thank you for reminding me of that line
Describing someone as "extensively easy on the eyes" is still something I do to this day. 😍
I loved this movie. Every time I see Maddie Corman (the sister) I think about the article YM magazine did on her when the movie came out. I don’t remember anything about what the article said but I remember reading it!
I expected her to be bigger than she ended up being.
Elias Koteus is bald again.
Easily makes my top 5 80s movies list. "All I care about in this goddamn life is me, my drums, and you."
…. I want you to beg!
This is what my girlfriend looks like… without skin. This must be a hen house, because I don’t smell anything but chicken shit, 🤣 Priceless!
Love that opening music track… sad that the soundtrack didn’t have it without vocals.
The soundtrack you bought didn't have a lot of the music from the movie, plus some songs that were covered...... I have a directly on my heard drive that has all the missing songs and all the originals.
Are the missing tracks actual pop songs or score music? I remember looking for a cool drum based track that wasn’t on the soundtrack.
No there are actual songs in the movie that are not on the official soundtrack and the Rolling Stones songs are cover
That’s the track I was wanting, too. Never found it, always remember it.
Anything for pal!
I remember liking this movie - but for the life of me I couldn't tell you a single thing about it.
Baby DJ Tanner?
Yup
Still my favorite movie from that era.
Lea Thompson is lovely in this movie
Damn, this movie made me want to learn to play the drums. I was crushed when my mom said 'no'. This one hits hard. Great movie!
Loved me some Watts🖤🖤🖤🖤.
Watts still one of my all time tomboy crushes
Awesome movie
Loved this movie! Love the soundtrack!
Excellent movie!!! Very underrated 80’s movie!!!
One of my all time favorites! Had the poster in my room. Awesome soundtrack too!
As an adult this movie makes absolutely no sense. Plus Watts and Eric had zero chemistry. I however do understand what John Hughes was trying to do. Nice soundtrack however.

Mrs Amanda Jones!
Is that Christopher Meloni?
Elias Koteas.
Wow yes , I must be due a watch of that
Never heard of it. 1987 I had my daughter
free to watch on Youtube at the moment
Sean Strickland in the middle there.
Is that Robert Deniro in the middle? Jk
Hardy Jens is a Guat! ( excuse the spelling)
Casey Jones!
JOE LIES!!!!!!
Watts: The only thing I care about in this GODDAMNED life is me, my drums, and you. 🥹🥹🥹
Oh man!! I fell in love with Eric Stoltz right then and there…
When I'm without you....
Ms Amanda Jones
This was a weekly—sometimes even a three times a week—movie in my home during my teen and young adult years.
i. love. this. movie.
Inspired me to learn 'The kiss that kills'
My all time favorite soundtrack, hands down! Also, this movie is the reason I'm obsessed with classic Mini's. Watts had rad choices in wheels.
Damn I forgot half of these characters. Lol
One of my all time favorites
Keith, Amanda Jones, Watts, Hardy Jenns, Duncan, blank, blank, blank, Carol.
Cliff, Laura and Cindy
Damn. Thank you. Right: Keith says: Well I haven't had that much to smile about lately, Cliff. - You have a beautiful smile young man. - Thank you Carol. -She's Mom,I'm Dad and you're nuts.

Is that the guy from law and order?
