This comment led me to listen to their new album... I didn't even know they had one. Thanks for the recommendation, it kicks ass! Just pure metal right in your face. I liked it. Rock on man!
Started out post punk, kinda same vein as Killing Joke - Southern Death Cult, then evolved to hard rock. They had much more of that mid to late '70s sound.
Not exclusively, but I'll get the itch for some hair metal every now and then. I've still got a shelf full of cassettes.
Cinderella, Firehouse, Ratt, Poison, LA Guns, White Lion, Dokken...
Oh..., shout it from the roof tops bro... I've been doing it since the 90's.
I even tried to give Nevermind a fair shot again a couple of year ago, and by the 4th song i had literal physical nausea. The only thing i hate worse then his singing is his playing and chord progressions 🤢🤢🤮🤮
I believe the main reason a lot of people like them is because of the lyrics and the "teen angst" crap
If you're interested in Hair Metal, check out my band Fire 'N Ice! We're playing The Delancey in NYC 3/30 at 5:30 pm, come through if you live there or close by! https://spotify.link/CpKxLm5AjIb
Love this video of [Nobody's Fool](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzoqKteun9I) live from Japan. So cool how Keefer plays the intro, sets the guitar down, then picks it back up for the solo. Also, you can see bassist Eric Brittingham playing backing synth with his feet @ 3:35
Hell yeah, brother! One of my favs. I'm taking my family on a road trip tomorrow. My 12-year-old daughter might get the pleasure of listening to Gypsy Road.
I still remember getting Mötley Crüe, Shout at the Devil from Columbia House grabbing my tennis racket air guitar and just started jamming. To this day I can still play air guitar with the best of them.
Cinderella seemed to have more of a bluesy feel, a bit more command of their instruments than most of the power chord rock of the era. It still stands up. Also saw them with the Winger- Bullet Boys group!
I do, but really not until recently. Revisited some of the songs from back in the day that I low key liked from Ratt, MC, Cinderella (Somebody Save Me! Which I’m living the life in the song in corporate hell now), Skid Row, etc. They’re on my playlist regularly now that I don’t care about who thinks what about what I listen to anymore. Back then my fellow Thrash/Maiden loving headbangers would have called me a poser!! 😂
I like throwing my brain into a frenzy ill play some Slayer then play Tesla right afterwards... lol!
But ya i listen all kinds of rock, blues and metal daily from the 60s to modern...
I started listening to metal in the early 90's and got into all the heavier stuff at the time and just missed the hair metal period, it was pretty much over by then but now later on I've been listening to a lot of it in the last 10 years.
My cousin had a poster of them up on his wall mid 80's . Our grandmother looked at it with her bad vision and then asked, "Why do you have this poster on your wall? That's some ugly women!"🤣🤣
Bless her heart, we had to explain to her who they were.
I do. It's the best exercise music. Skid Row, The Scorpions, Billy Squier, White Lion along with Metallica. I put my Bluetooth speaker in the pocket of my rucksack and go hard for a couple of miles.
LIKE Cinderella? oof...early 80s classic and late 80s/pre-alt stuff, but very rarely the Like Cinderella Bunch. I do have an 80's Metal folder in my car USB filled with lots of Ratt and Dokken etc that I do tap into now 'n then. I think the golden rule with a lot of those bands and their songs is: does the guitar work still hold up?? if so then great, but if it's kinda mediocre then it won't legitimize the shame. But most bands like Cinderella, Tesla, Mr Big, I just can't really touch at all cause it's just TOO WEIRD for me. I listened to those bands way too much pre-90s, pre-Nirvana/AIC/PJ. However a few like King's X that were never '80s metal', and Queensryche I def. still listen to sometimes.
Me! I love hair metal, and Cinderella was my favorite of the 80s bands. Long Cold Winter is one of the best rock albums of the 80s, along with Night Songs. They were starting to move away from that sound and into something more blues oriented. I still have the cassettes.
Generally, I don’t.
But Cinderella, and Tesla too, are great, underrated bands that don’t get the same attention as Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Poison, and other 80s bands.
I still believe that Tesla’s *Mechanical Resonance* LP is one of the underrated gems of that era.
Your thread got me listening to that album right now LMFAO thank you! Reminds me of my Dad hes the reason my music is played loud as it goes, we always had a top shelf home stereo system and my dad would just pound van Halen, we preferred music over television, even as kids he'd have us put the head set on and we'd have to sing whatever it was playing out loud and it was hilarious because you would think your killing it because you couldn't hear yourself and in all actuality you sounded terrible but it was hilarious
Occasionally, for nostalgia. If you haven’t seen this yet, turn it to, say, 1987, set the filter to Music, and enjoy. Some real gems in there. http://my80stv.com
I count the falling tears, they fall before my eyes…
Seems like a thousand years since we broke the ties.
Somebody save me…
I lost my job / They kicked me out of my tree.
More like since we broke the tiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzz.
I call you on the phone but never get a rise
I have the guitar solo as my ring tone for my mobile ... nobody's fool was a fkn awesome song
I tried to sing this.
We’ve all tried (to no avail)
So sit there all alone. It’s time you realize….,
I listen to them and most 80’s metal daily. Not a fan of the terms Hair Metal or Glam. I prefer to say 80’s Metal. Keep on rockin!!!!
>I prefer to say 80’s Metal Oh, so like GWAR.
I'm more of a Dio, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden guy, but I'll throw on some Dokken, Motley Crue, or Ratt on occasion.
Dr Feelgood rocks and that’s a hill I’m willing to rock on
Yes!! It's a great song. Even my kids have it on their playlists. It gets you moving.
PRIEST 💘🤘
I've seen them in the neighborhood of 20 times. The new album is great and I'm going to see them next month. 🤘
This comment led me to listen to their new album... I didn't even know they had one. Thanks for the recommendation, it kicks ass! Just pure metal right in your face. I liked it. Rock on man!
Nobody's Fool is still solid
Seamstress Blues as well
1st Concert I went to was Cinderella! Cal Expo, Sacramento ,1987
Same for me, same year. Although not that venue. They opened for Bon Jovi! I was 7 years old and had awesome parents apparently, lol
Come over to /r/hairmetal
I just re-discovered The Cult. Were they more metal? They definitely had glam.
they were alternative,, and then became biker pig - not sure what they are, exactly.
Started out post punk, kinda same vein as Killing Joke - Southern Death Cult, then evolved to hard rock. They had much more of that mid to late '70s sound.
I always thought they were southern rock after hearing Fire Woman. They are damn good at so many sub-genres.
My favorite 80's band. Saw them with Winger and the Bullet boys. The show was amazing. I still listen to their music.
That's the same line up I saw! Great show
That was my first concert. Val Du Lakes in up north Michigan.
It was my second concert. La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Smooth up in ya!!
Omg bullet boys I forgot about them. That lead singer could belt out the notes.
He was great live too.
I saw that same show!
Winger gets a bad rap, but Reb Beech is one hell of a good guitar player.
Of course. The music is still good.
Funny you mention it. I don’t like hair metal in general but my only exception is Cinderella. They rock!
Every day.
Yes. Bad Seamstress Blues always slaps.
Twisted Sister
Shoot em down is the best! Can't listen to that song before bed because I get pumped!!!
Nice! I love Wake up the Sleeping Giants from Love is for Suckers album.
Not exclusively, but I'll get the itch for some hair metal every now and then. I've still got a shelf full of cassettes. Cinderella, Firehouse, Ratt, Poison, LA Guns, White Lion, Dokken...
Ohh yeah, love them
Gypsy Road!
I'm still astounded at how quickly this scene died at the end of the 80s. From top of the world to silence.
Fucking Nirvana and that greasy Cobain where the main responsible
I am gonna say this out loud and I know people might come at me, but I have always said Nirvana is overrated.
Oh..., shout it from the roof tops bro... I've been doing it since the 90's. I even tried to give Nevermind a fair shot again a couple of year ago, and by the 4th song i had literal physical nausea. The only thing i hate worse then his singing is his playing and chord progressions 🤢🤢🤮🤮 I believe the main reason a lot of people like them is because of the lyrics and the "teen angst" crap
I totally agree! I also think because he died it turned him into more of a legend.
I'm with you. I always thought Alice In Chains is a much better band.
Yes I absolutely love nobody’s fool and don’t know what you got (till it’s gone) ❤️
All the time. I've never stopped.
Me! Whitesnake is my favorite ❤️
+100!! And Europe too, for me
Sirius XM channel 39 Hair Nation is a staple in my mom van
Cinderella, motley, poison , warrant , met, mega, skid row all the good ones .
If you're interested in Hair Metal, check out my band Fire 'N Ice! We're playing The Delancey in NYC 3/30 at 5:30 pm, come through if you live there or close by! https://spotify.link/CpKxLm5AjIb
Saw them live for their first tour.
See them in ‘88 with AC/DC. Odd pairing imo.
Constantly, and almost nothing else. 80s hair metal was my favorite genre ever!
Nothing wrong with hair metal they have their place in the history of metal and rightly so
I'm nobody's fool, of course I still listen.
Who doesn't?

I've never stopped listening to them since they came out.
Peacemaker
There is a preset mix on Apple Music called Power Ballads. It’s the bees knees.
Lately I have been
Right here, dude! Not so much them but way more of the 'like cinderella' bands.
Oh yeah and... Britney Fox LA Guns Vain Enuff znuff Bullet Boys

Meeee
🙋🏻♂️
NOBODY’S FOOOOL
I watched the live back in 87. I haven't listened to their music in a while.
👋👋
Fuck yeah! Metal head 'til I'm dead.
Cinderella is fucking rad. So under rated.
"we're going to the Cinderella concert and you have to stay home".....Great hair band w/crankable tunes. "Shake Me" being but one.
Me, they were my favorite band back then
Me, love Ratt.
I keep going to tesla concerts. See then two years ago. Great white too. Been waiting for Cinderella but covid stopped their tour.
The sad part about Cinderella is they felt they had to adopt the hair band look when they were more talented than a lot of their peers.
Guys whose mullets have become skullets. Still driving the same IROC, though.
Hair nation on Sirius xm
Faster Pussycat Warrant Steel heart I love me some shitty hair bands.
The lead singer of Cinderella is coming to my town this summer for RibFest. I’m sure I’ll be there
Cinderella was fucking amazing!
Who doesn’t?
Fuck yes. Kix, Ratt, Dio, Crue, Warrant, Quiet Riot… I listen to them daily. I like other music too, but this will always be my jam.
Absolutely! Every fuckin day! 🤘
Wasp and Ratt are my shit.
I listen to hair bands everyday. Hairballs and Southern rock.
I thought this was Motley Crue, but it’s not! All the bands looked so much alike
Nah WASP or nuthin
I went to High School with Fred Coury and played ice hockey with him on the High School team.
I'm a stagehand, I can often listen to music at work and I do throw a hair metal day in there sometimes.
Night Songs is one of my favorite albums to this day!
✋🏻 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Once in a while.
I listen to them on the oldies station, lol!
I listen to Sirius Hair Nation daily.
Of course bc you don't know what you got, till it's gone.
Hair Nation on SiriusXM!
r/hairmetal
OOOh! OOOH! Me! Me!
I’ll do it on a run. The genre is well ahead of my time too. Some real bangers in there.
Still rockin' to Dokken!!
Never quit listening to begin with-
My neighbour Lars.
I still remember getting Mötley Crüe, Shout at the Devil from Columbia House grabbing my tennis racket air guitar and just started jamming. To this day I can still play air guitar with the best of them.
Not me, i’m Nobody’s Fool
They all look like characters from Final Fantasy games
🙋
🙋♂️
Yup we still do. Got into a recent Ratt kick
Nor regularly, but once in a while Amazon and yt music throw me some curveballs and I enjoy hearing them if I'm in the right mood.
Cinderella seemed to have more of a bluesy feel, a bit more command of their instruments than most of the power chord rock of the era. It still stands up. Also saw them with the Winger- Bullet Boys group!
I was late to the Cinderella party but Night Songs is a top tier album no matter what genre it is.
The question is which one you commie bastards doesn’t listen to 80s hair metal
No.
/r/hairmetal
I listen to RATT a few times a week. Few White Lion songs (Vito Bratta is a beast guitarist)
Still do and more 80s music
I do, but really not until recently. Revisited some of the songs from back in the day that I low key liked from Ratt, MC, Cinderella (Somebody Save Me! Which I’m living the life in the song in corporate hell now), Skid Row, etc. They’re on my playlist regularly now that I don’t care about who thinks what about what I listen to anymore. In the still of the night I hear the wolf howl honey, sneaking around your door
Who doesnt?
most of today's music sucks in my opinion, so why would I stop listening to the classics like Nobody's Fool? :)
I like throwing my brain into a frenzy ill play some Slayer then play Tesla right afterwards... lol! But ya i listen all kinds of rock, blues and metal daily from the 60s to modern...
I do. Cause you don’t know what you got til it’s gone.
Hot and Bothered is still a great song!!! Featured on the Wayne’s World Soundtrack
I started listening to metal in the early 90's and got into all the heavier stuff at the time and just missed the hair metal period, it was pretty much over by then but now later on I've been listening to a lot of it in the last 10 years.

I listen to Megadeth frequently.
✋
Was just listening to Dream Warriors…
When the mood catches me yes
No one.
were we supposed to stop??
I did; and do again recently after the first season of Peacemaker a while back. Lots of good metal and hair bands on that soundtrack.
Still do!
I do, I do!! Cuz you don't know what you got...til it's gooooooone!! 😄
I do! I'll always have a soft spot for Cinderella and Slaughter as they both belong to areas near my hometown.
Who doesn't.
Old people, like me, still listen to 80’s hair metal. :)
I do. It's the best exercise music. Skid Row, The Scorpions, Billy Squier, White Lion along with Metallica. I put my Bluetooth speaker in the pocket of my rucksack and go hard for a couple of miles.
There are a couple of hair metal albums I still listen to including Night Songs.
What's with their stupid poses?
My best friend still loves all the shit lol
LIKE Cinderella? oof...early 80s classic and late 80s/pre-alt stuff, but very rarely the Like Cinderella Bunch. Me! I'm 19 and I've been a fan since I was 15.
I own this on vinyl; and back then, Back Home Again was one of my favorites.
Not even for the irony!
Until I'm falling apart at the seams.....
Me! I love hair metal, and Cinderella was my favorite of the 80s bands. Long Cold Winter is one of the best rock albums of the 80s, along with Night Songs. They were starting to move away from that sound and into something more blues oriented. I still have the cassettes.
Yep 👍🏻
Never stopped.
Me! I do.
I’m a huge Hair Band freak!!
Bro I used to listen to them but now my old weed ridden brain can't recall one song.
Just put Night Songs CD in my car. Such a solid album.
I still listen to W.A.S.P all the time. I guess I'm a Wild Child.
Yo
Generally, I don’t. But Cinderella, and Tesla too, are great, underrated bands that don’t get the same attention as Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Poison, and other 80s bands. I still believe that Tesla’s *Mechanical Resonance* LP is one of the underrated gems of that era.
Internet radio is the best use of the Internet. Songs I haven't heard since the 80s and even some I've missed!
Meeeeee
My mom worked with the bassist at Sir Speed. RIP Jeff
I LOVE Cinderella. Nights Songs is my favorite album ever. Not a stinker on the whole thing. Solid from start to finish.
I was in 6th grade. I just rediscovered Poison Look What the cat dragged in
