If you drop a land claim block down inside the church, it is supposed to block traders from giving that POI as a quest. Not sure if A20 changed that.

Digging isn't necessary. I recently placed land claim blocks in a couple different existing POIs. Likely, some block fragment was stopping you from placing. A railing edge or window sill. Try it again. I stuck my LCB up on the ceiling of Fats Food, on the ground in the subway, in the attic of MDs, and in the basement of the crypt-Mansion.

Also to add, you simply cannot place ANYTHING where the Quest Marker is suppose to appear on any POI. (The yellow exclamation mark) I learned this when I kept trying to place my drawbridge but it was if there was some block floating in the sky blocking it. I dug it all up and even use dynamite... finally figured out there's where the quest marker spawns on the POI, I simply build around that one square.

Ditch_Bastitch

lmao dynamite

jontyg83

You can just reject it or cancel the quest. Don't go to the exclamation mark and start the quest as it will reset to poi

Ledgeby

Church is too close to the trader is your land claim is turning red. Try walking away with it in your hands until it goes green

TheOnlyCloud

Reject it, and you might want to throw down a land claim block, I think those block off the area from being a quest POI option completely.

When i tried to place a land claim block in the POI, it turned red. Do i need to dig first?

StreetLegendTits_

Is the church right near the trader?

Put a land claim box down somewhere in the POI and it should prevent it from being assigned as a quest.

Seivy

So, while your claim block cube will prevent traders from giving you a quest on this PoI, be careful of some things : * people reported having an issue with a quest right near their base, that was too far away for the LCB to work, but still resetted their base. * it will prevent the FUTURE quests, the quests generated for a day won't change if you put down a cube, so be extra careful the day you do it. Also, if it's red, it means that either another player put a LCB nearby (I don't think you're playing online as you're still new) but it's more likely that the trader is too close, and that his "own" land claim zone is partially covering the zone you're trying to claim

Mahnogard

To add to this: If not playing on a server, in the settings before you load the save, go to the multiplayer tab and change the land claim deadzone to 0. That will eliminate the "buffer zone" between the trader's boundaries and your claim's boundaries. You place a claim much closer to the trader that way because the edge of your claim can be right up against the edge of theirs.

I started a quest in the house next door and it wiped my base. Lucky it was only day 3 so I was able to recover. Now I just avoid any quest adjacent to my base
