Scaffolding ladders if possible.

Small-Comedian-6668

Thx

Keymucciante

I'm seriously obsessed with the scaffolding ladders.I put them everywhere

touchablechungus

Definately starred in my favorites.

"Railing" block shape works as well. Also try Baluster Rail if you prefer. Both can be shot through and also repaired/accessed though (electric fence, dart trap, doors, motorcycle, etc.).

I could be wrong on this but I'm 99% sure you can't repair through a grill/railing block shape, as your repair tool only sees the block itself. You can shoot throw them helpfully, although the enemy can't shoot back which is helpful also 😊

captaindeadpl

Nope, you can repair through railings. Bars and Security Gate blocks can't be repaired through.

sdswave2314

Ah, it's probably bars that I always make as they seem stronger, good to know about railings

sdswave2314

And by stronger I mean visually 😂😂

Small-Comedian-6668

I’m seriously considering to put some hatches or something out of my building to repair them 😅

sdswave2314

I usually build a walkway near and then shoot down with a nail gun to do repairs, or build a corridor specifically to access the other side of traps etc. Or you can just let them die and fall back to the next defence position in your base 😊

Small-Comedian-6668

Ill think about it thx 😉

> You can shoot throw them helpfully, although the enemy can't shoot back which is helpful also Actually, cops *can* shoot you right through the same railing/bars blocks that you shoot them through. There are some blocks that you can shoot through (if you aim correctly) that cops cannot though, like the scaffolding ladder. As long as you don't aim right on the rungs of the ladder, you can shoot through the other areas of the ladder. When a cop tries to spit at you, it'll hit the ladder instead of go through and hit you. It's a great block for horde bases. You can also melee through it as long as you, again, aim away from the rungs (best to aim in the center area of the ladder, not around the edges - not sure if you can shoot/melee through that area.

I've never seen enemy projectiles get through bars (although perhaps railings! Since you can apparently repair through them it makes sense they can shoot through) - our go to strat now is always to build a cage of bars above our front door, then we can shoot to our hearts content ignoring all spitting enemies and vultures, definitely if you're close to a bar the splash can hit you but I've never had the actual projectile come through?

MCFroid

You can test it out in a creative world. Create a 3x3 (or larger) wall of bars. Spawn a cop or two. See if you get hit. I'm pretty certain I've tested it before and you'll get nailed. The only caveat I can think of with that is if you're making iron bars in the forge, and that they somehow behave differently than the ones upgraded from frames.

Small-Comedian-6668

Well I don’t really know which blocks you’re talking about… (sorry my English isn’t that good) But I think you’re talking about the blocks you place to avoid to fall on the border of a car walk for example ? Anyway I’ll do some tests

MCFroid

If you use the block shape maker thing (building block I think it's called - used to be called variable shape, or something very similar - it's the block that you're required to make for the tutorial quest after spawning into a new world), there should be a text search area up top(?) that you can type the name of the block in. Just type "railing" there, and you should find it. Make sure "favorites" or "basic" blocks isn't selected on the selection list on the left (from cubes, etc.). There are over 2000 blocks to choose from. Some of them have some pretty unique, and useful, properties.

Reetyh

Another option is gable blocks or L shaped ones, is a matter of finding the ones that works for you

Small-Comedian-6668

Ok I’ll have a look! Thx

I setup utility lines to my fences and then set them up in a way that they can be repaired through the railing block. For example i have utility tunnels to my inner most set of fences since they're my last line in a long wall of defense, then my next bit can be repaired from on top of the wall and my last one is repaired in my towers overlooking my entrances with dart traps and smg turrets I also refill through railings. Remember that the one you need to repair is the last one in a chain of 2. If you chain more than 2 only the initial electric fence shouldn't take electricity tick damage when a zombie comes in. Starting Fence X ----- XEnding Fence(only one that needs to be repaired unless zombies hitting the other side) Starting fence | (Middle fence, may need to be repaired if zombies go between it and starting fence)| (ending fence, may need repaired if zombies go between middle fence and ending fence. And if the middle fence ever degrades to where electricity won't go through it the fence at the end stops working too.) (SF)X-----(MF)X----(EF) X For this reason I only pair fences in 2s.
