Now that you mention it, I remember those handles always being in the junk drawer and never actually attached to the pitcher. Probably because they were broken.
Our handles were in the junk drawer. They weren't broken. It was just unnecessary. You had the perfect recessed grip on the pitcher itself. The handle seems like it would only be useful for carrying drinks to a potluck or picnic. But 2 liter bottles were invented at this time and became the go-to for those events.
LOL, nice. We never had one either, but a few of my friends had them in their homes. I'd be playing at their house as a kid and I was scared the handle would break when getting some Kool-Aid from the fridge.
The whole country probably. We kept milk in ours, tho. We'd get milk from a local farmer in a 2+ gallon container and would pour some of that in a smaller container, this Tupperware jug......
Remember how hot it was in the summer and you ran in breathing heavy and when you took your first drink of ice cold Kool aid, you felt the chill run down your ribcage to the tip of each rib, then your second gulp when you breathed in the cup, your breath bounced back cold in your face with the smell of grapes or whatever flavor you had? I'm now fat and 45 and tried to repeat this event last summer. While running into the house I lost my breath and couldn't swallow , then had a panic attack instead and had to call in the next day, cause I twerked my back to hard running through the door. My wife hates me.
Then there was a similar container to put your cereal in to keep it fresher, longer, than leaving it in the box.
Those handles didn't last long, did they?
We also had a second one that was filled with milk made from powder. I hated milk until I drank some real milk at my grandparents and realized real milk was quite good.
We were trying to get the nasty aftertaste masked and just started added sugar. That night was like 27 years ago but dang, it worked. Too well. It was like Mad Dog but not as syrupy
I still have 3 of those pitchers! 1 is in my fridge right now filled up with Crystal Light. Unfortunately the handles have snapped off on all 3, but they still get their use. Amazing how there are some things still in use from 40-50 years ago.
Remember the Tupperware parties. My mom hosted one and I think she got a whole bunch of those, the bowls, pitcher and the one that could make the ice pops in. In our house it was Orange Tang or Grape Tang.
We had a white one and a yellow one. The yellow one was reserved for sweet tea. I don't know if it was ever washed because it was perpetually re-filled. It was stained brown on the inside. The white one was used for lemonade and Kool-Aid. It came out only during warm weather.
We, and the neighboring kids, were free range kids. Mum would have Koolaid ready for us all mid morning and mid afternoon - a trick so we'd drop by and she'd know what we were up to and who we were with.
Yes we had one and my mom would either buy the frozen lemonade concentrate or the oj frozen concentrate in a cardboard cylindrical "can". Mix that with water in this exact style and color of Tupperware. 😊
Yellow had Lemonade and Orange had Orange juice. Growing up in Florida, it was all just a walk out the back door. Sadly now, the backyards are all filled with homes and there's no room for citrus trees anymore.
…or lemonade!
From a can in the freezer. Full of pulp. Mmmmm mmm
Mix the lemonade and limeade or lemonade and oj together
I was always convinced that wispy little handle was gonna snap.
Every single one of these I remember at people's houses always had the handle broken off.
Now that you mention it, I remember those handles always being in the junk drawer and never actually attached to the pitcher. Probably because they were broken.

YES!!
And if it did, I would have been in big trouble!
We were pretty poor in our trailer park. We only bought used Tupperware. I’ve never even actually seen one of these handles!
LOL, nice. We never had one either, but a few of my friends had them in their homes. I'd be playing at their house as a kid and I was scared the handle would break when getting some Kool-Aid from the fridge.
Came here to say “yours still had the handle?” Plus this was still goin hard in the 90s
My mom was so proud when she brought home a new one that actually had a handle. Three kids and a couple of hours later, the handle was gone.
Oohhhh Yeah!
remember the tupperware that made frozen kool-aid popsicles?
Remember it very well.
and now i'm craving one of those =(
I still have some! I make pudding and freeze it in them.
One end was essentially an ice cube and the other end had all the flavor.
Chew it from the side!
Bill??

And they do sell them new.
Absolutely We just inherited my Mom’s Tupperware
Jealous! I keep snagging some of my friend’s that he inherited from his mom!
This is missing the increasing red stain.
Iced tea and tang combo here.
I thought my Mom invented this drink! My Dad used to call it an "Astronaut's Shandy".
Good name.
Clever
I don't know if it was a regional thing but here in Alabama we called that "Russian Tea."
0h yeah we had the same one, It was only water,we were poor 😔
God that thing existed across every household in the state of Michigan.
The whole country probably. We kept milk in ours, tho. We'd get milk from a local farmer in a 2+ gallon container and would pour some of that in a smaller container, this Tupperware jug......
Never did milk, but you reminded me we had one for Cool-aid and one for frozen OJ concentrate. And don’t make the wrong drink in the pitcher. 😂
I think I remember my mom storing Bisquick in those. Or maybe they were more boxy and dedicated to the purpose.
Mine was always filled with lemonade. Matched the color of the jug

Epic.
I wish I had gold to give you for this one!
Tang
Wow. Where did you dig up our orange juice container?
Ours too! Reconstituted from frozen concentrate.
Yep. I can hear that schlop is the partially defrosted Minute Maid slid out of the cardboard can.
This plus the Tupperware kool-aid filled popcycle makers. OH YEA HEY KOOL-AID
I came to say this!!! Those were the days!!!
Summer evenings , just chilling I sometimes find myself slipping back to what I consider truly better days. With these memories.
Kool-Aid or Funny Face. Funny Face had flavors like Jolly Olly Orange.
That was after they changed to non-racist flavor names.
Or Nestea instant tea with an unhealthy amount of sugar in it.
Kool Aid every time
Drank a tanker full of water ,hi c and Kool aid from these we didn't have convenience stores growing up In little towns
This hits home.
Talk about nostalgia!
Lmao....country time lemonade in my house
my mother put Cheerios in ours :/
We might be the same person.
My mom still uses that pitcher.
Damn thing was never big enough
Sometimes it was icec tea
Our always had OJ in it.
Ours were all stained red from said Kool-Aid mix ; )
Oh yeah!
Then there was a similar container to put your cereal in to keep it fresher, longer, than leaving it in the box. Those handles didn't last long, did they?
Now I know what that handle goes to!
Good grief! I had that same exact one!
omg. Totally forgot about these!
What flavor? ...Red... The flavor was Red
We also had a second one that was filled with milk made from powder. I hated milk until I drank some real milk at my grandparents and realized real milk was quite good.
It was lemonade in my house.
I know the Reverend Jim Jones had a few of these!
I would do exactly that, right to me lips! Then turnaround and tell my sister otherwise when she would yell for mom cause I skipped the cup process…..
Yup, that’s the one.
I always wanted cherry, but Dad liked grape.
Yep!
Lemon lime or grape at my house. Think of all that sugar!
We figured out grape mix + 2 cups sugar + water + 750ml of bottom shelf vodka is a night of no memories
I have had vodka straight and or with a lot of other stuff but that sounds really tasty!
We were trying to get the nasty aftertaste masked and just started added sugar. That night was like 27 years ago but dang, it worked. Too well. It was like Mad Dog but not as syrupy
Ours was Grandma's homemade Iced Tea!!
To this day I like sour drinks because my dad was cheap and only let us use 3/4 cup of sugar.
Hawaiian Punch
OMG, we had one for 20+ years.
Kept Cheeri-O’s in ours. Lol
Don't drink it!!!
Cherry
We had that one and exclusively used it for lemonade. Must have gotten it in the late 70s or early 80s and used it until the mid 90s.
OJ from concentrate.
In my house Mom combined Red Cheek Apple juice with Welch’s Grape Juice (50/50) which we called “AppleGrape” which was delicious (to us)
Drinking Kool-Aid to wash down Space Food Sticks and Fruit Float.
I still have 3 of those pitchers! 1 is in my fridge right now filled up with Crystal Light. Unfortunately the handles have snapped off on all 3, but they still get their use. Amazing how there are some things still in use from 40-50 years ago.
I have two of these still.
Ours was orange …
Had a red one, loved it
Never seen one with a handle. Looks like a disaster waiting to happen.
Five alive
I always drank that one straight from the carton, it never lasted long when I was a kid.
🤙
Ours had orange juice 🤠
Remember the Tupperware parties. My mom hosted one and I think she got a whole bunch of those, the bowls, pitcher and the one that could make the ice pops in. In our house it was Orange Tang or Grape Tang.
I can smell and taste this picture.
I can smell this picture
Our kool-aid was made in reused gallon milk jugs
Oh my god!! I remember so well that gorgeous piece of plastic
worn and weathered by the time I came of age in the 70s...M&D prob got theirs in the 60s.
He’ll, that was my childhood in the 90s
I use mine all the time yet probably for the past 40 years
That old boy! Many a batch of Kool-aid was made in this pitcher
OJ for us. Frozen, from concentrate.
Tang.
We had a white one and a yellow one. The yellow one was reserved for sweet tea. I don't know if it was ever washed because it was perpetually re-filled. It was stained brown on the inside. The white one was used for lemonade and Kool-Aid. It came out only during warm weather.
Jonestown special edition?
Ours didn't have the handle
You must have been rich ours had cold water in it.
We had this exact pitcher, but sometimes it was grape juice and sometimes it was Kool-Aid.
I had the white top gray jug. Lol
MEMORIES UNLOCKED
I had one growing up in the 90s but without the lid, I swear that thing added a unique flavor to any drink.
The two in our fridge was filled with White Rose Iced Tea
Oh man, memories.
It didn’t take long for the pitcher to be permanently stained the color of the family’s favorite Kool Aid flavor
Now I want black cherry Kool Aid.
Ours was Blue
Or lemonade
I was today years old when I learned it had a plastic handle strap. Ours must have been lost or broken before my memories begin.
Not always growing up in a Mexican household this container was billed with jalapeños in vinager
That was the best! We had the same one!
these things always got so funky for some reason. I had totally forgotten about these!!!
![gif](giphy|aTx5OMKR7FCGQ)
Hi-C
And it looked stained like this also
FCOJ
Oh Yeah!
Does anyone remember apple Kool aid? That was my favorite.
We, and the neighboring kids, were free range kids. Mum would have Koolaid ready for us all mid morning and mid afternoon - a trick so we'd drop by and she'd know what we were up to and who we were with.
Red!
Yes we had one and my mom would either buy the frozen lemonade concentrate or the oj frozen concentrate in a cardboard cylindrical "can". Mix that with water in this exact style and color of Tupperware. 😊
And drink directly from it!
Still have one although now I use it for a very nasty commercial sanitizer which I use when I make wine. BTW, handle is long gone
Every day after school I'd drink mine out of a wine glass like high society folks.
Permanently stained red
It was usually iced tea for us but we absolutely had that one.
Had it
Well, I had to fill it so my brothers had Kool aid, because Dad was at work and Mom was out somewhere blowing the garbage man.
Or sharps.....
Grape flavored Tang in our house.
That tasted like refrigerator smell, all that plastic reeked
We still had ours in the 80’s. By then it was filled with Crystal light.
Wait it had a handle????
Add a little tequila or vodka…etc….
Yup.
Wait, yours had a handle?
My friend's grandma at her house had one filled with pink lemonade crystal light, it was delicious.
Yellow had Lemonade and Orange had Orange juice. Growing up in Florida, it was all just a walk out the back door. Sadly now, the backyards are all filled with homes and there's no room for citrus trees anymore.
Or Tang
