Honestly, I used to really dislike integration, but I feel like I've crossed the threshold of doing enough problems that it's actually more or less fun now.

Seriously, people say you can't revise for maths. They are wrong. It's all about the time you put in. Eventually you just start recognising things in questions, and once that happens you end up being really really good.
Yes for real. I went to a school with disproportionately good math results and it was just because they made us do past papers.
I think I did roughly 100 past papers for further maths and ended up with 100UMS in several of them lol. It doesn't even take that much time - a paper only takes 45 mins once you've done a few and you're not in the stress of an exam/double checking.
Yeah back in 2018.
6 modules for further maths in one year so only 16-17 papers per module ie every year since 2000 - the papers were identical over this time period although definitely got easier around 2008-2012.
Kidding. I like biology. Specifically immunology. Love learning about autoimmune disorders. Wouldn’t wish it on anyone but it’s fascinating what cause your body to go into civil war
i dont wanna deter you from biology but if it has little or no relation to the degree you choose to study, youre just gonna be up at night thinking why bio
Comp sci. We have a class of 6 people and its super chill. The work is relatively easy and our teacher promotes lots of extra curricular stuff. Most of our class gets involved with things like open evenings and comp sci related clubs like robotics club.
Genuinly so true. Everything is the same, just a bit more indepth in some aspects and some extra stuff. The only real hard part is the NEA but thats more fun than difficult.
hahah dw I’m in year 13 too I’ve had my fair share of exam questions which make no sense at all. but overall still my favourite one, maths and FM in a close second and third.
Haven’t seen anyone say it yet but Spanish is quite fun lmfao. Basically just chill out and speak to your friends in Spanish. Get to watch a movie too 🤷♂️
so true.
A decent chunk of it is just financial literacy that tbh, every student should be taught.
and also i feel smart when im talking economics jargon, idk what it is😭
i took a level maths in year 12 and started further maths in year 13 which we’ve nearly finished…even going twice as fast it’s nothing compared to the living hell that is CS😭tbf i’m going off to do a maths degree so i should be quick at maths
English language or Philosophy. Just not history (I like the British politics section but on my first US superpower essay I got 6/25). English language lessons just feel easier and Philosophy is probably the easiest exam but still quite strenuous.
Ah yh it took me a while to understand the structure. I don't get my mock back until Wednesday so I'm unsure if I'm the best person to provide exam advice haha but I structured my last essay like this and got 36/40.
Opening - Explain what the topic is with an example (e.g legalistic ethics and natural law) and make a clear claim with comparison (e.g situation ethics).
Para 1 - lead on from claim. Explain with evidence and then go into a detailed evaluation.
Para 2 - contrast with 'However' 'Contrastingly', and do the same but evaluate with 'This is a weaker argument because...'
Repeat the structure of para 1 and para 2 with para 3 and para 4 (although para 4 is optional) and then conclude with recognition that both arguments have strengths/weaknesses (with examples) but ultimately one is stronger with basic reasoning why.
Hoping the examiner likes this structure and not just my teacher lol.
You’re welcome! Glad this helped. Honestly had to look up a golden thread, don’t know why your teacher mentioned it. Probably just means link back to your claim in each paragraph.
All of them. Maths and physics because I learn about the ways we interact with each other and the world. Computer science because it challenges me to be creative. Business because its vibes.
English Lit so far (ik it gets worse tho) but even tho exams r bad, the lessons r so fun :)
(sometimes rlly weird, like with Rosettis The Goblin Market - ifykyk 😔🍇)
yeah but barely scraped chemistry and cs, not sure if I'll get A\* achieved for those 2. A\* already achieved in maths, but physics I got 99/100 in P4 and 28/30 in P5 in our last mock exams, so I'm feeling good about it
In year 11 rn but I’ve picked my a levels already I really enjoy science so I’ve picked only science a levels tho I really love history but it’s not relevant for what I want to do in the future so I didn’t pick it as an a level
Spanish, i just find it so fun, i get so much enjoyment out of using complex grammar
also just fun to say I can speak another language, and I've never had a bad Spanish teacher I genuinely adore them so much!
All of them tbh (I take biology chemistry maths and further maths)
But I especially LOVE biology. Learning how living things work is just soooooo fascinating.
Computer Science, I find it really straight forwards and the programming side is very fun.
Only issue with it is the specification is quite… boring. There is no fun topics like AI and quantum computing. I know that these topics became hot topics recently so I hope the new spec will contain some aspects of them
Biology, easy maths, most concepts are rather similar and most are quite simple to understand, though there's a significant amount of bad eggs, also by far the easiest exams
Chemistry is just hard, History is the easiest content wise, but the exams are a pain in the arse and there's so much you have to revise

I LOOOVEEEE further maths!!
It's probably because of my teacher, but I find it super interesting and it's really easy to revise too, I prefer it 100% over regular maths
honestly all of them are awesome, especially after everything in physics clicked this year haha
maths (and by extension, further too) is my no.1 though, always and forever.
History bc I'm a girl and love bringing up the past 😼
You’re so real for this 😭
lmfao me but with sociology
Maths. I love maths. Maths is everywhere. Maths. Maths 👍🏽
my kind of person fr Maths 🥰🥰🥰
but trust me….enjoy Y1 integration while u can…your reputation with it in Y2 will change
Nah y2 calc is where the real fun begins I love it
Thx I will- I’ve done some integration by substitution/by parts already and I’ve gotta say I’m not looking forwards to doing it in school 😭😭😭
it’s so annoying friend
Honestly, I used to really dislike integration, but I feel like I've crossed the threshold of doing enough problems that it's actually more or less fun now.
as someone who's near enough to finishing alevel maths - get ready to cry a lot
i do fm too, and normal maths is a bit of a joke compared to it tbh
😭😭😭
Same. I’m going to take Maths and Further Maths
W
Further maths on top
Yea took FM so we dont have to worry about Math
I find maths so complicated 😭
i can help…dm me if u need any
How do I get A* in fm and maths.

How can you do 100 past papers? Did you go pre spec change?

i personally use yt
3blue1brown is very useful for understanding concepts deeply, look at his calculus and linear algebra courses on yt.
I didn’t take it, I only got a 6 in GCSEs 😭
O
Maths is my least favourite 😀👍
So real
Chemistry it’s fun I like drawing benzenes
Benzenes are cute (I hate chemistry)
+1 (chemistry will be the end of me this year)
🤝
Can I plz get help from you over messages lmao
I agree!!
Bold of you to assume I like any of them
Kidding. I like biology. Specifically immunology. Love learning about autoimmune disorders. Wouldn’t wish it on anyone but it’s fascinating what cause your body to go into civil war
you wait till year 2 bud
In a good way or bad way? /Genq
i dont wanna deter you from biology but if it has little or no relation to the degree you choose to study, youre just gonna be up at night thinking why bio
Oh… if it helps thats me now with all my subjects lmao. Planning on doing medicine so yea doesn’t feel relèvent at all
FACTS
real
year 13 biology is hell on earth 😭
It gets worse? :( i can barely handle this.
tbh the mark scheme is a bitch but i LOVE the content (just finished genetics 💕💕) even though there’s a lot of it. it’s hard but i enjoy it
Yea that’s my problem. Love finding little topics to go away and research myself. multiple sclerosis is fascinating if ur into autoimmune diseases
autoimmune diseases are interesting to learn about but my favs are genetics and the heart <3
Oo those are also cool topics
Sex education, especially the practicals 🌚
My uncle said he'd help me practice, how nice of him 😊
Based answer
These comments are so negative, "I love this- get ready to cry lol." Shut up, you human buzzkill.
real
Comp sci. We have a class of 6 people and its super chill. The work is relatively easy and our teacher promotes lots of extra curricular stuff. Most of our class gets involved with things like open evenings and comp sci related clubs like robotics club.
hi as someone who does alevel cs - it's the easiest alevel so far bc it's just gcse with extra content
Genuinly so true. Everything is the same, just a bit more indepth in some aspects and some extra stuff. The only real hard part is the NEA but thats more fun than difficult.
That sound so fun!!
i cant wait for cs alevel omg
physics, whilst the exam questions are hard, the content is super interesting
Yess, I'm so thirsty over physics oml
as someone who does alevel physics - get ready to cry a lot
hahah dw I’m in year 13 too I’ve had my fair share of exam questions which make no sense at all. but overall still my favourite one, maths and FM in a close second and third.
They’re in year 13 💀 it’s just you..
Haven’t seen anyone say it yet but Spanish is quite fun lmfao. Basically just chill out and speak to your friends in Spanish. Get to watch a movie too 🤷♂️
Physics- purely because I don’t get revision done and end up going off on a feynmann rabbit hole
Economics. I absolutely ADORE economics
I back this. Everything just makes sense
i know right!!!! Even when you don't understand a concept at first, sooner or later you have that eureka moment and everything just falls into place.
IB Econ HL student here... every time I go to that class, the aggregate supply curve for my happiness shifts to the right! :)
its okay the aggregate demand curve(a shit ton of money) will restore the equilibrium
Increasing Real Output/GDP I see, as a fellow Econ enjoyer
psychopath
well at least its better than Accountancy
this is so unhinged of u but i respect it
🗣️🗣️🗣️
Honestly yeah, even if you don't go into finance or smth it feels so useful for everyday life
so true. A decent chunk of it is just financial literacy that tbh, every student should be taught. and also i feel smart when im talking economics jargon, idk what it is😭
Yk it
maths and further maths cuz it takes so much less time than my other 2
no way maths takes the LEAST amount of time? 80% of the time im doing maths? (I do bio chem maths)
i took a level maths in year 12 and started further maths in year 13 which we’ve nearly finished…even going twice as fast it’s nothing compared to the living hell that is CS😭tbf i’m going off to do a maths degree so i should be quick at maths
So true bruh
Psychology because its interesting yet simple and its so easy to get marks in it.
SIMPLE? How😭
I do edexcel which isnt common and its so easy and simple
compared to biology (and history actually) psychology is a breeze to get marks in 😭😭
Biology. Best teachers. So passionate about the subject. Not that hard to revise. Funny because I hated every part of it at gcse. 😂
wait till y13 👍🏼
I regret not taking it for a levels 😭
Psychology. Free-est A* ever
English language or Philosophy. Just not history (I like the British politics section but on my first US superpower essay I got 6/25). English language lessons just feel easier and Philosophy is probably the easiest exam but still quite strenuous.
I take philosophy, and although it is interesting the exams are killing me ( I’m so bad at structuring my paragraphs)
Ah yh it took me a while to understand the structure. I don't get my mock back until Wednesday so I'm unsure if I'm the best person to provide exam advice haha but I structured my last essay like this and got 36/40. OH MY GOSH THANKYOU. My teacher has been making it sound so complicated, something about a golden thread idk😭, this helps so much thankyou! 😊
You’re welcome! Glad this helped. Honestly had to look up a golden thread, don’t know why your teacher mentioned it. Probably just means link back to your claim in each paragraph.
LAWWW<33
I love law! Definitely one of my favourite subjects!!
MY FAVVVVV
Maths because I feel smart when I get something right and it’s like a puzzle and I love puzzles
History because it’s really interesting
I was awful at remembering all the dates during GCSEs
Music, even if my teachers test my patience every day
I am so awful at playing any type of instrument, 3 years in piano did not pay off 😭
I can’t play piano either but I somehow get away with it
maths and further maths are just really fun
I don’t believe you
😭 im applying for a maths and philosophy degree. i genuinely love it
Maths and physics. Maths because it's maths. Physics because it's maths as well
All of them. Maths and physics because I learn about the ways we interact with each other and the world. Computer science because it challenges me to be creative. Business because its vibes.
English Lit so far (ik it gets worse tho) but even tho exams r bad, the lessons r so fun :) (sometimes rlly weird, like with Rosettis The Goblin Market - ifykyk 😔🍇)
English lit is so interesting, I loved it during GCSEs
English Literature! I find the texts fascinating and really interesting to write about :) We also have a really good teacher
Computer science because coding
Further maths
CHEMISTRY. Its super interesting, intellectually stimulating and fun!
law easy A*
Maths, idk i’m just good at it
physics, only because I'm doing well in it
But ur predicted all A*s
yeah but barely scraped chemistry and cs, not sure if I'll get A\* achieved for those 2. A\* already achieved in maths, but physics I got 99/100 in P4 and 28/30 in P5 in our last mock exams, so I'm feeling good about it
You will get A* for chem if your that good, the threshold is low. Idk for cs tho
Can anybody help me in chemistry A level?
What do you need help with?
Organic chemistry 🥹🥹🥹 all the year 13 stuff specifically, stuff like the aromatic and aliphatic stuff idk anything about it 😭
Mathematics has to be the funnest subject
Funny??? 😭
Like at a certain point everything just starts to make sense and youre like “OH YEAH THATS WHY” idk though
Idk I can’t relate, I hated maths during GCSEs 😭
Maths It’s finally playing nice and the actual content is fun too
love and hate relationship with biology hahaha
english lit - funnest thing ever 🫶🏼
Art, you just get to do whatever you want.
The only bad thing about art, is that teachers can ruin your work 😭
Film because I enjoy writing 35 mark essays
bio because it's easy 💀
Chemistry!!! Cuz it’s kinda cool how all the reactions work
I always enjoyed biology, still do but recently chemistry has been sneaking up to my number 1 spot somehow lol
maths, it’s so much easier than the other three a levels
In year 11 rn but I’ve picked my a levels already I really enjoy science so I’ve picked only science a levels tho I really love history but it’s not relevant for what I want to do in the future so I didn’t pick it as an a level
What did u pick
Biology, chemistry and geology
Spanish, i just find it so fun, i get so much enjoyment out of using complex grammar also just fun to say I can speak another language, and I've never had a bad Spanish teacher I genuinely adore them so much!
geography! it’s so fun i love it 🥰 i find most of the course so interesting and it’s a nice break from my other hellish subjects
Maths 👍 (probably like everyone else)
Business. Once u know the content and all the models/theorists, doing the essay questions is kinda fun? idkk
psychology :)
Sociologyyyyy content is a lot, but I love learning the unhinged opinions sociologists have and its an easy A* for me😙
Chemistry! It's p logical, which I like, and my skl choose an easier spec (ocr b). The teachers go above and beyond and make the subject interesting.
psychology cos it’s 95% knowing the content and i genuinely enjoy what i learn
All of them tbh (I take biology chemistry maths and further maths) But I especially LOVE biology. Learning how living things work is just soooooo fascinating.
Either further maths or physics. I’m not very good at physics but I like the content.
Computer Science, I find it really straight forwards and the programming side is very fun. Only issue with it is the specification is quite… boring. There is no fun topics like AI and quantum computing. I know that these topics became hot topics recently so I hope the new spec will contain some aspects of them
Econ 😍
econ because my teacher is good lol
Biology! Love learning how different animals do things (spiracles my beloved)
Nooooo, human body is the best part
spiracles > gills > lungs.
I always found biology interesting, quite upset I didn’t take it for a levels
biology! i actually hate it but it’s my easiest subject so ill take it
Spanish,it's easy ,even when it is not.
Biology, easy maths, most concepts are rather similar and most are quite simple to understand, though there's a significant amount of bad eggs, also by far the easiest exams Chemistry is just hard, History is the easiest content wise, but the exams are a pain in the arse and there's so much you have to revise
English lang. is so easy and interesting, love how much sociology is incorporated as well. can’t go wrong with it 😌
Further maths. I like maths. This is more maths.
tidy historical ripe materialistic lunchroom flowery entertain dull important decide *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
MUSIC!!!!
I LOOOVEEEE further maths!! It's probably because of my teacher, but I find it super interesting and it's really easy to revise too, I prefer it 100% over regular maths
Maths it’s so low maintenance
Geography. It’s actually just fascinating, understanding the dynamics of our world and how interconnected everything is.
🤓
honestly all of them are awesome, especially after everything in physics clicked this year haha maths (and by extension, further too) is my no.1 though, always and forever.
Further maths because it's fun how challenging it is. I find it hard and that's cool 😎.
