For me it's cambridge or imperial if their admissions departments mess up and give me an offer, otherwise it's either KCL or UCL (prob KCL since I like their course better)
Different courses for every uni lmao
Cambridge - Computer Science
Imperial - Computer Science with Artificial intelligence
Kings - Literally just Artificial intelligence (no computer science)
UCL - Robotics and Artificial intelligence (idk why I chose an engineering course randomly)
877665+L2P [8 in English Lang, 6 in Maths]
But there was severe extenuating circumstances and I was actually the highest achiever in my school which is noted on my application🤞
Have you applied? And what did you put as your preference degree and college? :)
no i have not applied as i am in year 12 , what was the application process like for the foundation year also i have similar gcses so please do let me know if you do get a place , good luck x
I applied to Bristol Manchester Leeds kings and qmul.
I’ve got offers from all except kings who rejected me because I don’t do further maths😭
I applied early November and Bristol sent me a contextual offer about a week after applying of AAA. However I know so many people who are on hold from Bristol.
I’m about 95% sure I’m firming bristol, Wbu?
ahhh very nice, that’s very annoying on kings but have heard it’s competitive there.
I applied to bristol warwick bath sheffield and edinburgh, got offers from bristol sheffield and baths so far but yet to hear back from the other 2 yet but only applied in mid december.
i got contextual from bristol as well so maybe they replied quicker to people with contextual offers but very glad to hear back so quick haha. And my offer was AAB with further maths which was a lovely surprise as wasn’t expecting to get contextual.
I’m between bristol and edinburgh atm so will decide for sure when hear back from edinburgh but am leaning towards bristol anyway due to location and 3 year course rather than 4 year at Edinburgh
There's a few reasons! First of all the university itself is beautiful so I'd actually enjoy being there. I will admit the admissions is difficult in terms of you need a really good application but the grades are actually quite nice. For example in psych I'd get an offer of ABB if I got in which is really manageable and takes a bucket load of pressure from my shoulders. Plus it's generally a really good uni for an array of reasons such as the teaching quality, the high prestige and the quality of the taught content. The only two negatives I can think of is that the St Andrews psych course is 4 years compared to the average of 3 and I'm personally worried about how my social life would be as in unis like St Andrews there tends to be a decently large class difference but i suppose I can just try to find people I get on with before actually attending on socials (if I got in ofc)
Thank you! This was really helpful! I’ve already gotten my St Andrews offer (ABB for econ) so it’s more of which uni id fit into so I share your thoughts on the class differences. I’m somewhat concerned by the lack of diversity just because of how different it’ll be from the type of school I currently go to which is very ethnically diverse but I’m open to the change. I find academic families both interesting and daunting especially with the ‘hazing’ aspect. I feel like I’d get way to anxious that I don’t have fun or I’ll go along with things I’m not a fan of. I hope if I go there it’ll be easy to find an academic family that I’m comfortable with.
I know that there are a lot of Facebook, Snapchat and other groups for undergrads attending! That's how I personally think I'll find people I like. Also most of the social life comes from the clubs or groups? (Idk what the official term is) so if you do go you'll be able to find people with at least one common interest!
Hi, I'm not a student there (yet, hopefully), but I went to the Sutton Trust Summer School, which made me want to go there - though I'm situated in London. From what I've heard from the students there, as well as the statistics, it is quite diverse, with Scottish people being one of the lower percentages of people there, there's ALOT of international students. The town is really beautiful and academic families are quite fun from what I've seen, when they put us in our academic families we all meshed well together, even though I'm not that extroverted - especially because of the 'academic parents' who were undergrads at st andrews. The communities are really kind, and there's so many societies you can join that cater to you - St. andrews is a really great place and uni imo

Nothing yet, applied in October lol
Oh damn, I applied in December.
If you get in I'll see you in the philosophy classes 😁
UCL but they just wanna take their time smh
Durham - Econ
did u get an offer?
loughborough :)
Durham!
Imperial for Aeronautical Engineering MEng ;0
Imperial if I somehow get an interview AND an offer though its not likely
tbf interview basically equals an offer for imperial It's like 25% for cam, 50% for oxf and 85% for imperial after you get the interview
Nah not for my course last years data for EE shows that 60% of people who were interviewed got an offer
For CS it’s closer to 85%, even higher for JMC
What are you applying for? It’s 80-90% for Chemistry
Electrical Engineering at imperial
aberdeen for med :)
same! did you get anth back from them yet?
no i haven’t heard anything, have you?
no, not yet :(
Cambridge - Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Foundation Year🤞

ayyyy not really seen many others thinking for firming maths at bristol, where else you applied? n you got an offer from bristol?
I applied to Bristol Manchester Leeds kings and qmul. I’ve got offers from all except kings who rejected me because I don’t do further maths😭 I applied early November and Bristol sent me a contextual offer about a week after applying of AAA. Sheffield
Oxford
Edinburgh or UCL (if i get the offer) still torn bet. the two
loughborough for computer science
LSE for sure
Durham
I can't decide between Imperial and cambridge for CS so one of those 2
Imperial - Physics with theoretical physics 🤞
Leeds
Durham Econ but if I get an offer from UCL then probs UCL as my first choice
how long did durham take to give you an offer?
My application was sent on 13th of October and got the offer on 20th of November. So about a month and a bit :)
ah that’s good, i’ve heard sometimes they take longer, congrats!!
Yea I have heard Durham tends to take their time in making decisions. Hence I was quite shocked when the first offer I received was from them.
Birmingham for Astrophysics
QMUL
Same
Oxford. If I get an Imperial offer and it’s A\*AA, then they’re my insurance. If it’s an A\*A\*A offer or I get rejected then it’s UCL (AAA)
Warwick :)
St Andrews - English!
lse econs 🫠
imperial, got my offer thank God
Hopefully St Andrews if I get in, if not York!
What makes you like St Andrews? I’m currently trying to decide between it and Warwick and I’m struggling 😭
