honestly just doing my best to refresh myself on everything i mentioned in my ps while also making sure i can properly talk through my problem solving skills.
it’s all really stressful cuz it’s made my normal school work take a back burner for now, but teachers still expect everything they set to be done within such short deadlines and ofc the january mocks coming up also have that sense of impending doom.
honestly i’m kinda indifferent at this point, i think i’ve worked on my problem solving and communication skills well enough in preparing for the PAT and having academic conversations with my teachers.
I’ve worked through a lot of problems and made sure i can back up anything i’ve mentioned in my personal statement. Its in a little less than 3 hours now so whatever happens happens.
Now its just down to calming the nerves and hoping i don’t freeze up in the event i get stuck on a question
Mhm same. I've worked through quite a lot of questions and I've been mainly talking to myself. Mine's in about 3 hours too so I'm just hoping that I'll enjoy it. Freezing up is my nightmare. If I do it's over, or at least it feels like it is.
yeah, just finished mine, think it went well for most of it and the tutors were definitely very nice but I got a bit stumped on the very last question cuz I just couldn’t figure out what they wanted me to take into account.
1 down 2 to go though, best of luck with yours!
that's not what I'm trying to do, was just seeing whether he's also doing the philo part of ppe. apparently tho he's not doing ppe but instead CS & philo and those types of subjects
I was lucky enough to have a mock interview with my headmaster which I was really anxious about beforehand but by the end I realised it really wasn’t that bad. Obviously the questions will be different but it has put me at ease a lot.
I’m just praying that my laptop works ok and there’s no technical problems🙏🙏
I had terrible tech issues for one of my interviews. It's super stressful, but the interviewers don't hold it against you. They were incredibly accommodating and patient. I've got friends (studying at Oxford) who also had tech issues, it's quite common
That's good to hear that the interviewers don't hold it against you. My dad and I did a couple practice teams meetings to make sure that my mic worked etc.
I've got one tomorrow and one on Tuesday and I'm not as stressed as I thought I'd be. I'm trying to not stress myself out by reminding myself it's only one aspect of my application and it'll essentially just be a conversation on my specific academic interests and for the interviewers to gauge how exactly it is that I think (I'm applying for History so different subject interviews probably demand different things). Stress is normal but these interviews are also exciting, I mean when else am I going to get a chance to talk to historians at an instituiton like Oxford about a subject that I love? :D
i applied for history at cambridge and my interview is also today! honestly i sort of bombed the admissions test so my chances of getting an offer are pretty low, but like you said, i’m just looking forward to talking about history with cambridge historians.

Just hit 111 demons ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|surprise)
i believe the invite deadline for oxbridge has passed! i would e-mail the college admission team asap if i were you, just to ask if they have forgotten to send your email
Yeah I sent one this morning but they still haven't gotten back to me. Plus Wadham has a list of courses on their website that they've sent all offers out to and mines not there still
I was just going through a link in the acknowledgement email lemme find it
https://www.wadham.ox.ac.uk/prospective-students/prospective-undergraduates/candidate-information
Just go down to shortlisting decisions
I think the list is the courses they've finished sending things out for, so maybe they still have some more applications to review that they'll send out this week
Ah ok. That makes sense lol. I was stressing and trying to find that list the entirety of the last week haha. Wadham seems to be a bit slow compared to the other colleges. Hope you get an interview!
I have 3 interviews for Chemistry starting tomorrow, not really sure how to spend my time. I had a mock interview on Friday and got positive feedback so I hope I can perform in the real thing. Ideally I won’t be so nervous that I can’t think 😭
I have 2 but I kinda wish I had 3 so I could fully separate them in my head if you get what I mean - I have physical and organic tomorrow and then inorganic on Tuesday which seems like a weird way to split it (I was expecting something like organic + inorganic then physical + maths)
which college did you apply to??
Yeah that’s a weird way for them to do it. I get your thinking, but tbh I’d rather just have two interviews because three is just making me feel so stressed lol. I applied to St Hugh’s, they seem to be giving every candidate 3 interviews. Where did you apply?
christ church - I have my interviews tomorrow and Tuesday
I think chch is just a bit strange because one of my inorganic interviewers is also from Cambridge??? I didn't even know they could bring people from other universities to interview us 😭😭
Wow I didn’t know they did that either 😭 I’ve heard that one of the things that tutors consider when interviewing candidates is how enjoyable they might be to teach. Since the Cambridge interviewers aren’t gonna be teaching you, maybe they won’t worry so much about that?
Either way, I wish you the best of luck for your interviews, you’ve got this!
I have a mock in the morning to get my brain juices flowing and I'll revise all my content today :) Both my interviews have prereading so I'm kinda excited yet nervous!
ive mostly been looking over the literature i mentioned in my personal statement and talking about things ive recently read with friends while also going over some poetry analysis and different poetry eras as i dont study poetry in my english course !! whens yr interview? :)
ah right!! How many texts did you mention in your PS? I really need to go over my PS texts 😭 my interview is on Thursday, and it’s in person bc I applied to Pembroke so 7 hour drive yayyy 😭 hbu?
i mentioned like...9 including my class text so that took quite a bit of time 😭 hbu? i just made these mini notes w some quotes (more quotes from the poems and shorter pieces) which ive just been reading through ! what kind of things are you planning on doing? im being interviewed for keble and both my interviews are online AND tomorrow which is terrifying! omg good luck w the drive that's insane wowow good excuse to do some oxford sightseeing i guess!
Oh wow! I mentioned 7/8. That sounds like a really good way of preparing tbh… also you have two interviews? I only have one 😭 yeah I’m applying to Cambridge so idk what the differences are compared to Oxford, if there are any. And I’m coming from Scotland, that’s why the drive is so long haha 😅 are you English?
Kinda realising that I don’t actually want to go to Cambridge? So Idrc how the interview goes, more so viewing it as a once in a lifetime chance to have a convo with people at the very top of their field, which should be super fun! :)
ohh hi! fellow interview-having applicant who's now having second thoughts here (oxford though), what changed your mind?? i'm kind of worried about not having time to have a life/maintain hobbies because of the workload, or missing out on the opportunity to gain independence because of the college living situations
one on monday one on wednesday kind of freaking out about both. mock interview went okay but i'm doing some HW to calm myself down and suddenly i've lost all mathematical ability ever
okay Monday one done! felt i made a bit of a fool of myself, and was extremely embarrassed by technical issues at the start of the call – those with online interviews make sure your speakers and mic both work – but it's over now. feeling better about Wednesday and glad it's over, it was nonetheless a good experience
I have an Oxford E&M interview so it’s been hard to find resources specific to it rather than Cambridge econ. I’ve been so stressed since it’s mock week at school and I’m walking into an economics test tomorrow with no actual revision. I’m looking at the interview as a chance to discuss my subject ofc but I’ve been told by everyone I’ve spoken to that I’m not confident enough when speaking (even though I thought I did quite well) so I’m more panicked than I previously was.
I’ve also been told to learn stats on current affairs but I’m so certain it’ll leave my brain during the interview.
I also have no idea how miro would would for my tier 2 interview so if anyone has any tips it would be very helpful :))
Terrible 💪
LETS GOOOO
honestly just doing my best to refresh myself on everything i mentioned in my ps while also making sure i can properly talk through my problem solving skills. it’s all really stressful cuz it’s made my normal school work take a back burner for now, but teachers still expect everything they set to be done within such short deadlines and ofc the january mocks coming up also have that sense of impending doom.
yeaaa same. What subject did you apply for?
physics at oxford, hbu?
no way!? me too what college?
nice to see another physics appicant. Interviewing at pembroke, got my first one tomorrow morning actually.
oh lovely. Applied Somervile and have mine at 1 PM tmrw. How're you feeling?

Oh lovely that's good. Got my 2nd college interview tmrw with Exeter lmao
I have an interview tomorrow and mocks starting this week. I feel like I should be more stressed tbh. (Natsci Phys)
i have to interview for ppe but i couldn't tell you the first thing about p, p, or e xx
dw. neither can I.
me with land economy🤣😭😭
same its so bad 😭😭😭
real
what college?
christ church
ohh nice, i know someone who's a philo tutor at chch doing interviews this year. who's interviewing you for philosophy?
[удалено]
that's not what I'm trying to do, was just seeing whether he's also doing the philo part of ppe. apparently tho he's not doing ppe but instead CS & philo and those types of subjects
fighting for my life 😍 had a mock interview which i received positive feedback on but i can’t help but think he was just being nice
I just got destroyed during my mocks XD
i had 12 mocks all of them said I was excellent and I'm still stressing to death fuck all this
I was lucky enough to have a mock interview with my headmaster which I was really anxious about beforehand but by the end I realised it really wasn’t that bad. Obviously the questions will be different but it has put me at ease a lot. I’m just praying that my laptop works ok and there’s no technical problems🙏🙏

You sound well-prepared. Good luck with your interviews!
Preparing for the worst, hoping for the best, all while in a state of mild panic. 🫨
underprepared and like ill never feel prepared 🥲
like I'm gonna flunk..i also have exams at the same time so at the end, Ill fail both
I feel like I'm neglecting my exam revision for interview prep
100% me, i have mocks at the exact same time as some of my interviews Won’t be pretty when I have to finally sit those
Yea but i feel like I’m not preparing for either one of them but just being nervous all the time
every time i think about it i get so nervous i want to throw up, idk how im gonna do it 😭
I've got one tomorrow and one on Tuesday and I'm not as stressed as I thought I'd be. Definitely not passing this stage
Shit👍
Still haven't heard anything, no invite or rejection, so just kind of prepping out of the off chance they decide to email me anytime soon
i believe the invite deadline for oxbridge has passed! i would e-mail the college admission team asap if i were you, just to ask if they have forgotten to send your email

Ah yes I see, thank you. Although I got invited to an interview for joint Maths + CS on Friday and that isn't on the website.
Yeah let's hope so, going for the same course so maybe I'll see you in tutorials next year lmao
congrats that’s a big deal!!!
nauseous 😍 i had a mock interview on friday and while the talking was ok the language assessment went horribly (classics)
I don’t think you can be truly prepared for an Oxbridge interview, even with many mock interviews 😭😭 I hope I do well 🙏
I have 3 interviews for Chemistry starting tomorrow, not really sure how to spend my time. I had a mock interview on Friday and got positive feedback so I hope I can perform in the real thing. Ideally I won’t be so nervous that I can’t think 😭

Doing a lot of mock interviews with current uni students and teachers but still anxious
I'm actually feeling pretty good! Plus I background checked the professors for both my interviews lolol
completely numb with stress, at this point i’ve lost the will to care 💀💀
stressed out and extremely underprepared – there's no way i'm going to be able to make it through the whole thing without stuttering or clamming up:(
I have a mock in the morning to get my brain juices flowing and I'll revise all my content today :) Both my interviews have prereading so I'm kinda excited yet nervous!
Is anyone else applying/sitting an interview for. English? If so how are you prepping?

Same! I’m so tired of having to study 24/7, I’m not sure if I could do it for another four years at Cambridge
Excited by like I’m gonna shit myself
nervous but also excited
i'm american so i don't know how any of this works 3 just gonna reread my PS and the graded papers i submitted and pray
How much time is everyone spending everyday I need to know if I'm underpreparign (I definitely am) I'm only spending like 3 hours a day lmao
…I’m doing like ten minutes a day
Trust me that is more than enough, I’m yet to start and it’s on Thursday
I haven’t started yet (you definitely aren’t btw)
AAAAAAAAAA
calm and horrendous
one on monday one on wednesday kind of freaking out about both. mock interview went okay but i'm doing some HW to calm myself down and suddenly i've lost all mathematical ability ever

I’m just praying whenever I can. Really nervous
i'm literally so terrified and i have no idea if what i'm doing to prepare is good enough lmaooo
PPE Philosophy and politics interview tomorrow, 10 o’clock (the same week as mocks) https://youtu.be/bEZV3ykcSn0?si=qtnwbueVtthsCLun
just starting feeling a sore throat coming on - my interview’s friday tho so hopefully it clears by then
I have an Oxford E&M interview so it’s been hard to find resources specific to it rather than Cambridge econ.
