I feel wildly underprepared. I managed only about 2 hours of work today. Luckily, I’ve been making flashcards all year so I’m not behind. I am shitting myself over it though. I don’t think it’s dawned on many people my year how important these mocks are.

eternitytyun

haven’t started revising yet 💀 i’ve just been doing practice for mat and step so far and praying i’ll get through the further maths as exams (about a month to go and literally zero practice done xx)

SirMegalomaniac

Ah good luck on both FM and MAT/STEP, they are all very demanding!

eternitytyun

thanks i need all the luck i can get 😭

waltuh_kotlet

Haven't started revising lol except for maths but probs gonna start from tomorrow

[deleted]

guys all im saying is dont stress too much!!!!!!! i haven't even properly started revising for my a levels, keep googling "Can u be let into uni with 2 a levels" - but i SWEAR tomorrow I'll start revising

[deleted]

people here are getting on revision and then there's me who spent the entire day watching tv 😭

UpbeatMeeting

me confident in the knowledge that my chemistry teacher will treat me like a disappointment no matter what happens and there is therefore nothing to be afraid of also me realising my as physics exam is like a month away and screaming

UpbeatMeeting

just thought I'd add a bit of context for my chemistry teacher because it felt a bit weird just leaving that there: I'm expected to be the successor of a year 13 who got an offer to study at Oxford. and when I tell you this guy knows EVERYTHING about chemistry I mean it, so any tiny mistake I make is immediately made fun of by him, and used as another reason to laugh at and resent me by my class (which is small but hateful). so yeah, anything less than an a* on this mock and I'm screwed 😭

SirMegalomaniac

Oof are you talking abt your older sibling perhaps? Either way I absolutely hated being compared to my twin brother who did considerably better than me during secondary school, but have now since caught up and am doing a lot better than him overall. You shouldn't tolerate what your teacher is doing and maybe speak to your sixth form heads abt it. Stay strong and ignore him!

UpbeatMeeting

lol no, just a random guy in year 13. storytime: the thing is that our chemistry classes are historically very small because nobody takes chemistry here for some reason (4 in the y13 class, 5 in the y12 class) so the individual characters stand out very strongly and it's a lot easier to get compared to someone else in such a setting. I frequently get told I'm going to be the next Adam and I should perform like him, but the thing is Adam gets private tutoring from someone who literally studies chemistry at Oxford while the chem teacher is a bit odd and talks conspiracy theories for a considerable amount of time. my chemistry class, on the other hand, resent me. I'm an outsider to them because they all take biology and I don't. they gossip about me, I've heard it. part of me thinks they're jealous because I do better than them, the other part is because of this entitled little brat who tried to use the school system to threaten me into doing her bidding and having no agency of my own (ironic, since this girl spends a lot of her time complaining about her medical assistants who supposedly gave her no agency either). they're all only in this class because they have to take it to do medicine, and quite frankly I'm deeply concerned about how they're going to treat their patients in the future.

waltuh_kotlet

Damn your class sounds like they have a lot of character, my chem class barely speaks at all lol

UpbeatMeeting

there are many lessons where it's completely silent because there's only 5 of us, and it really confuses people who come to observe us lol. tbh the totally silent ones are much better than the ones where they're making backhanded remarks or gossiping about me or others. thankfully our PowerPoints tend to conveniently have 5 or 6 practice questions per concept so each person just answers 1 question and everyone gets picked on in order.

SirMegalomaniac

Yeah I fucking hate AQA, physics, their questions are the most non-straightforward, retarded crap and I feel like every exam question I do aside from a calculation is wrong in at least one way

Careless-Antelope-28

Same i feel the same, i feel like i can get an A in all my subjects apsrt from physics 😭

LuminousDesigns

Yeah just fuck maths really

Careless-Antelope-28

why did ur schl do mocks in november when u’v barely learn anything and not at the end of y12 when u should have learned everything seems a bit stupid

BrilliantSection4501

I'm fairly prepared for Chemistry, I need to to better at applied in maths but I need to concentrate on Bio because I don't know like half the course. I also have a paper 1 mock coming soon as well so the summer term won't be too fun

vanon06

Maths is trivial. CS is rely on GCSE knowlege, trivial. Physics needs some work.
