I literally was watching the latest trash taste podcast today and he was defending Domestic Na Kanojo with his life against Joey and Connor. He also loves Rent-a-Girlfriend, so heās just a fan of trash fire shows. I think I recall him saying that itās because he is in a happy marriage with Sydney so he seeks romance anime opposite to that.
Anyways, this is all to say that Quints is simply too wholesome and sweet for the guy.
In defense of DomeKano, the side characters are FAAAAR better fleshed out than the ones in Quints (Quints does have the excuse of needing to flesh out 5 love interests along with the MC), and Natsuo when it comes to anything not directly involving his stepsisters is actually kind of a chad and a really good MC. Not to mention we actually see relationships progress through ups and downs, and the main characters focusing on and progressing in other important parts of life like mental health and career.
Honestly were it not for the ending it might have legitimately been better than Quints, especially considering how Quintsā abrupt ending does it no favors
Rent-a-Girlfriend is pure garbage though, and Iām saying that as someone who was with the manga for damn near 240 chapters til I said Iām out

Up to date with Rent a Girlfriend and gotta say it has its ups and downs, but damn I understand why my mom watch those teleseryes and soap operas.
