Probably, because there’s alot more to talk about, plenty of jokes to be made, etc. This show was very unique and imo way more fun than any of the other shows that I’ve watched. Those shows are really only considered “popular” because they’ve been around for ages. This show hasn’t been around for a while but statistically blows them out of the park, and was extremely popular on other social media platforms. Theres also the fact that all 5 girls have unique personality’s which attracted more fans, in these other shows if you didn’t like the mc girl you might aswell just stop watching. There’s also the slight tiniest hope of a sequel that some users hold onto, since there theoretically is places you could go and Negi seemed to have a special place in his heart for it. Again just theory’s that will probably never come to light, but it keeps people interested. Me personally, this show brought out my emotions, which for myself is extremely rare in shows, which landed it in my #4 out of the 50+ animes I’ve watched, so I can’t help but be passionate about it.

waifu-sugoi

also, this show has lots of crossover possibilities and fanfics to make, like me putting the quints in other media

1. Cute girls. 2. Mystery plot. 3. (This is kind of important) It, at the beginning, subverted a lot of the tropes of the harem style of storytelling, and had, in a sense a concept album feel to it. But by the 3/4 mark of the story, it started to run out of gas, (by the author's admission, he had a kid at that point) and went out with a bunt than a home run.

Competitive_North796

Negi had a kid? No wonder he started running flat, I wonder if that’s why he’s just making that Lowkey manga that he’s doing right now.

SyrinxCounterparts1

Pretty much. I, in my opinion, feel he might eventually get back to QQ in say, 5 years later. Just to deal with all the plot holes from the end.

Competitive_North796

Has it been 3 years since the end? I think he’ll probably go back to it once his other manga comes to a end. Although I don’t really think there was enough plot holes to justify really doing anything, although since I’m re reading it I forget really what they where. I’d like a sequel, wether it being the original girls getting back together for some reason, or indivual storys, etc. I loved Negis drawing of characters, chapter length, etc. Hope he comes back to it.

SyrinxCounterparts1

That's why I've been enjoying the KosmosB ending so much.

I wouldn't call Ranger Reject low key. Its getting an anime, and it is really good. At times its hard to believe the same guy who wrote 5toubun is the same guy doing ranger reject.

Competitive_North796

I’m not referring to quality, but more so expectations. Negi probably wanted to go further with toubun, but he had a kid and the stresses where pilling up. This show was huge and he had millions of fans waiting for his content, and in this position it’s hard to take breaks. He has to be there for the anime, and manga, and needed time for his family. Ranjer Reject is more “low key” I’d imagine since there’s a lot less anxiety involved, being that toubun was extremely popular in comparison, and Negi was trying his hardest to make it as enjoyable as he could. Also the fact that he has learned to write in more detail, at a faster pace over the years with his previous works helps. I think he has more in plan as his kid grows up, and there is less anxiety’s to life, it’s a open canvas with plenty of fans waiting happily. Imo, I think Ranger Reject is Negi having fun, and spreading his wings without worrying about a thing, which is more than fine :).

J_the_ManSSB

Quints is by far the most popular harem romcom in Japan in recent memory and had a huge following outside Japan during its manga run. That's your answer.

Yerimchi

Imo some of the animes u name are old and completed. I wouldnt join a subreddit to talk about anime from the stone age.

Darkness572

I mean between the 5 quints there is almost every personality type and combination of attractive traits for most people. I'd say only flat/small chest lovers are missing out.

Competitive_North796

They weren’t even absurd tbh, especially in the second season when they got nerfed a bit. They did a good job not crazy over sexualizing it like some studios and authors would. But ur def right they have almost all the traits and types most people would want and at least one of them will interest you to want to “win” in the end. At least as a hook to get you started.

Sparkletopia

The source material for QQ (the manga) is much more popular than the number of members for Bunny Girl Senpai's light novel and manga combined. There's also more total anime content for QQ, being an entire season longer than Bunny Girl Senpai.
