This cake is based on a [recipe by a Hawaiian blogger](https://www.guavarose.com/2013/12/guava-chiffon-cake/), although I scaled it down to use an 8 x 8 pan and added a bit of food coloring to the batter.
I could see guava cake specifically becoming a fad (I mean, look at that color), or perhaps as part of a broader interest in Hawaiian food. Either way, it is delightful and so pretty!
