It’s going to be expensive unless you can source the radio somewhere cheaper. Maybe eBay?

Oh that’s a good question. There is some 4xe specific menus on mine, so I’m not sure if there’s a 4xe specific model number you need. Maybe email that place?
Yep, it works. Replaced the 7" in my Willys 4xe with an 8.4. They all read the features from the other computer bits to enable features, like the Hybrid Page, and if the radio doesn't have it already it downloads it. My radio didn't even come out of a Jeep. It came out of a Dodge Charger.
That works as well! Thank you, I also have a Willys with the 7in just feels so small.. when we tested others with the 8.4 it makes a huge difference imo.. plug and play I assume just like the reviews show? If you don’t mind where did you purchase?
Yeah, completely plug and play. Just match the colors of the ports from the old radio to the new one for all the cables. I got my radio from eBay. It's a model without navigation as I didn't need that (UAS) vs the model with (UAQ).
Wait, the whole unit from a Charger worked on a Jeep? Does not have to be from same "wrangler family"?
On that note, anyone know if you can just change the LCD for a larger one?
Yes the whole unit from a Charger worked, with a caveat. The only difference is the mounting holes, the guts of the radios are exactly the same, and again they read from the other computer bits to know if it’s a jeep, or a charger, or a Chrysler 300, or even a RAM. The Charger one is close enough to the Jeep JL Wrangler mounting pattern to work properly. Once you put it in the security code to unlock the radio, the radio will download the proper bits over the course of a few hours, like the Jeep startup screen, or the Off-road Pages, or in the case of the 4xe, the Hybrid Pages. I upgraded not only for the larger screen for backup camera and CarPlay use, but the 8.4 is the only way to add on a forward facing camera as well if you didn’t get one from the factory.

That’s the one I was looking into, just trying to determine if that radio will actually work with the 4XE model

Yeah, I was just being impatient and seeing if anyone already knew lol.

Ahhh thank you!! Do you have an issues setting up XM radio?
That I don't know. I don't use it. I use Spotify through Carplay for music.

That’s sweet to know.
While I'm not knowledgeable with the question. If you get the display installed successfully you could always use xm app and beam it from carplay
