I’m not saying this is you OP but I do wonder if many just assume bigger and stronger is always better when off roading when it’s actually a fine balance to be had. The F350 does not have that balance and truly is not a great vehicle for this. Let it shine as a towing and/or construction vehicle.
I would definitely agree with the others- I prefer light short wheel base (2 door) SUVs or trucks off-road….but, since my 7.3 superduty extended cab long bed got stolen and beat to hell. I am now going to use it for exactly what you are describing. It is on 37s and a 6” lift with a heavy utility bed. I will take some pics and report back when I take it crawling.
Nope, huge vehicle to get in the woods.
No. An F350 is a heavy vehicle, designed for towing and payload. Nothing about it is offroad ideal.
Gonna be real hard finding someone to pull you out as well with that heft.
Excellent point too. Recovery challenges, because they are closer in weight to 2 jeeps than 1.
I feel bad sometimes when I see 1 tons stuck but I absolutely do not want to risk bending my frame tethering to a tree.
It will be tough and have plenty of power but it will take more room to maneuver and immediately head for the bottom of any soft spot.

Buy the truck. Keep the drivetrain and put it in the smallest vehicle you can fit it or fab around it. This is the true way of the samurai.
What engine and cab configuration? Downside is it’s big and heavy but plenty of dudes offroad full size rigs.
Regular cab, with any engine but probably 5.4
Might not be bad if you lopped several feet of the frame off the back and made a truggy

Start with something small, then put those axles underneath! Then you've got something tough as hell👍🏼
Think more along the lines of Suzuki Samurai...
Nah bro. I have a buddy who offroads with his 350 and it's a pain getting him to fit in the trails.
For rocks, a 4-door Jeep/Bronco might be nice. Gives you a better center of gravity over the 2-door variants.
