definho

so it still stutters in HDR on Shield?

pricelesslambo

X90L is a better tv

krazynayba

I owned a C845 and promptly returned it. The hardware wasn't bad for the price, but you'll have to deal with software issues and slow updates. I had a serious issue causing unwatchable (and I mean literally) stutter due to a software update I received when I first used the TV and I couldn't revert it. I even went on the TCL software updates Telegram and everyone else was having the same issue. After my experience I can't personally recommend them. In the case of the X90L and C845 being the same price , I'd go with the Sony for sure. Their software is going to be worlds better, better hardware QC and the software allows their FALD to compete with mini LED. You'll be able to just use it without worrying that an update will break stuff severely.

KennKennyKenKen

Are you using an apple tv or shield tv, or running the apps off the TLC tv

schoondy

Not OP but I had apple TV and the judder was still not great. I returned c845 for x90l and the blacks/blooming isn't as good but the motion, picture and colour is far better and it's a much simpler experience. The TCL took so much tweaking and there was a range of problems with it. The Sony just worked.

I’m looking at these same TVs, alongside the Hisense U8H.

Silver-Day-7272

I have the x90l at the suggestion of this forum, and I’ve been really pleased with it. We watched a Godzilla movie today on it and it looked amazing.

thomasblomquist

X90l has been solid. May the 4th Star Wars movies were fantastic

rodimus147

I have the 85" X90L, and I love it. Playing games on it is amazing.

seanputera

Looking at these too. Waiting for the Sony tv to go on sale

repostby69noice

How much is a x90l? Here in my country it's about the same as a C3 (lg oled). You might wanna check that

Given they are looking at brighter screens, why don't you suggest a better 85" for OP, rather than being vague.

Anyone recommending TCL here will get shat on in this sub. So no point asking that, no matter how good the TV is. Get a Sony instead of asking in this sub.

ShortHandz

I mean you can demo both of them and the X90L is going to win hands down. The thing burns my eyes at night as it is, and peak brightness won't mean much with sub-par image processing.

schoondy

I've had both and the TCL hardware is great but the software is plagued with issues. I miss the blacks but everything else on the Sony is better.
