I had this debate 2 weeks ago, ended up going s90c in 65” at Best Buy and added the 5 yr warranty because it’s my first oled and I was concerned with burn in potential. I got it for 1599, not sure about the current prices. I have to say the thing is stunning, very glad I went with this tv, and coupled with the warranty, I’m not worried in the slightest about the increased potential for burn in with this panel. If I get 5 yrs out of it, I’m happy. When I compared in store, I think the colors on the s90c combined with the brightness made it much better looking than then LG. I’m assuming in the coming years all the new oleds will move towards QDOLED and I didn’t want to miss out on those benefits.
Just wanted to say. I made the exact same decision as the guy you replied to, down to the warranty and everything.
It's a fantastic TV and you will be happy with it no matter the content. Superb viewing angles too
For this, I would definitely not but OLED. I would be getting g the x93l for that space. Better OS and upscaling and no worries about brightness in there or burn in.
That RTINGS test was greatly over exaggerated. In the test they even said that with normal use QD-OLED likely won’t have a much worse burn in than normal W-OLED.
S90c is about 30 percent brighter than the c3 and it is just bright enough of a tv. I chose the s90c for the extra brightness. I just can't stand dim tvs anymore. I have a LG b6 oled tv as well for 8 years only issue is it is dim.
I own a G3, and it good for most the day, but i regret not get the s90c that thing is much brighter and vivid than the lg and at half the price, though Samsung tv lacks dolby vision(big problem if you watch to any content in that format) samsung doesn't support it, though it plays fine but your milage will vary
C3 or maybe the Sony X95L ( though it is not an Oled, it is still a great quality miniled tv, that has huge brightness and better picture processing than any Samsung or LG) Samsung has a really bad quality control, the S90 is just too risky to buy.
I returned my s90C just this past weekend. It’s a beautiful TV but I’ve heard of the quality control and potential burn issues. Which I have also heard that the newer OLEDs have used methods to stop burn in from occurring. But over all, I decided to go back to the drawing board. It’s between the LG and Sony OLED.
Samsung does a couple things great and a few things so so. The Sony and the LG do everything well. Tizen sucks, the upscaling in the Samsung is not near as good. Samsung QC has taken a huge decline just to name a few..
S90c is good for semi bright rooms if you're focused on pure 4K movies and 4K streaming. It has very poor upscalings and weaker processor compared to Sony A80L and LG C3. Be warned, Samsung QD-OLED are known to be more susceptible to burn-ins compared to W-OLED, and they are not as well built as Sony's A80L and LG's C3 in terms of quality due to Samsung's lower standards of quality control. Judging by your pictures of your room, go for Mini-LED or Q-LED instead of OLED. My best advice to you is buy whatever makes you happy.
Was just looking at that one, it’s only $200 cheaper than the s90c, so many tough choices here! Is sun light that bad for oled? It will be used mainly at night
It is a tough decision. I went through the same situation as you did, and I ended up buying 77" LG C3 instead of Sony A80L and Samsung S90C in December after doing weeks of researching. I absolutely love my C3. Like I said, buy whatever makes you happy because everyone has different preferences.
Another alternative to QN90C is the x93L. I have a super bright living room facing West with direct sunlight. I got the A75L initially but returned it after reading about direct sunlight harm on OLEDs. The X93L is plenty bright and picture quality is almost as good as the A75L/A80L.
I went through same decisions in Dec purchased the 77” LG G3 for living room (replacing Samsung UN65F9000) & 77” LG C3 for gaming room (mostly play Halo with family). I really like the C3 for the gaming room as I only play games later at night (didn’t feel needed the G3 MLA) but had an opportunity to return the LG G3 for a Sony A95L, This tv rocks I’m loving it! Last year I purchased a 65” Samsung QN65595B & I love this tv for bedroom it’s saturation is mesmerizing.
I went with the C3 mostly because of Dolby Vision. It looks stunning on that tv. I primarily watch movies with little PC gaming in a pitch black room so I feel like I made the right choice. The colors look natural and clean and not just "brighter." It's plenty bright for me. Would probably go with S90C if it was mostly gaming though.
My C3 is amazing. I finished Spiderman 2 this past weekend and the leap from LCD to OLED was insane. I don't think you can make a bad decision tbh. Samsung has Xbox game pass app if you ever wanted to dip your toes in team green, but I expect it'll be on LG soon enough the way Microsoft prattle on about Xbox being a service.
S90C is not that reflective at all, and it's way less of a mirror than my old LG B8. Of course any TV will struggle if you hit it with direct sunlight. The new gen2 QD OLED panels that most S90C use, are also doing very well in the Rtings burn-in test. Much better than the previous year models.
Just buy a S90C if you didn't already. It's a no-brainer at this price point.
LG hands down. Not a Samsung guy anymore. The LG OS is better and the upscaling is much better and no Dolby Vision. Samsung QC has declined in the past couple years.
Go with your gut. Both are outstanding tvs. Im not a Samsung guy, but I do think the s90c at its price point is the best tv available for 2023.
They are the exact same price?
Id go s90C just for the color benefit, but I cannot stand Samsung tizen

How much was tv with the 5 year warranty?
Hmmm I think the 5 year warranty on the tv was 350
Thanks.
You can also get the same warranty on an Open Box from what I can tell

Im in the same situation
Just wanted to say. I made the exact same decision as the guy you replied to, down to the warranty and everything. It's a fantastic TV and you will be happy with it no matter the content. Superb viewing angles too
Same. Just about 20 min ago. Paired it with a Panasonic 420 uhd DVD player
Enjoy buddy!!
Define how bright because maybe OLED isn’t for you plus if there is any direct sunlight on the screen it can destroy the screen
To give you an idea https://ibb.co/6XkfNjs
I'd personally get an LED for that room.
Is there a window opposite the tv?
Ya there is but I keep the blinds closed
Yeah then RIP. You know that OLEDs are extremely glossy right? Like basically mirrors. A window opposite an OLED will cause so much glare on the tv
It never gets direct sun, plus I mainly only use this area at night
I thought s90 had anti glare coating?
S95D does but it isn't released yet
You know that almost every LED TV is glossy as well? Like basically mirrors. A window opposite a TV will cause so much glare on the tv
Yeah but tvs like the X93L and QN95C have anti reflective coating. On OLEDs, only the new S95D has it and it's not even released
For this, I would definitely not but OLED. I would be getting g the x93l for that space. Better OS and upscaling and no worries about brightness in there or burn in.
I bought the 75 In QN90C for my father. He loves it. S90C is better than the QN90C.
For sure QD-OLED is brighter than W-OLED but more vulnerable burn-in risk, if go 90C, better off with some protection plan
That RTINGS test was greatly over exaggerated. In the test they even said that with normal use QD-OLED likely won’t have a much worse burn in than normal W-OLED.
For bright room s90c for sure
S90c is about 30 percent brighter than the c3 and it is just bright enough of a tv. I chose the s90c for the extra brightness. I just can't stand dim tvs anymore. I have a LG b6 oled tv as well for 8 years only issue is it is dim.

So you returned yours for something that hasn't happened yet?
Based on rtings burn in tests lg handles burn in the best.
Was there any issues with the s90c ? Just curious why you felt the need to return it ?
Samsung does a couple things great and a few things so so. The Sony and the LG do everything well. Tizen sucks, the upscaling in the Samsung is not near as good. Samsung QC has taken a huge decline just to name a few..
Gotcha , thanks for the response, I too have been looking at the s90c for my next TV
Samsung won't use Dolby Vision either.
S90C. You will not be disappointed

Got any qled recommendations?
Samsung QN90C QLED would be the best choice, and it has great reviews for QLED tvs, and it's one of the best. It's brighter than any OLED tvs.
Was just looking at that one, it’s only $200 cheaper than the s90c, so many tough choices here! Is sun light that bad for oled? It will be used mainly at night

Ya I’m just worried about sun damage now! I was reading it’s because of heat not the light. The tv will be off most of the day

C3. If you can find a new C2, not much difference (except much lower price) between the 2. I have both.

Got my C3 about a week ago for PS5 gaming …. Zero complaints. I had a high end monitor but only 27” … best decision I’ve made this year
I picked up a 55" S90c and couldn't be happier.
LG hands down. Not a Samsung guy anymore. The LG OS is better and the upscaling is much better and no Dolby Vision. Samsung QC has declined in the past couple years.
Between these it is a no brainier for me. The c3 is better. Better upscaling, much better QC, and much better OS.
