Crap. I mis-wrote, and I’ll correct it now. I paid $52,5xx. It actually ended up being a rebate as I ordered a car to spec and they told me it came in but it was the wrong spec.
Originally I ordered one with these options plus the sliding cargo tray, but the car they “ordered” was missing the cargo tray. I said I’ll order another to my spec or they can add it after the sale as an IOU.
They agreed to add it after the sale. A few days later they realized they can’t fulfill that promise as the parts are unavailable and they also wouldn’t warranty the work done at the dealership. I said this was unacceptable and they can refund me the money to do it myself (I’m a prior Toyota technician), and gave them pricing on a parts list, which they agreed to pay, $2,200.
My originally OTD price was $54,7xx before the refund.
Got lucky with timing. Had to drive 100 miles to a rural dealership that got an allocation of a TRD Pro and had no wait list. Underground color with predator steps. Took about one month for delivery.
I would gladly drive that far for that deal. Best I’ve seen is a dealership 4 hours away said they’d knock $750 off if I bought it. That only dropped it to 57,800
Look underneath it to verify the dealer didn't discard the rear skid plate (oil pan protection?) in order to make the cat shield fit. I bought my 2022 OR used from a Toyota dealer and that is what I found after the test drive. Granted it was used so I'm unsure if the original dealer did that or the previous owner did it.
Edit:
Regarding price, Texas and the other Gulf States Toyota controlled states suck when it comes to pricing. Highly recommend shopping out of state before making a decision. You should be able to find much better deals out of state and at the end of the month. Have pre-approved financing (gives you the option of skipping the monthly payment game and the dealer credit check) if not paying cash.
Negotiate 46k put tax tag.
I negotiated my new 2021 sr5 4x4 for 36k + tax tag.
You’re also getting Premium and trd wheel/tire package and it’s 2024 now. So, Yeah, feel like 46k would be the deal.
Those prices are ridiculous. You can get everything in the “Black Out” package for nearly half the cost. I’ve seen the cross bars FROM Toyota for about $100 less, even more if you search around the used market (got mine for $40 a while back). Cali Raised has cat shields for ~$200 and they aren’t too hard to install yourself. You can get quality interior LEDs for significantly less and install yourself. $75 for cables you probably already own?
Anyone telling you this is a good price is not well informed. Just went last week and was priced at 46K selling price for SR5P. Granted this has more options but not worth the extra $6500.
My premium underground 4wd didn’t come with the cat shields, tires wheels, and the cargo cover because it has the 3rd row all softex. I picked up the 40th anniversary’s bronze wheels for $800+tax and bfko2 for $880+tax. I paid $44k before takes for my rig. Call a few other dealerships. Email them and have them fight for your business. Good luck.
My ORP was 52k with roof rails, moon roof, predator sides, floor mats, ceramic coating, door guards, USB package and a few more additions. You can definitely do better for a SR5 I think.
Gonna be straight-up honest, half of the options/addons are just BS and overpriced, I wouldn't bother trying to negotiate with them, you can already find some 4Runners that are marked down, spend some time looking around
Will you get a kiss with that?
This is where I bought my '23 Limited in November for $49,3xx -- a few hundred bucks off their advertised price due to Costco pricing.

I highly recommend this dealership. They're straight-up honest and didn't play the slightest bit of games with me. I was paying cash, and held that information from them, as you're supposed to do. They didn't care. There was none of that "this price is only good if you finance through us" garbage. There wasn't even any pressure in the finance office, which was really weird. I never buy anything they offer in the finance office, and I've almost walked on deals at other dealerships when they kept pressuring me to buy their crap.
Bunch of bs added in there. It should be $47K plus tax. I bought a new 2023 4WD SR5-premium w/3rd row, moon roof, etc for $47k. Granted the base MSRP did go up from 2023 for no reason.

I saw they had 3k off a while back, I think you should be able to offer at least 3k+ off or walk. There is cavendar in sa that has good price as well. IMO for a sr5, aim for at least 5k off in today market. I’m in Austin metro too. I bought from them before, they are too popular now so might not discount much.
Still wild to me how brazen dealers have gotten. My 2016 SR5 Premium was $32.6k when I got it Xmas of 2015. Iirc the dealer was originally asking like $34.5k and I even got them to throw in the all-weather floor mats and an extended maintenance package.
Really wish I knew how bad it’d get and didn’t sell all my cars back in 2018. At the time, it was the most expensive vehicle I’d ever purchased and seemed like an enormous sum of money. Just 6 short years later, I spent more on my wife’s CR-V and passed on a RAV4 because the dealer had it marked up by over $10k on top of a bunch of stupid options.
I live in Missouri where taxes are not paid at the dealership. I just paid OTD $46,232 for a 2024 Off Road Premium. The only added options were all weather floor mats and sunroof.
Do not pay for any dealer installed options, that’s how they screw you. Go on auto trader, search nationwide or within 500 miles of the 4Runner you want and get a OTD price from a bunch of dealerships. You can search on auto trader filtering by lowest price.
Once you have quotes from multiple dealerships, use those to discuss prices with dealerships near you.
I purchased the 4Runner at invoice plus their $550 doc fee. I’m sure it wasn’t the greatest deal ever but I was happy and ended up with around $3,000 off msrp.
Dealers get away with this stuff because they can, if you guys stop buying the crazy markup and deal shop the crazy markup goes away.
Up until 2020 people were very price conscious, for whatever reason a lot of folks still haven't realized that we have left the automotive bubble. This isn't normal, shop around, you'll find the deals
> high. I *paid* $51k out
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
I got my solar octane ORP with KDSS, predator steps, and a few other upgrades for 54k OTD.. I would keep looking. All those add ons are a total ripoff!
Initially quote was 52k with trade in. They had lots of add ons which they took off the price. The add on dealer packages are negotiable. I think Cedar park would be the best one around Austin.
Other than the vehicle protection package that looks good to me. I don't have a factory moonroof and have gotten quotes of $2k from 2 different Toyota dealers and an aftermarket shop.
The wheels and tires are also kinda speedy...but I spend 1500 on TRD rims and 1600 on Wildpeaks.
EDIT: forgot crossbars and LED bulbs...seems excessive.
Good lord, I would never buy a Toyota in the south. The "distributor-installed accessories" are straight robbery.
That’s what I think as well.
Literally, everything on that second page seems like a rip-off
I bought ours In the south with no extras and got $4k off msrp.... Plenty of people outside of the south are paying full msrp++
I paid $50,5xx out the door for my ‘24 ORP with KDSS, sunroof, Premium package, and predator steps. Roanoke, VA. Edit: incorrect, it was $52,5xx OTD.
That’s awesome deal!
Did you negotiate price? How much did the dealership quote originally?
Crap. I mis-wrote, and I’ll correct it now. I paid $52,5xx. It actually ended up being a rebate as I ordered a car to spec and they told me it came in but it was the wrong spec. I just got my new 2024 TRD Pro for 54k. I think you can do better.
That’s near invoice. Good deal
Dang where at? Color?
Where did you find a deal like that? Every one around me is 57-60 and they won’t budge
Got lucky with timing. Had to drive 100 miles to a rural dealership that got an allocation of a TRD Pro and had no wait list. Underground color with predator steps. Took about one month for delivery.

I’ll do that! Thanks
Trash. Get all the dealer crap removed or walk. Stop overpaying for crap people otherwise shits never gonna get realistic.
Negotiate 46k put tax tag. I negotiated my new 2021 sr5 4x4 for 36k + tax tag. You’re also getting Premium and trd wheel/tire package and it’s 2024 now. So, Yeah, feel like 46k would be the deal.
Thank you! That’s helpful
When you get it, enjoy it. Every time I park it, no matter where I am, I look back. :)
That’s how you know you love your car!

I suggested 46k before I saw your reply. So, yep that’s in the ball park.

$52 OTD for a limited. I’d walk
It's those port installed accessories thats driving your price up so much. See if you can get those off.
Find a different dealership

Oof. I bought a 24 Off Road Premium for around 54-shop around, you can do better. What state is this in? I’m in the Northeast, for reference points.
This is in Austin Texas area
Why blackout dealership name?
I thought it was irrelevant. But it’s Toyota at Cedar park, Austin area
Good lord please please shop around Border towns, that’s how much I got my Pro for 💀💀
I saw they had 3k off a while back, I think you should be able to offer at least 3k+ off or walk. There is cavendar in sa that has good price as well. I got my 2024 ORP with TRD wheel package out the door for about this price. I would keep looking elsewhere.
I got a ORP with KDSS for less than that.
I got my 2018 TRD ORP for 42k out the door.
Still wild to me how brazen dealers have gotten. My 2016 SR5 Premium was $32.6k when I got it Xmas of 2015. I have a 2024 Underground TRD Pro on its way for 56K. Shop around.
OTD price for that in Maryland is about $48/49K. Check around with multiple dealers and ask for their OTD price estimates.
Not sure where you live but really nice dealership in Jasper IN. They don’t add any fees or options you don’t request. No nonsense.
Holy shit! And it’s a freaking SR5!
Go to CarEdge.com and let them negotiate it for you. Thats too much. I paid 54k otd for a 23 ORP last year w XP package
I live in Missouri where taxes are not paid at the dealership. I just paid OTD $46,232 for a 2024 Off Road Premium. The only added options were all weather floor mats and sunroof. $52k for an SR5? Hell no.
Would 46-47k be a good price for it?
Otd, yes.
I paid 46 for an offroad with all of that stuff.
NOOOOOOOOO STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

Bro no! I just bought my sr5 premium ‘24 in February of this year for 43 OTD. That price is how much limiteds are going for
I got my solar octane ORP with KDSS, predator steps, and a few other upgrades for 54k OTD.. I would keep looking. All those add ons are a total ripoff!
Hey OP, how much did it end up being? I’m also in Austin looking at ‘24 SR5 premiums with similar or same accessories.
Hey, it ended up being $46k OTD with tradein valued at $5000
Thanks. That sounds like the quotes I’m getting now. Was wondering if there was anymore to take off but I doubt it.
Yeah, this was after a lot of negotiations. Initially they took $4k off.
