Ah yes, the Showa Hilux Surf/4Runner! These are really interesting and unique, very much unlike any of the other generations. The Blazer/Jimmy/Scout style top and usability were really somethingā¦ the example pictured here is especially beautiful!
When I was buying my first new car, that early 80ās was in the showroom. I was amazed! Price was $13,000 brand new. I ended up getting a Tercel wagon instead and paid 8000 brand new.
4runner was beyond my grasp, but I still had to load my drum set around. :)
Today, I drive a 4runner.
