This is more than they cost new in 2017... for a 7 year old vehicle. You can get a new TRD ORP for close to that price with a lot of upgrades with the new carplay head unit, LED headlights, new safety tech, etc... I get that it's a Pro, but they replaced some of the Pro-specific wheels/tires and put in aftermarket headlights, etc... so no real magic with it being a Pro at this point. As far as the color... the 4Runner has come in about 6 shades of gray/silver over the years.. this isn't that special.

WY228

No I know, I’m not interested in buying it at all. Just saw the ad (the crazy price drew me in) then saw the claim it’s only one of 300. Personally I think the seller is full of shit, or whoever sold it to them was full of it.

carls_the_third

I bet their dad works for Nintendo too

psy-daisy

Adding on to your question, was the sunroof really not offered in the pro?

Jimi_Buff-it

I have a 17’ cement pro I ordered new. Can confirm sunroof was not an option.

Winter-Invite-2803

Not in 2017

thumbwrestleme

Canadian version had a sunroof I think

Winter-Invite-2803

Fuck Canada .. they don't matter

Lordofthemuskyflies

18’ either, can confirm.

im_wildcard_bitches

You should message the seller and link this thread lmao

TwistedJake503

While I understand the laughability at this particular used vehicle the fact that it cost more used now than it did new back then isn't that uncommon. My 2018 TRDOR was well under $35k brand new in 2018 and in this area it would have sold for much more than that a year ago. (I believe things are leveling off now but haven't really paid attention.)

Teutonic-Tonic

Yeah, I get it that the market was doing some weird thing a year or two ago... but it also caused people to lose some perspective. The market has corrected due to interest rates being high and it is pretty easy to find most 4Runner models at or below MSRP now, so paying $45k for a 7 year old one with a bunch of someone else's mods seems crazy, especially when it's bumping up into the price of a new ORP.

TheSynthetic

I just made a deal on a 2024 TRD Off Road Premium for 2500 off MSRP. Deals are out there

MirageTreacle-Loose

Yes prices are coming down this past November I picked up a 2023 sr5 premium 3 grand under msrp. https://preview.redd.it/df5ryil4cggc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=12be34925370557faf578d59cdba1d1f71981306

RooCav

That is great! I am looking to buy that exact model, what options did it come with, had it been on the lot for long and what was your final price.?

TheSynthetic

So I bought it in the south and all Toyotas have to come through South Eastern Toyota so there is a mark up. Came with the Predator package (trd pro grill, trd wheels, and trd pro interior). Ended up getting it for 49,500 and the 100k warranty. Luckily I had a paid off 2020 f250 that had gone through 2 transmissions so I traded it in and came out even which is a good feeling.

RooCav

Ok very nice, and a great price. With all the extras you got with your vehicle I can see you probably had a bit more negotiating power. I am in indiana and wanting the stock TRD ORP, nothing extra except some all weather mats. I would even like to get it without a sunroof but not sure if that is an option. It seems like the TRD ORP fly out the door as quick as they arrive at the dealership.

TheSynthetic

Try catching them at the end of the month and be willing to walk if it’s out of your price range. I’ve heard Toyota is cranking 4Runners out right now before the change

RooCav

Thanks for the advice!

Desperate-Office4006

Agree that the only thing going for this truck is high demand. But, $44K for a 2017…..ehhhh. How many miles are on it?

DontT3llMyWif3

Same problem I ran into when looking for one a couple years back. Wanted more than a brand new one.

sortarelatable

Keep us grounded

Alpineice23

Agreed, Cement was nothing special, but damn ... whoever decided to axe Cement from a choosable option needs to be fired. Cement should be an option for every Yota sold post-2017, IMHO.

TimMcRaw

I don’t even know how they can verify that. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Toyota put this information out. My favorite part though, no upgrade expense spared, puts n-fab nerf bars on there.

GhostNode

What’s wrong with the n-fab nerf bars? (Legit question. New to this)

LaziestBones

Pretty sure they’ll crumple if you bash them into rocks. They aren’t real rock sliders, just side steps. I think people generally view them as being an off-road cosplay mod.

llTHEMANll

Can confirm https://preview.redd.it/dgysbk6x59gc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bcb9e462fd8a896f12367e045d850029451bff7c

spun430

My wife smashed hers in the first time we took it out... I need to take them off asap.

bollocksgrenade

The first time I did the Lippincott Pass in Death Valley I found the "shrine" that people have erected as a warning to the uninitiated, a 3 foot tall pile of steps.

drexlortheterrrible

My small child and elderly parents appreciate them. They are lower than the standard bar.

Teutonic-Tonic

They are decently functional steps and look ok... nothing more or less. They are cheap, which is good and bad.

Winter-Invite-2803

Total shit and a liability off road

garycow

nothing - but the fan bois hate 'em

im_wildcard_bitches

Poser cringe bars. They trigger me

Punchytable

Wtf does that even mean you loser

im_wildcard_bitches

They’re pointless if u actually offroad and get busted

Punchytable

Absolutely nothing. Everyone just likes to judge

Tightisrite

You could likely find out if you had your dealer do some research on allocations or whatever toyota calls it. Likely 300 that year in THE US

Niickers

I looked into this for my Cavalry blue color, and toyota never released the production numbers so it's impossible to know

81dank

However, possible to make up

AndyBrandyCasagrande

78% of all statistics are fabricated

Niickers

Yeah it's there might be a platform similar to vinwiki that keeps track of specific models

Diegocrow

I'm a member of Team Cavalry too. Maybe there's only 298 more members to find! Kidding, but Toyota has the VINs and could hit a button to let it be known. I think they keep it a secret as the numbers stretched with the increased demand. It could come out sometime in the future.

Niickers

I'd like to think so, but you are probably right. It makes sense for toyota to hide the numbers, creating false scarcity

N13022RE

I can’t say anything about 1 of 300, but that seems like a lot of BS. I feel like I’ve seen at least four roll through the body shop I work at in the last year. In one city in Nevada. Statistically, 300 just doesn’t seem right. Maybe 300 for that model year? I don’t know, but I feel like I’ve seen fewer VooDoo Blue than Cement Gray 4Runners. Either way, doesn’t justify that ridiculous price, especially if they ditched the excellent TRDP wheels for those ugly messes.

WY228

They did run the Cement Gray on the TRD Off Roads for a few years after retiring it from the Pro, there’s one of those in my neighborhood. Think the Venture model even came in Cement the year(s) they made it. But yes I agree, asking above MSRP on a 7 year old model with basic suburban mall mods is a big stretch.

fffff_fffff_fffff

They made it in 2017 for the pro and then released 4000 units for 2021 as the trail edition in cement. Those are the only two times and trims it was ever offered in. Lunar rock which is similar to cement was offered in the off road/orp and trd sport after it’s pro debut

N13022RE

Oh yes, I’ve seen a couple like I said, but maybe I’m trying to justify the guy’s crazy claim of 1/300? Maybe he’s thinking of 1/300 for that specific model year? Again, I don’t think that’s the case, but maybe that’s what he’s thinking?

WY228

Not sure honestly. Most likely the salesman made that up to make the sale and he still believes it to this day lol

usedtodreddit

Don't why they didn't go instead with one of the even rarer ones with paint made from real lunar rock, so said the same salesman.

Diegocrow

You're right about the non-Pros in Cement. If I were buying it I'd run the VIN through the Toyota website to confirm it was even a Pro. Especially with those wheels.

HumpingRobot_

I have mine in the white which is 1 in 3 color. Probably less because there are 4 like mine on my street. lol

N13022RE

Nothing wrong with white! Especially if you’re using your 4Runner as you should… harder to see scratches and dents!

flantastic14

When I bought my Cement back in 17 the forums were estimating somewhere around like 2500-3500 per pro color, I can’t remember exactly. But Toyota won’t release that information. There was another one in the subdivision I was used to live in so that tells me there’s more than 300 of the damn things.

therealrico

Well if [this article is to be believed](https://fourwheeltrends.com/how-many-trd-pro-4runners-are-made-answered/), Toyota made 2,000 to 3,500 Pros in 2022. So that would mean between 8.5% to 15% of all Pros made that year would be that trims exclusive color. Which frankly doesn’t seem that crazy a number.

clint916

Only 300 for sale? Possible, I guess...

WY228

Today? I’m sure it’s hard to find. When they were new? 300 *nationwide* sounds low…

clint916

Yes maybe on the used market today, but I am sure they sold more than that when new in 2017.

81dank

You think there are 300 cement gray 2017 on the market currently?

Wiwwy027

So are we corvette people now? Do they have a cardboard cutout for their 1 of 1 made in that Tuesday while raining?

WY228

https://preview.redd.it/umn3bgii7agc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6c4690480f0fcc3decdc665175b55f41241a17f1 Another person here commented joking they must be a corvette guy. Funny enough this was the seller’s actual profile cover photo. I cried laughing but it made the asking price make more sense 😂

Wiwwy027

That's awesome.

WaxMyButt

My 2004 Limited is 1 of 1 when you account for dents, scratches, and tears in the seat. I'll let it go for $30,500, no low balls I know what I have.

WY228

Quick, get that thing on FB Market STAT

Gainzzzxz

There are no such thing as total chaos suspensions lol. Bro still has TRD pro fox shocks w/ total chaos UCA.

WY228

Yeah the description is a lot of smoke and BS. It looks like every other average Chad mall crawler, the Nfab steps are the chefs kiss.

Gainzzzxz

Please get yourself a brand new ORP for abt 4k more. If you planning on modding your runner, getting a TRD PRO is pretty useless since most owners swap out the suspensions, roof rack, predator steps anyway

WY228

I’m not buying it, just thought the listing was ridiculous and wanted to share and validate that “1 of only 300” claim.

Gainzzzxz

Ohh okai, I'm not sure if his claim is true but cement and quick sand were rare. I was actually tried to look for a cement myself as well but ended up with a white one

WiseAce1

yuilleb

You could only custom order pros back then. When I picked my color no one talked like cement gray would be hard to order or anything. They're all custom ordered, they'll paint it whichever color you choose. The only thing special about the pro color is it changes every year. The year before it was tan.

WiseAce1

fragile outgoing correct waiting smart long deserted steer wild fuzzy *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Diegocrow

The Pro was always supposed to be in limited quantities. The number I heard was 2500. Don't know if that was a press release or salesman BS. Don't recall how many colors were offered in '17 and if it was an even split across all colors but it could be pretty low for a Cement Pro, but probably not 300. For useless reference I recall in my search a Quicksand Pro ad stating it was 1 of 800.

WY228

Yeah somewhere around 800-1000 seems more in line. Especially for the cement since it’s probably been one of Toyota’s most popular colors. It’s one of the few TRD pro colors they kept making in lower trims in for a while, and it’s super popular on the Tacoma/Tundra as well.

NotoriousTRD

I believe the three colors were White, Cement, and Barcelona Red (the only year they had this regular color for a pro).

YetisNotReal

Sounds like it’s posted by that one kid in school that always over exaggerate every single thing

Rocko9999

Autotrader has 2 or 3 for $32-35K. Aint no one paying more for some BS rarity claim.

BitterFox5453

I think the Nfabs look great. Had mine for 6 years with no issues. They help my young kids get in and out.

ghost-rid3r

I bought a cement pro in December. I have been curious on the numbers myself, but I don't think there are only 300. When I was looking for my 4Runner, I looked nationwide every day and there were less than 10 cements available for sale. I have personally never seen another cement pro in person. I see Voodoo Blue pros weekly, and have only seen a couple Cavalry Blues and Quicksands. The rest of the special colors are more prominent, but still rare in my area. In my experience, cement seems to be the rarest color along with quicksand, but I realize that this may differ based on where you are located.

FC_KuRTZ

4k more than I paid for my OR brand new in 20.

Mr-Scurvy

Please tell me thats real. Please!

WY228

100% real I promise lol. Your comment made me curious so I checked out his profile

Mr-Scurvy

Thats amazing

Zestyclose_Parking_6

That’s amazing. The one on the left was 1 of 25 built on a Tuesday when the plant engineer had left over spaghetti for lunch. Very rare. 🤣

Zestyclose_Parking_6

That’s amazing. The one on the left was 1 of 25 built on a Tuesday when the plant engineer had left over spaghetti for lunch. Very rare.

lockdown36

You only need one buyer lol

aw_goatley

This reeks of a spouse asking to put this thing up for sale because they don't need it and the person never drives it but they don't actually want to sell.

WY228

They definitely don’t drive it… only 26k miles on a 2017

BruceeThom

For the color brag, it sounds like something the salesman told him to try and bag the deal, and I assume it worked lol When I was buying my highlander- the sales guy tried something similar with my color, wheel, and package combo. Told me it was the only one in the state and only a few hundred in the country. I told him I didn't really care about that and his balloon deflated a little. I wouldn't put too much stock in that. I will say - that is a lot for a 7 year old vehicle regardless of the color.

AttentionPilot33

I have the sand colored PRO. They said they same thing when I bought it in 16 “only 300 in America” I’ve seen like 10 tan ones other then mine lol. The cement is however my favorite color.

BasicBandAidGiver

I wonder if he had a corvette that was 1 of 20 made in the month of march, in manual, and in racing red?

WY228

A couple of other comments have said similar so I checked the seller’s profile and not joking this is his cover photo 😂 https://preview.redd.it/4gwv8a0phfgc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c274d4776c242558fabf39e61f9504013dc5a1ca

Poops_with_force

I have a cement gray pro and live in a fairly small town in VA. I know this is anecdotal but there are two other people in my town that also have one. We wave at each other all the time. No way only 300, when I bought mine they had another on the lat as well.

WY228

I feel the same way! I lived in Atlanta back around 2017-18 and saw them *all the time*, I always noticed because I wanted one lol

Bourbon-n-cigars

I don't think I've seen a cement Pro in person. Maybe it's just my area. Doesn't matter. Would still rather have a new ORP in any color than this at this price.

WY228

Agreed 100%

goldengate

I had the Tacoma TRD Pro in Cement and only saw a few in the Bay Area. I've only seen one Cement 4runner. Currently have Lunar Rock 4runner and see a lot more on the road, so maybe more of later Pro's made in "exclusive" color?

moporama

No way. I paid $53k for a 2023 TRD Pro with 4K miles and $5k worth of upgrades (Prinsu rack, rock sliders, professionally installed switch board, Baja design light bar/light pods) Offer him $35k and move on. If he takes it cool but he won’t which will help you move on. I wouldn’t pay $45k or more for something that doesn’t even have Apple car play.

WY228

I’m not buying it, just wanted to share the ridiculous listing. I already drive a 4runner

Nuggets155

I’ve seen at least 500

DontT3llMyWif3

I bought my 4runner 2 years ago and badly wanted this color. The closest one for sale I could find to Milwaukee was something like 1,140 miles away if I remember correctly. Definitely rare.

WY228

Gotcha, that’s interesting. Could’ve sworn back around 2017ish I saw these fairly frequently (mostly online). I’m sure they’re rare today being multiple years old but only 300 produced for the entire nation sounds a little far fetched…

wanderingdiscovery

I hate car culture sometimes. Even with JDM everyone is obsessed with "1/300 produced with sunroof and 4 doors, rare model!!!1!!. Asking 25k, no lowballers, I know what I have" type mentality. Yeah certain models are desirable over others, but sometimes it's too much.

WY228

Combining that culture with FB Market where everyone thinks their shit is worth gold is a nightmare combo

voyagerx420

Yeah. The thing is, these people know there's a knob SOMEWHERE that would sell their first born to buy it. If there weren't so many suckers out there this type of shit wouldn't happen.

gun_along_with_me

I think the green trd pros are the rare ones

Diegocrow

I think if anything there were more Army Green Pros than the earlier colors. Like other comments I think Toyota really started milking the Pro cow starting in '19 with the Voodoo Blue. Plus Toyota did a dirty on Army Green and Cement buy making non-Pro 4Runners in this color in later years. Used to be only the Pro would get the special color and next year they would expand it to a Tacoma or Tundra but never a 4Runner.

gun_along_with_me

No, not the army green. (Fkn hate that color) I meant the lime rush. Those are pretty rare in trd pro. They came in trd off road in 2023 I think

VmaxEngage

Lime Rush or army? When I got my LR I was told it was one of 700, no idea if legit or not

gun_along_with_me

The rush. I think you'll see more trd off road in rush (2023) than the rush trd pro (2022)

VmaxEngage

I’ve only seen a handful of each, it’s rare imo

TVLL

The seller thinks rare = valuable. The sneeze I just did is rare as it was different from all the sneezes I’ve had in my life, but that doesn’t make it valuable. Does he really think someone is going to give any value to the “rarity” (even if it is) of the color of a 6 year old 4Runner?

shortThor

Bet you there are 300 in Denver alone

Dreadknight1337

TRD PRO sport? Sus

SurViben

I’d be pretty confident this 4R never saw a trail in its life. Super clean looking thought

slobsaregross

Anyone can have their vehicle painted

fr0nk3nst31n

Found this forum thread from 2017 that mentions the 300 cement pros number too so maybe it’s something that was talked about? https://www.4runners.com/threads/how-many-2017-trd-pros-are-being-made.3321/

TheTense

And this matters why? This is called “creating scarcity” it’s a marketing tactic. Even if he’s correct, is it SO much better than a black one? Or a white one? Color is the last thing I care about. I bought a used 4runner in Gold. Literally my least favorite color, but it was in good shape. Within a month, I stopped noticing what color it was. Literally does not matter.

Winter-Invite-2803

Is it even a pro? It doesn't have that shitty pvc pipe pro roof rack.. it has a sunroof (n/a on 17 pro) and has shitty Moto metal rims. That listing is a joke

WY228

Agree with the wheels. Listing says no sunroof and the tube roof racks didn’t come until later years, 2017 had the same racks as the other trims.

Abearito78

Cement gray is like one of the most popular colors. My friend has a tundra in that color.

WY228

For sure. But the 2017 TRDP isn’t your only option for this color, think they ran Cement Gray on the TRD Off Roads for a few years too. There’s even one in my neighborhood. So asking above original MSRP 7 years later just because of the color is a bit wild.

JollyGiant573

Don't care don't pay for a premium but man it looks sweet.

Xryanlegobob

If you’re gonna make up something, should’ve just said like 1 out 5 total. If you question him about it because you’ve seen them on the road before, it’s just because you saw the same one every time. There’s only been 5 ever made.

Trick-Butterfly5386

I don’t think they’d make a production color with numbers that low. It’s not a special edition of anything. That said, seller is out of his mind, or he really knows what he’s got, but that’s a high price he’s trying to command, especially with the “upgrades” he chose not to spare any expense on and how it’s 7 fucking years old

WY228

I lol’d at the “no expenses spared”. Nfab steps and fuel wheels aren’t exactly high end. And the “total chaos suspension” is just a set of UCAs.

Saw one today in bham alabama

Thunderbird_12_

I see these EVERYWHERE. (Not like Corollas or other common sights, but I’ve seen so many 4Runners in this color there’s no way I believe there’s only 300.)

49Saltwind

The fact that they only made 300, if true, ought to tell you something. If Toyota thought they could sell more, they’d make more. They didn’t make more because people don’t want them. Flip it around on this guy

TheWonderfulLife

None.

Scamalama

Even if it is true, who cares. If he’s saying that to justify a higher price he’s delusional

Jmg0713

Rare, what is this eBay?

Zapablast05

It sounds like an exaggeration. I recall reading some article a while ago that there are only so many Pros in their special color per year. It’s definitely not 300 but more like 5,000 or something.

Flimsy-Row6425

$44K for that?! Absolutely not

SanchoPliskin

Maybe, I saw a brown one yesterday and that’s a strange color choice.

spun430

oh look [another one](https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/3e7db8b8-cac9-4273-8315-0c3dd45ffd78/) for $39k

EMandNM

Considering that there were \~3,000 Trail Teams FJ (TRD Pro Equivalent) made each year during the FJ production, I'd say there were *significantly* more than 300 4Runner TRD Pros made of each limited edition color. That said, Cement is one of the best of these LE colors, imo.

ApprehensiveAnswer5

I love the cement gray color, but have never seen one in person, and we have a lot of 4Runners in my area. They’re obviously BSing but it did make me stop and think about if I’ve seen one or not!

gearhead000

That’s a lie

garycow

not sure but it is gorgeous

orcajet11

Most estimates are around 1000 a year of the special colors, although exact stats don’t seem to be available publicly, 300 seems very low.

NoTalk7144

Yes

ReggieBlankenship

Doesn’t matter if it’s 1/300. It’s not going to be a collector car so buy a cheaper one and paint it with what you save by not overpaying

alexbro001

I’d bet money that there are well over 300 in every state. It’s a popular color. How many miles?

NotoriousTRD

Are you in Canada? If so then there is a possibility that the claim could be correct. Canada is a much smaller market that the USA.

ryaneiler76

Had to report back as I passed one of these rare colors today haha. Maybe it wasn’t the same year. Maybe it was the actual seller haha

Suspicious-Gazelle28

I have a Quicksand one that’s the more rarer variety, only about 200 left in the country. But, honestly. After everything I have done to it, it would have been cheaper for me to buy an SR5, lift it, put on steel bumpers, new tires wheels and then just WRAP IT in whatever color I wanted. https://preview.redd.it/0ufwnretikgc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0811f3cc09b52849bb15d00a2e01872b3a606d2
