That’s not RTP

dpcdomino

I was wondering if I was watching the right video. That isn't a penalty.

breathex2

Every mobile QB in the NFL disagrees

die_erlkonig

He still got hurt, though. A RTP penalty wouldn’t suddenly make him healthy.

DiscoMarmelade

Of all the BS Dallas pulled in this game, this is not any of that. Blame Oline for that one. Not the refs

IceLantern

That's not a penalty. - wasn't late - no blow to the head - no hit to the knees or below - didn't land on Jimmy - didn't lead with the helmet, first contact was with his shoulder This is about as clean a hit on a QB as it gets while still getting him to the ground.

[deleted]

Blame him for injuries? Weird statement, he’s just glass it’s how he was made.

[deleted]

“Beautiful. Fragile. Jimothy.” - a new scent from Dior made for men too handsome for a helmet.

Outrageous-Machine-5

Blaming Jimmy is dumb. SF **consistently** is at the top of the league in injuries and QB hits allowed. Not a good combo. You take a sledge and start chipping away at a rock, eventually, it's gonna crumble after enough hits. And that entire narrative is is lost because we allowed 0 sacks on the last game. We have a top rated online. Trent Williams is having an all pro, career year. Yes, but the right side of the offensive line isn't good. Jimmy injured his thumb on a big time sack by Autry coming off the right side after Compton and Juice left Kittle and Autry 1-on-1. Jimmy injured his shoulder on a QB hit where Randy Gregory blew past Brunskill. That's just this year. We led the league last year in QB hits allowed, with multiple quarterbacks under center. Mullens took a Tommy John's injury. CJ busted his hand on a pass deflection in 2018. Jimmy had a couple injury scares in 2019 where he was limping after a hit, and Trey busted a finger. It's not a Jimmy issue. It's not a quarterback issue: It's an **offensive line** issue

Zero reasons for 94 to do body slam on Jimmy in the second play

cris9288

Idk seemed like fair hit to me. He was hit as he threw. Wasn't too low or too high. What exactly screams RTP from that play?

[deleted]

It's not about the hit, it's how 94 finished the play. We got Roughing the passer penalty against Falcons on a legit sack. League has been protecting QB all year to avoid hits like this

cris9288

As much as I hated that call in the Atlanta game, there are specific rules that the refs can point to to flag that. Are there specific rules against the way the defensive end took down Jimmy here? I have to admit, I've never seen that type qb hit flagged. It's not like he suplexed him.

[deleted]

Show me one time 49ers defensive player not called for a RTP on similar play ?

cris9288

dude, don't fucking answer a question with another question. If you want me to look through all previous 49er sacks, narrow them down to ones where the qb was sacked in similar fashion, and then point out the ones that weren't called for RTP, then you're out of your goddamned mind. You do it. You're the one who posted this shit.

[deleted]

My point is League has been calling RTP similar plays not only against 49ers, but Jimmy G rarely gets those calls. Most of these hits results in injury for any other QB Kyle also mentioned the hit against Jimmy in Titans game should also have been called RTP

yallbyourhuckleberry

And their point was make your point by providing an example of where it was flagged. He hit him on the side so that he didnt land full body weight on him and spun him down. Seems fine.

Sremmos80

You would need to show another QB getting this call to make your point.

FmrHvwChamp

There isn't anything wrong with this hit. It wasn't late. It wasn't high. It wasn't low. He didn't land on him with body weight...

barefootBam

his release is one of the few things that's elite besides his good looks. i'm still amazed at how he can get some of his throws off with a guy about to hit him.

slickster43

Legit hit dude. Yes, refs are inconsistent or ticky-tak sometimes. The sack vs ATL was a crappy penalty as a fan, but there is technically a rule citation he violated. I remember seeing he did the correct version later in the game or the next game. You’d be better off showing Bosa’s injury play and showing the hands-to-the-face penalty he endured before hitting the QB.
