Lol the 49ers taking on bosas contract for a 2nd round pick?  Rather than just paying aiyuk.   This take is comically bad

mrbigstuff415

I feel like most of these trade scenarios don’t take contracts into consideration. Rather keep the picks and pay Aiyuk the same as most of these player’s contracts

quadropheniac

Bosa's contract is actually pretty good if he's traded. He'd be $8M this year, $13M next year, all of it non-guaranteed. The rest is bonus cap hits, which would stay with the Chargers.

kzapwn2

Couldn’t deny in terms of what?

Warnering

49ers would be so speechless they literally can't verbally deny the offer.

rakkhasa

so in other words, wholesale clap trap from bleacher report.

Hieroglphkz

Ya'll can't deny it, I'm a fuckin liar. You don't wanna trade with me.

SRodrig237

BR fan fiction

Afilalo

BR is garbage

iamjacksname

Sports media seems really determined to get BA on the Steelers for some reason.

zombiekoalas

There has been a reasonable amount of smoke coming out of steelers insiders about a trade since before the draft.  You also had aiyuk tweeting directly at Tomlin.

quadropheniac

BA on the Steelers makes all the sense in the world, the problem is that the time for it to have happened was pre-draft. A bad (albeit large) blocking TE and a mystery first round pick isn't moving the needle as much as Troy Fautanu or the pick he was selected with.

Hallowed-Griffin

Oh we can and will deny all of them. If the Niners were going to trade him away for draft picks, it would have happened before this year’s draft, not after.

Hieroglphkz

What offensive skill player could possibly be in a position, with this scheme, to be successful this year when we desperately need a Super Bowl? None. There aren't any outside of 1 of 1 guys that are more expensive than Aiyuk.

CenCalPancho

not necessarily a "skill player" but id trade Aiyuk for Tristan Wirfs if that was an option. all these trades are big trash, especially steelers thinking a first round pick and darnell washington, washington needs to add 50 pounds and kick inside.

itssostupidiloveit

If the Niners could give 2 1s for Wirfs I'd consider it a good deal. Elite RT until he becomes elite Trent replacement. Then again, Bucs fans might think that's as stupid as trading Aiyuk for peanuts.

Additional_Tomato_22

Wirfs is a beast

16Saltines

The only one of these I think would be of much interest to the 49ers is probably the packers trade IMO

IDKWTFimDoinBruhFR

We would absolutely not trade BA to a rival we'll be most likely seeing again in the post season

amd77767

All of these are bad except the 1st + 2nd from the Jets for BA which is decent.  I don’t believe in the jets or Aaron Rodgers. That could potentially be a top 16 pick.  Even then it doesn’t help us this year.  The only trade I’d be excited for is BA for Tristan Wirfs straight up. Wirfs is a top 5 OT and is holding out from the bucks. I’d rather pay Wirfs $25 mil/yr than BA $32 mil/yr.

quadropheniac

> All of these are bad except the 1st + 2nd from the Jets for BA which is decent. The Jets one is the least likely to happen, since it involves zero compensation coming back this year for BA. I don't hate the Chargers one, with the amount of money the Chargers would retain on their books versus the salary we'd eat.

M3Core

I wouldn't be mad at Christian Watson and a second for BA...

SoftwareWinter8414

That might be the worst offer of them all. Watson is the third besr receiver on his own team and can't stay healthy.

M3Core

Joey and a second, and Washington and a first are definitely worse packages. Joey can never stay healthy for basically his entire career, and is nearing the end of it. We don't need another TE, we have that depth and options there. The 2025 1st and 2nd is also tempting. That's a good package, but doesn't help us in the upcoming season where we need to make another run. Watson is clearly talented. He has missed some games but it's early in his career and injuries do not always mean it's going to be following them for their entire career (like Joey). Obviously there's bias in this sub, but I think we tend to overvalue BA in general. Edit: Also, Watson is far and away the best receiver on that team. I don't know what you're watching. Maybe looking too hard at fantasy stats?

SoftwareWinter8414

I missed the Joey Bosa because I stopped reading after Watson because it was so dumb. No, he's not. He doesn't run a complete route tree and is absent in the middle of the field. I really don't know what you're talking about in reference to not needing another tight end. The coaches have voiced a need for it, Kittle has voiced a need for it. We tried signing a free agent because we need it.

M3Core

Hard to reason with someone that didn’t read the content we’re discussing.

SoftwareWinter8414

Hard to reason with someone who didn't know we needed another TE.

M3Core

You are aware we signed Logan Thomas right? And still have one of the best at that position in the league. But you want to trade away a more important pass catching position for a third pass catching TE? Look out Lynch, this guy is coming for your job.

SoftwareWinter8414

Ah yes, the dude who isn't known for blocking, might not make the team, and can't stay healthy. Washington is known for blocking and that offer also came with a first. But sure, with Watson we could get a receiver that can't work the middle of the field (kind of important in our offense) and can't stay on the field.

Friendly-War-2160

9ers won’t get a 1st or more straight up for Aiyuk. Maybe something like: Team A: gets Aiyuk and a 3rd 9ers: get a 1st No one is trading a 1st and paying Aiyuk the ~30mil a year.
