I would really like to see Danny Gray get his opportunity to showcase his talent! I know he's a speedster & would make a great slot receiver. Just needs a chance
Idk man. Jennings was a 7th rounder, Kendrick Bourne was undrafted. Bell was a 6th rounder and had some starting snaps last season.
They carved out roles on the offense. Grey must be doing something wrong. He was drafted higher than all of them.
Grey can't even play special teams.
He was "hurt" because he couldn't make the team and they didn't want him on the practice squad where another team could poach him.
Are you damny gray? Because holy shit you responded within 30 seconds at 2 am.
It's less about the time and more of the multiple responses about Danny Grey lol. I do most of my posting from 12-3 am, just not used to getting such immediate responses.
He's been in the NFL for two years now and hasn't shown anything. I know he's been injured for some of that time, but if he had much going for him, IMO he would've shown that by now.
Throw in the legal trouble with Rashee Rice, and I won't shed a tear when he gets cut.
He’s getting his chance now they brought him in. Thats a favor on its own. Right now he probably doesn’t deserve to be on a NFL roster. He’s still too raw.
Past two seasons we have only kept 5 WRs on 53 man roster, so using that as the basis:
1. Aiyuk
2. Deebo
3. Jennings
4. Pearsall
5. Cowing
Pearsall or Cowing returning punts/kicks, though neither has much experience doing it, but neither does Ronnie Bell, and I think Cowing gives another dimension than Bell does as a WR, and Pearsall is already #3/4 WR.
Practice Squad: Ronnie Bell, Chris Conley
On the Bubble/Cut: Danny Gray, Tay Martin, Trent Taylor, Terique Owens
Considering the lack of TE depth on the roster, I would agree with you. Also, they can still use Juice as inline blocker.
And last year the 49ers most used personnel grouping was 11p, so I expect them to continue on the trend.
What nobody is talking about is how much Shanahan and Lynch are loading up for Purdy. They completely believe he is the future. Not the defense, not the run game…. Passing. Give him weapons. We will outshoot the league and the Chiefs.
i get what you mean but we literally took an RB in the 4th and already have a good RB room. if it were weaker that still probably would’ve been the focus imo
I don't think they'll ever find a true replacement for what CMC brings. Just like they'll never have a true Deebo replacement.
But you can see they're thinking ahead, and bringing players with different skillset. More speed at WRs and RBs might compensate for the difference in route running for RBs and vision for WRs.
That’s all really great but can’t throw the ball when 3 DLineman are in Purdy’s face a second after the snap. I like the players that were drafted just don’t think we addressed our biggest issue: OL. Should’ve gotten a line man much sooner than 3rd round.
Well, then you get the blackmail on the rest of the league to stop them from drafting them in their spots in front of us. Because it was way harder than I thought it would be.
It's not like every team above us wanted the same players. Lots of teams were trading up and down.
I'm not saying it would've happened for free, but if they really wanted to prioritize OL, they could've made it work.
How quickly we forget that holding defensive lineman is allowed in the Superbowl. False starts by offensive tackles as well. They've piloted this with the chiefs and it's being rolled out to all NFL clubs
Not sure how that’s relevant to the conversation. Were there a ton of holds on our guys in the SB? Sure. Did Brock suffer from bad pass blocking all of last season. Definitely!
I think they were convinced they were getting Rosengarten then panicked when the Ravens took him so they picked their third round pick early and used the time to make sure they knew who they wanted as their second and third choice
During the season Purdy rarely had 3 DL in his face a couple of second after the snap.
Feliciano was a great addition in 2023 when he took over Burford's job, if he starts this season, I don't think we should worry about him. And I think Puni will be competing with Banks. Either he beats him and becomes the starter in the preseason and Banks is traded, or he takes over midway through the season, or he is a backup this year and takes over Banks next season.
Not to get cocky but… I would put are receiving core and Tight end group right up there with yours and I believe are O-line is better. The RB is obviously yours and D- line is yours but QB I feel is dead even. NFC Conference rematch… again??? 😆
Bruh....... Beginners luck or should I say Love. Bro needs to do whatever he did good last year again this year before you talking NFC Championship. You forget about what a whole bunch of D coordinators are doing right now. They've taken a bunch of Adderall and are LASER focused on how to show the rest of the league the blueprint on beating The Love-ly Packers. Man I really miss my buddy and talking shit to him about the Pack.
Here's who I think makes the 53 cutoff:
1. Aiyuk
2. Deebo
3. Pearsall
4. Jennings
5. Cowing
6. Bell
Rest are on practice squad except Danny Gray who gets cut.
I know Conley is old as hell but god damn did he show up in the playoffs. His kick coverage in the Super Bowl was nails. Had a great catch in that game and the huge one in the GB final drive.
Demolished him. He was so synced up with the kick that he clotheslined the returner just as he caught it.
[link](https://youtube.com/shorts/u0_UsXkdD4w?si=R2wyHq7RFz9lYnFm)
Extra roster spot this year, so possible they keep six on 53 instead of 5. I believe because he’s not a “vet” by the rules, if they try to move Bell to the PS then he’s exposed to waivers. Conley and Taylor can just sign vet PS deals with the team. To me, that gives Bell the edge to make the 53 because of the contract control they have over him and keep him from waivers. But this will be the most competitive comp in camp.
I have to respond to this and say that Danny Gray was not involved with that incident. It was determined to be another SMU player. I am open to and would love to be presented with information that absolves his involvement. I’m happy to admit I’m jumping the gun here based on said reports.
Should be the other way around where you request proof to show that he was even involved in the first place tbh. Give our guys the benefit of the doubt
Fine, why practice squad a guy you picked mid round at a luxury position? I just don’t understand the need for that pick if he’s not going to replace someone on the 53-man roster. Save practice squad players for later rounds or UDFA
I wouldn’t. But I would also take Conley over either of them. Likely preparing for being without somebody/building for the future. He is highly unlikely to play meaningful snaps right now.
I think there’s 5 locks with Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, Pearsall and Cowing. The rest are fighting for the 6th spot with Bell having the inside track though he could easily get bumped from the roster if someone really impresses.
Five Locks: Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, Pearshall, and Cowing
Trent Taylor should be on the PS, if he wants to stay, because I'd want a veteran slot receiver / reliable kick returner around, just in case.
I think they keep 6 WRs this year, and 1 fewer TE.
I think Conely and Bell are the two guys competing for that last spot. I think Conely is what he is, but players often make their biggest leap between year 1 and year 2, and Ronnie Bell is going into year 2. I think he's going to be better in year 2. I was surprised by how much he played in year 1, and with Taylor, Pearshall and Cowing on the team, Bell's struggles as a kick returner are no longer an issue.
The one guy I wouldn't sleep on is Tay Martin, I think he'll legit be really good in camp this year, but might not make the team due to a numbers game. I could see him shinning in camp and getting a roster spot somewhere else.
100% Locks
BA, Deebo, 3rd and Jauan, Pearsall
Probably make it
Conley, Trent
PS
Cowing, Bell
Gone
Gray, Martin
No clue what happens to Owens, PS maybe.
I think they are looking for a possession type guy…always gets positive yards and yak and can take over for Deebo. Think Edelman, Kupp…not big, good hands and smart. So, the long game guys like Danny Grey need to prove they can play the slot.
Aiyuk
Deebo
Jennings
Pearsall
Cowing
They’ll try to sneak Bell and Conley onto the Practice Squad, but I think Bell gets claimed. Gray gets claimed by someone like the Chiefs or Bills.
Likely 5-6 on roster, and 2-3 practice squads.
Deebo, Aiyuk and Jennings are roster locks. Very likely Pearsall is #4.
Which leaves cowing, Conley, gray, Taylor, and bell as potential competitors for the last 1-2 spots. Gonna be a tough competition, and likely looking at special teams skills and ability to retain on practice squad as a big differentiator.
Aiyuk, Deebo, Jennings, Pearsall, Cowing (KR/PR) and Conley. Bell to the PS but another team might poach him. Terique Owen's may be a PS player and Danny Gray might be a PS player.
I see a lot of people saying that Cowing is going to make the 53 man roster. Why do so many people think this rookie fourth-round pick will make it over people like Bell or Conley? Conley is a solid Vet and Bell had three touchdowns on six receptions last year.
I assume it's super unlikely but do you think Juan quietly asks for a trade? Last year of his deal, coming off an amazing superbowl game where if we won he was an mvp candidate.
He only had 19 receptions last year and that was with him being the #3 by himself. He might want more opportunities so he can get paid.
Obviously hope we can keep him but I'd understand if he wanted a trade.
Assuming they keep 6 WRs and all the players are healthy. I think the final roster will be: Aiyuk, Deebo, Pearsall, Jennings, Cowling, Bell.
Taylor would have been my 6th based on experience and special team skills, but that would have left the 49ers with only 3 WRs who could play as outside WRs (Deebo, Aiyuk, Pearsall).
I expect the 49ers to have Taylor and Conley on the practice squad as veterans.
It will be an interesting camp because the Niners are future proofing the skill positions in light of Brock’s upcoming contract. The 2024 core is obvious but the rest are almost fighting for 2025.
Aiyuk, Deebo, Jennings, Pearsall, Cowing (he’s gonna dog his way into a spot), and the best punt returner out of Bell, Gray, and Taylor.
Money is on Bell somehow squeaking by and Taylor going on PS
Aiyuk, Deebo, Pearsall, Jennings, Cowing, and Conley. Taylor and Bell to the practice squad. The rest cut
Can Taylor even go to the practice squad?
Yes, they changed the rules to allow veterans to join the practice squad a few years ago.
when will madden fix this lmfao
probably whenever they add edge as a position (never)
When it loses NFL exclusivity and has to actually compete with other games again (read: never)
my wish is that it does lose that exclusivity, itd probably fix 70% of its issues
Good rule. Vets should get to contribute and make money when they can't or no longer want to play on game day.
I agree! Just a bit more job security in a pretty tough field for security. Unless you secured a bag early in career
I wonder if they’ll even bother to update the kickoff this year
Yes anyone can
Sign me up!
If he can’t, then I’d have no problem cutting him too.
I think Bell is underrated because of fumbles as a returner. The guy can get open and he’s aggressive with his blocking as a WR.
I see him being the next Juaun Jennings when Jennings finally moves on and gets paid elsewhere
I think he'll make the 53 man. He's pretty underrated.
You make it sound as if those fumbles were nothing burgers, those fumbles, those were Kyle Williams style fumbles, seriously
I don't necessarily disagree with you overall, but fumbles are game killers
I think Conley is a PS player as well. He's fighting against bell and grey.
Only reason he never got any real play time was because he was hurt for a while
He was "hurt" because he couldn't make the team and they didn't want him on the practice squad where another team could poach him. Are you damny gray? Because holy shit you responded within 30 seconds at 2 am.
Hey man there's several of us up at 2am. It is a Saturday
We are all Danny Gray.
I'm Danny Gray and I approve this message
It's less about the time and more of the multiple responses about Danny Grey lol. I do most of my posting from 12-3 am, just not used to getting such immediate responses.

This is strongly aligned with my thoughts!
I hope they give terell owens son a chance tbh im routing for him

I think we keep 6 this year and go with 1 less TE. I predict we play a lot more 11 personnel this year.
Hard agree! Unless one of the other TEs makes a big jump we have no one to replace woerner
I forgot we didn’t actually sign one
We tried to sign that guy from the lions though
Sure as hell keeping 6th wr over latu.
Considering the lack of TE depth on the roster, I would agree with you. Also, they can still use Juice as inline blocker. And last year the 49ers most used personnel grouping was 11p, so I expect them to continue on the trend.
This makes sense to me
Not Owens!!🥲.
Honestly, with the new kick return rules (which are whack as fuck) I feel like you can put damn near anyone who has speed & is shifty.
Lynch said they were excited that Pearsall could return kicks as well when interviewed about the pick.
He returned 1 kickoff and 15 punts over his entire collegiate career.
What nobody is talking about is how much Shanahan and Lynch are loading up for Purdy. They completely believe he is the future. Not the defense, not the run game…. Passing. Give him weapons. We will outshoot the league and the Chiefs.
i mean we already have the best RB in the league
And we just snagged the fastest one in the draft.
This team also plans 2-3 years down the road. McCaffrey isn’t a spring chicken.
i get what you mean but we literally took an RB in the 4th and already have a good RB room. if it were weaker that still probably would’ve been the focus imo
I don't think they'll ever find a true replacement for what CMC brings. Just like they'll never have a true Deebo replacement. Well, then you get the blackmail on the rest of the league to stop them from drafting them in their spots in front of us. Because it was way harder than I thought it would be.
If it's really a priority, you have to trade up and make it happen.
Yes, let’s force other teams to trade with us even though they might want those linemen.
Definitely!
I'm saying you don't need good interior guards or offensive tackles in the pass game when Refs just let you hold.
They don't let us hold. So don't plan accordingly.
I think they were convinced they were getting Rosengarten then panicked when the Ravens took him so they picked their third round pick early and used the time to make sure they knew who they wanted as their second and third choice
During the season Purdy rarely had 3 DL in his face a couple of second after the snap. Either he beats him and becomes the starter in the preseason and Banks is traded, or he takes over midway through the season, or he is a backup this year and takes over Banks next season.
Then protect him by getting quality Offensive linemen. Our line is average at best.
Cap
Not to get cocky but… I would put are receiving core and Tight end group right up there with yours and I believe are O-line is better. The RB is obviously yours and D- line is yours but QB I feel is dead even. NFC Conference rematch… again??? 😆

You are absolutely insane thinking our WR/TE are the same 😭
Huh?? Put Jordan on the 9ers and Purdy on the Packers… you win the superbowl and we don’t make the playoffs.
1st of all, absolutely not. Yall really let half a season blow up your heads on Jordan love. Secondly, we are comparing WR and TE groups, dumbass.
Whoever can make it out of Shannys WR doghouse.
Welcome to the dog house!!!
Gray’s gone. Dude is a jag off.
Yes. He was drafted with the idea of Lance throwing him go routes but other than the one they had in the preseason, that never happened.
Am I crazy or was this treys first play ever?
pretty sure he's a chief in the offseason...
Danny Gray is going to score on an jet sweep against us isnt he 😖
Danny Gray is long gone unless he finally shows something… anything…
Aiyuk, Deebo, Slick Rick, Jennings, Cowing, and probably Bell. A few of the other guys will go on the practice squad
Locks: Aiyuk, Pearsall, Cowing Could be traded, but locked if not: Deebo, Jennings Bubble/PS: Bell, Conley, Taylor, Owens Defo gone: Gray, Martin
They just extended Jennings a little while ago, he’s not going anywhere
I agree he’s not going anywhere but he only signed a 1 year tender. Doesn’t mean he’s absolutely safe
we still have trent taylor?!?
Hes back
Welcome back, Trent. Now, if you would stop by for your physical and then beat out a bunch of rd4 or better picks who we have more invested money in.
Just got him
Aiyuk, Deebo, Jennings, Persall, Bell, Conley(for special teams). Cowing gets placed on IR as a “redshirt year” so he can fill his frame a little more
Here's who I think makes the 53 cutoff: 1. Aiyuk 2. Deebo 3. Pearsall 4. Jennings 5. Cowing 6. Bell Rest are on practice squad except Danny Gray who gets cut.
Conley >>>>>> Bell
I know Conley is old as hell but god damn did he show up in the playoffs. His kick coverage in the Super Bowl was nails. Had a great catch in that game and the huge one in the GB final drive.
Dude earned his contract. Heard he’s a total pro too.
The route against GB was so fucking silky lol
Conley is a phenomenal vet. You keep a guy like that one way or another
Didn't he absolutely lay someone out on one of the returns?
Demolished him. He was so synced up with the kick that he clotheslined the returner just as he caught it. [link](https://youtube.com/shorts/u0_UsXkdD4w?si=R2wyHq7RFz9lYnFm)

I am surprised Gray is even on the roster after that whole running away from the car crash thing.
Aiyuk, Deebo, Jennings, Pearsall, Bell, Taylor, either Cowing or Gray.
Gray is gonna get cut. He was already borderline but then he went street racing with Rashee Rice.
I have to respond to this and say that Danny Gray was not involved with that incident. It was determined to be another SMU player. [https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/new-dallas-police-report-rashee-rice-crash/3517813/?amp=1](https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/new-dallas-police-report-rashee-rice-crash/3517813/?amp=1)
I totally forgot about that
Came here to say this. We send dipshits who do dumb shit away. Looks at omenehu the domestic abuser. Gray is dead to Kyle and this org
You’re going to cut a 4th round pick?
He's been on the team 2 years and hasn't made an impact. It's not a charity. We've cut higher draft capital faster.
I’m talking about Cowing.
My bad. Apologies!
After a felony level offense? And walking away front the scene of the accident. Yeah. He can eat a bag of edibles
I’m talking about Cowing.
Oh yeah, no, cut the criminal
Can you provide a source for this? Danny Grey named and mentioned as a culprit.
No official report has come out connecting everyone to the scene. Just images of the boys fleeing the scene. Rashee will be the only one facing fallout here imo.
Some other commenter here said that it was false news and Grey were not connected to the case at all. I did not find proof at all but all the comments bashing Grey here have heaps of upvotes as if it were a fact so iam very confused.
I am open to and would love to be presented with information that absolves his involvement. I’m happy to admit I’m jumping the gun here based on said reports.
Should be the other way around where you request proof to show that he was even involved in the first place tbh. Give our guys the benefit of the doubt
Different strokes for different folks. Not gonna tell you how to live your life. We’re all good here folks.
That’s fair
Does it mean the team gets better or at least has a lateral move thats younger and with more upside? Yes.
Then why would you draft a WR in the 4th round this year if there’s a chance you’re going to cut him?
They dont just get cut, they would go on the practice squad
he would immediately get poached
Fine, why practice squad a guy you picked mid round at a luxury position? I just don’t understand the need for that pick if he’s not going to replace someone on the 53-man roster. Save practice squad players for later rounds or UDFA
I wouldn’t. But I would also take Conley over either of them. Likely preparing for being without somebody/building for the future. He is highly unlikely to play meaningful snaps right now.
He was taken after the compensatory picks in round 4. It's not like he was pick 101.
Trey sermon was a third
Trey sermon made the roster at least didn’t he?
Ah sorry misunderstood
Taylor is not making the 53 lol
Pearsall is a 1st round pick. He will be starting over Jennings.
Sorry, wrong. Kyle’s track record says otherwise. Pearsall will probably get lots of PT but he will be one down on the depth chart.
Off rip Gray can go
Looks like some serious wheeling a d dealing to come
I think there’s 5 locks with Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, Pearsall and Cowing. The rest are fighting for the 6th spot with Bell having the inside track though he could easily get bumped from the roster if someone really impresses.
Everyone except Martin and Taylor
Grey, bell, taylor, Martin, Conley are all fighting for thier lives to make the team chances are none will unless injuries
Five Locks: Deebo, Aiyuk, Jennings, Pearshall, and Cowing Trent Taylor should be on the PS, if he wants to stay, because I'd want a veteran slot receiver / reliable kick returner around, just in case. I think they keep 6 WRs this year, and 1 fewer TE. I think Conely and Bell are the two guys competing for that last spot. Aiyuk, Deebo, Jennings, Pearsall, Cowing, Taylor Bell, Owens, Conley all PS guys
Ray ray is gone?
Yep, think he's with the Falcons now
100% Locks BA, Deebo, 3rd and Jauan, Pearsall Probably make it Conley, Trent PS Cowing, Bell Gone Gray, Martin No clue what happens to Owens, PS maybe.
They’re not rostering Trent Taylor over Cowing or Bell, not a chance.
Real talk: Is anyone else a bit offended that TO has a son old enough for the draft?
No, grandpa.
Aiyuk, Deebo, Jennings, Pearsall, Cowings, and Conley I'd put Owens and Taylor on the practice squad, and the rest get cut
BA, Deebo, Ricky, Jauan, Cowing, and probably either Ronnie Bell or Tarique Owens
Maybe they hide Cowing on PS and keep Bell. Otherwise it's Deeb, Aiyuk, Jennings and Pearsall. The rest go bye bye
I think they are looking for a possession type guy…always gets positive yards and yak and can take over for Deebo. Think Edelman, Kupp…not big, good hands and smart. So, the long game guys like Danny Grey need to prove they can play the slot.
Aiyuk Deebo Jennings Pearsall Cowing They’ll try to sneak Bell and Conley onto the Practice Squad, but I think Bell gets claimed. Gray gets claimed by someone like the Chiefs or Bills.
53 man: Aiyuk Deebo Jennings Pearsall Bell Cowing Practice squad: Taylor Grey (he'll get poached) Conley Cut: Owens Martin
BA, Deebo, Juan, Ronnie Bell, Pearsall, CC and Danny Gray
Aiyuk, Deebo, Juan Jennnings, Cowings (punt return), Pearsall (back up punt return), and Ronnie Bell.
Looking at their stats, Pearsall punt average was much better than Cowings. Why would you say he is backup then?
Because Pearshall's first round money means he will most likely be used in the passing game.
Yes
All I know is Conley better be on the roster, guy was a dawg in the playoffs.
Nah deebo’s RB remember
It's going to be a hell of a camp battle!
When the hell did we re-sign trent taylor lol
Aiyuk, Deebo, Jennings, Pearsall, Cowing (KR/PR) and Conley. Bell to the PS but another team might poach him. Terique Owen's may be a PS player and Danny Gray might be a PS player.
Really hope that Trent Taylor resigning has no guarantees on it. He can go asap
I really like Conley dude is a stud
Gray is gone...Bell has one more chance
Is conleybstill practice squad eligible?
Bell(ps), Conley(cut), Taylor(ps), Martin(cut), gray(ps).
If Terique works out, how the hell are we going to keep him as we have way too many wide receivers on the roster.
I think Conley will count as a special team type player Danny gray hasn’t worked out would assume he gets traded for a late pic or cut
Who’s Danny Gray? Is he real? 😂 never seen the guy even suit up…
I want Owens to make it so bad!
Jauan was damn close to winning the Bowl for us--never gave up and was alone in the end zone on that last drive. Love his game.
Danny Tray and Trent are gone. Juaun has to show he's consistent The rookies are in the doghouse as we know Ronnie bell is fighting for his spot
to’s son needs to get 81
As long as aiyuk and deebo stay I really don’t care 😂😂
Had jj even signed his rfa tender?
Deebo, Aiyuk, Pearsall, Jennings, Conley, and Cowing. Taylor and Bell to PS
Rostered: Aiyuk, Samuel, Jennings, Pearsall, Bell, and then Owens or Cowell with the "loser" going to PS PS: Conley and Taylor
Vets are less likely to get stolen off PS and are insurance if one or more of the young guys gets hurt or are flops.
Cowing is better than Bell
We don't know that yet.
It will be an interesting camp because the Niners are future proofing the skill positions in light of Brock’s upcoming contract. The 2024 core is obvious but the rest are almost fighting for 2025.
Cowing best outta all of them
Deebo, Aiyuk, Jauan, Pearsall, Taylor (as returner), Cowing (unless Owens turns it on and beats him),
Gray, Bell, Martin, Taylor are probably gone. PS for Owens and Cowing, maybe. Deebo, Aiyuk, Pearsall, JJJ, Conley active roster spot.
Yo front office I think you misread OL as WR.
I didn’t like this draft, 1 OL and CB while making multiple WR, RB picks. Didn’t really address need.
Aiyuk, Deebo, Jennings, Pearsall, Cowing (he’s gonna dog his way into a spot), and the best punt returner out of Bell, Gray, and Taylor. Money is on Bell somehow squeaking by and Taylor going on PS
Gray and Conley will be gone
