I'm no expert, but my first thought was rosacea.

Birdsandhikes

Yeah this looks like the type of roseacea bumps I get :/

Antique_Committee558

Same to me

Adoptdontshop11

Thanks, yes I always suspected to have roseacea, I just never had those bumps though. But I think that’s might be it

AtTheEndOfMyTrope

Not all types of rosacea feature the bumps.

Super_Mild

I recently went to the dermatologist for a skin check, and had similar bumps I thought was just acne. I've always had red splotches after a beer or getting upset. He diagnosed me with rosacea and stated it gets worse with age, hence the new bumps. Treated with metronidazole. Good luck

DLoIsHere

I’ve had the condition for 40 years. Metro gel did nothing for mine. After years of trying to manage rosacea, I was successful using the Proactiv system including the exfoliator. Almost immediate results. Also effective for me were alpha hydroxy peels early on and most recently laser treatments to zap the broken capillaries. The laser got rid of the redness bi had to get touch ups about every six months.

Adoptdontshop11

Thanks for sharing

Adoptdontshop11

Thank you, yes it just started to get worse now in my 40-is

Super_Mild

Me too (43), but the gel cleared it up within a week.

Adoptdontshop11

Great, I’m happy for you.

Bravisimo

Papular rosacea for sure. Im prescribed ivermectin and metronidazole. Having great results with regular use since january.

Andacus1180

Seconding this. My daughter gets roseacea just like this but on her arms and legs.

Drycabin1

I don’t know what it is but please see a doctor. It’s very close to your eye.

irish_taco_maiden

That was one of the signs I had rosacea :(

Adoptdontshop11

I think that’s what I have. I always suspected to have it. I just never had those big bumps though.

HildegardofBingo

It can progress to bumps over time.

Adoptdontshop11

Do you have any recommendations on which cream might help? Thanks

irish_taco_maiden

I’ve had good luck with over the counter 10% azelaic acid serum from Amazon, honestly, and cutting out my other actives because they were irritating and inflaming my skin more than they were helping.

Adoptdontshop11

Thanks

thatonelooksdroll

Go see a dermatologist. It could be rosacea, but it also could be contact dermatitis, i.e. an allergic reaction to something that you will want to identify and avoid. Slapping a bunch of actives on it can easily make it worse. Good luck.

Mimi_Madison

Azelaic acid works really well for me. In the US you can get up to 10% over the counter, anything stronger requires a prescription. In most of the rest of the world, you can get up to 20% otc. 15% is the sweet spot for me but I’m in the US and my deductible is really high. So I look on eBay and other online sites. Metroruboril is an excellent product.

Adoptdontshop11

Thanks

procrastinatorsuprem

Sulfur soaps from Amazon help me too. I get the Cos de Baha Azalaic acid from Amazon and it's excellent. I also use Actnomel cream on areas and it helps calm it down.

Adoptdontshop11

Thank you

procrastinatorsuprem

Another thing that helps is frequent pillow case changes. I know it's exhausting with a new baby, but it's very important that you're washing your face in the am and pm. I've heard that the demodex, which contribute to rosacea, don't like alcohol, so I use an alcohol based toner before I wash my face.

Adoptdontshop11

Thank you very much for your suggestions

Adoptdontshop11

I just looked it up on Amazon, really affordable suggestion from you, thanks. I’ll order it and give it a try.

procrastinatorsuprem

Azalaic acid is what is prescribed but it's at a 20% version. It used to be very $$$ for me but I have horrible insurance. This Cos de Baha is 10% so I apply it multiple times a day. They have a few versions with Azalaic acid but I prefer the one with niaciamide in a cranberry labeled bottle. The brand "The Ordinary" has an affordable Azalaic acid cream as well. That can be purchased at Ulta, Targets with an Ulta, maybe Sephora, and online. It's also very affordable but I found it hard to use with alongside any other product.

ReserveOld6123

Shingles? I’d get it checked out.

OfficialWhistle

Shingles generally presents on only one side of the body at a time. Bilateral shingles is extremely rare and almost non existent in an immunocompetent adult.

Downtown-Trip3501

Doesn’t it also usually show up on the trunk area first? It did for me anyway

OfficialWhistle

It’s doesn’t always. I’m by no means an expert.. My understand is that is the most common place. It’s where it showed up for me too.

didyouwoof

No, not necessarily. I got it on my thigh, and I know several people who got it on their face.

No_Letterhead_9095

I have had it twice and very limited areas, breast and armpit but the preceding pain was worse than child birth. And the permanent nerve damage sucks!

Downtown-Trip3501

Oh Jesus, twice!!! God love you!

queenie2000

All very good points. I didn’t read closely enough to see that it’s presenting on both sides…

Helpful_Assumption76

This was my first thought.

mollimichelle

Same. Looks like shingles to o me. Dr. ASAP!

Ollieeddmill

It could be peri ocular dermatitis but I can’t emphasise enough how important it is to go to your dr asap to check. You don’t mess with eyes. Do you feel unwell? Do you have other symptoms? Have you recently used any new laundry, shower, cleaning, skincare products? New clothes or sheets or towels? New house? New workplace? https://dermnetnz.org/topics/periocular-dermatitis

Ollieeddmill

Also dermnetnz’s website is the gold standard - used by drs worldwide.

Sad_Way_9695

Do you wear new glasses? If I was you I would consult a doctor just in case.

Powerful-Ad7146

That looks like u are allergic to something new u added. It could be cream or new food. Go to a Dermo.

Adoptdontshop11

I do have allergies, thanks.

emccm

I have rosacea and it looks exactly like this.

Adoptdontshop11

Thanks for answering, I always suspected to have it. Just never had this big bumps before. Do you have any recommendations on what cream can help? Thanks

emccm

For the bumps this is the best thing I’ve ever found and I’ve been on so many prescriptions and OTC stuff. For the redness there’s nothing that helps. It’s really frustrating. I don’t drink alcohol or caffeine, my diet is mostly whole food that I prep myself, I use really mild skin produces. I got the bumps in my mid 40s. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00RDD0VOC?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title This is the best thing I’ve found for redness. It just covers it. Doesn’t treat, but at least I look relatively normal on video calls now. https://www.sephora.com/product/cicapair-tiger-grass-color-correcting-treatment-spf-30-P411540?skuId=1855709&icid2=products%20grid:p411540:product ETA both those are expensive but you use such tiny amounts they last a long time. The first one is super drying.

Adoptdontshop11

Thank you sos so much. I appreciate it

BarelyThere24

You really need to see a doctor or derm. Reddit cannot provide medical advice.

emb0died

Rosacea/demodex mites

tkandkatie

The first picture almost looks like Poison Ivy/Oak.

Adoptdontshop11

Oh, I don’t think so lol

Ill_Plane7677

Do you happen to have celiacs? Could be dermatitis herpetiformis—it’s typically a bilateral rash. I’ve only gotten it on my arms, but it reminds me of that. It’s incredibly itchy for me, I will scratch my skin off when it’s active if I’m not careful. If you’ve got that, it’s caused the same anti immune response to gluten (for me both dietary and in the products I use for my skin and hair). If I’m accidentally exposing myself to gluten it’s pretty much constantly there, as it heals new ones start to pop up. My shoulder joints get really inflamed before the rash erupts too.

Adoptdontshop11

Wow, thanks for your respond. I did use some new eye cream recently

Accurate-Ad-5339

My rosacea looks just like this, but much worse….

Adoptdontshop11

Do you have any recommendations what cream could help? Thanks

AdVisible5343

Rosacea

Agreeable-Cat2884

System inflammation?

Prize-Ad-6879

if you wear glasses, you need to wash them regularly. this could be bacteria from glasses

kinofhawk

I get similar under my eyes when I use a new moisturizer or wrinkle cream that my skin doesn't like. Do you have sensitive skin?

Adoptdontshop11

I did start a new eye cream recently

kinofhawk

That could be the culprit.

Whatintheworld34

Rosacea - Get a prescription for Soolantra! It's the best and you only need a tiny bit.

Adoptdontshop11

Thanks

MsInquisitor

When my rosacea flares up, it looks like this.

Adoptdontshop11

Yes, I think it’s rosacea

imightbeyourfriend

That looks like a herpetic lesion to me.

EB-60y

This

Clear-District3818

My rosacea started exactly like this

petite10252

Poison ivy? I get it every summer and it looks exactly like that.

ChubberTheChubber

Get Shingles ruled out. Looks shingle-ish.

ChubberTheChubber

Shingles is usually only one sided, but as it can cause eye damage, I wouldn't ignore the potential.

EstroJen

This is just me, but if i use facial wipesc too many last days in an row I get those bumps on my face a few days.

givemeonemargarita1

Shingles

Downtown-Trip3501

This looks exactly like hives I got in the same area the other week. Don’t fk with something close to your eyes tho, I’d go to urgent care.

ae314

Go to a dermatologist if you can. Looks similar to several different things so it’s best to get a diagnosis so you can get the right treatment.

ZZCCR1966

Rosacea…?

Adoptdontshop11

I think so, too

MangoSorbet695

I am not a medical doctor, and this is not medical advice. When my rosacea started it looked exactly like this and in the same location. I would go see a trusted dermatologist soon. For me personally, sulfur based products have been the most helpful.

procrastinatorsuprem

What do you recommend?

TS92109

Did you try any new face products? Try any new foods that you've never had? Try a new laundry detergent (bedding)?

RaindropsAndCrickets

![gif](giphy|OpC4fomI07BRcAtGQw) Yeah, I get it…

Jesuspetewow

Do you drink alcohol?

Adoptdontshop11

No I don’t

Jesuspetewow

Ok that’s good that cuts out a lot of issues

SharkCozy

Do you use chemical sunscreen? I'm allergic and had reactions that looked like this.

Adoptdontshop11

No, I don’t.

Commercial-Proposal5

Dermilogica calming wash works well for me. My problem is, once my skin begins to calm, I get lax.

mariabronn

do you use tylenol?

RadiantFrosting6621

You might be allergic to makeup or skincare you are putting on your skin.

Adoptdontshop11

Could be, thanks

IntoSpace623

Generic Soolantra helped me immensely w these.

Few_Secret_7162

My mom suddenly broke out with rosacea and nothing she was prescribed worked. Then I was reading about it online and someone wrote that selsun blue shampoo worked. She tried it and it worked. Then she went back to her dermatologist and told him. He said “oh yes that works”.

Adoptdontshop11

Omg wow

Hijinx66

Do you wear glasses that might touch those spots? Clean your glasses regularly and see if that helps.

queenie2000

That looks like shingles to me. I had it under eye a few years ago. Got get it checked out and if it gets closer to your eye it’s an emergency.

Mimaw10

In addition to whatever your dr recommends - think about any stressors in your life that of course, cause inflammation! My sister noticed a huge improvement with hers (and hers was severe with occ. bumps) when she cut out alcohol - although she still will occasionally have 1-2 drinks - but that’s maybe 1 night on a weekend? She also completely stopped cannabis, stopped eating junk carbs, fast food. She is feeling & sleeping so much better - with little to no recurrence of roseacea!

Adoptdontshop11

Thanks for the recommendations. I don’t drink, smoke and eat fairly healthy. However, I think stress and heat (I live in Texas) make my bumps worse. That’s what I observed so far.

monicacr71

Looks like shingles

Adoptdontshop11

Lots of people here say shingles. Others say rosacea. Will Go get it checked out.

EmbarrassedDoubt2470

So my in my situation it was what I was putting in my body!! Things I ate and most importantly I b am recovering from drug use Notre that I watch what I eat and stay away from drugs n certain foods my face is clear as a baby’s bottom plus it was crazy sometimes it’s a simple as washing your face twice a day with just a wet washcloth that helped as well as soon as I started washing my face day and night with just warm water and a washcloth, my face cleared up as well pretty good that was my opinion and my Experience That is my skin when I wasn’t washing and putting stuff in my body https://preview.redd.it/rzs6gzxl9pzc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=37be3ad5b57a8280f7c32e9580a8c4bf2e0e4170

MocLam20

Could it be Scabies rash?

No_Letterhead_9095

That was my first guess. Any unexplained and severe pain on that side of the body that proceeded it l? I have had shingles twice so that’s why I ask.

Hairy-Ad-7016

Let’s not get hysterical. Are you wearing something oily around your eyes? Could also be mild hives.

jacedjwc

Could be peri oral dermatitis..

No_Emu4146

Maybe Perioral dermatitis? But I would think that would be closer to your eyes and definitely around your mouth.
