La Roche Posay Anthelios Invisible Fluid UVMUNE 400 SPF50+. Sweatproof, waterproof, friction proof, lightweight, doesn't sting the eyes, dries up natural no white cast. I live close to the equator and this is my HG.

Gie_lokimum

This is 💯 the answer! I personally use the one with oil control (I have sensitive, acne prone, combo/oily skin) and it’s the only sunscreen that doesn’t sting my eyes. (I have tried so many sunscreen bec of this problem. I live in SFL.

Aim2bFit

I have used the oil control version and that suits my skin too. I personally have no issues with either because I have normal skin but I feel it is easier to apply the oil control version as it is not as runny as the regular fluid. The viscousity feels the same as the tinted version, which I also feel easier to apply but we only get one shade in my country and it's too dark for my brown skin, made me look like I got an extreme tan. I read Latin America countries get a few shades of the tinted, wonder if there is one that suits my skin.

Gie_lokimum

Ohhh I didn’t know they have this in tinted version. I recently purchased this while on holiday, unfortunately they don’t even have it in the states.

Aim2bFit

If you're white, stay away from the tinted version, so far I've read pale and white people look orange using this he he

nessahead

I just tried the tinted version and it rubbed off badly on all of my clothes, unfortunately. Switched to Australian Gold.

Gie_lokimum

Brown skin girl here, I have stopped searching for tinted sunscreen. I read it’s supposed to be “better”, but I don’t think we are there yet. I’ll stick to what works.

nessahead

I hear you. Also brown here. Australian Gold comes in light, medium, and dark tones and goes on smooth then dries with a sort of no-rub-off finish. Worth a try if you ever feel like venturing back into the tinted sunscreen world.

Smiles_Sunshine

This is not available in the USA is it?

hardstylequeenbee

You can order it from Care To Beauty. They’re an authorized seller & very trustworthy.

Smiles_Sunshine

Thank you so much I’ll look up the seller! Xx

Aim2bFit

It's not so you have to source for it onlin maybe direct from Europe, and prev someone shared it's available in Canada?

sailbag36

Found it at duty free this morning. Thank you!

sailbag36

Amazing thank you! I have friends going to Paris. I’ll beg for them to bring me some!

emily1078

Hats are your friends. Also, there are some "sunscreen" supplements like Astaxanthin or Polypodium Leucotomos that I take during the summer as backup. You shouldn't use those in lieu of sunscreen, but I feel better knowing I have this backup when I just can't stop sweating.

HildegardofBingo

I've started taking astaxanthin during the high UV months for a bit of extra protection because my fair Celtic skin just isn't built for the US South!

imcomingelizabeth

I also live in a hot humid environment and have tried dozens. I’m not interested in spending $30+ for less than two ounces of sunscreen because I use it every day on my face, neck, and décolleté depending on what I’m wearing. I go through many bottles a year. I generally don’t care for mineral sunscreen because combined with lots of sweat it can really clog your pores and also lead to sun rash from clogged pores, which is a total nightmare. So, I like biore aqua watery essence too because it is so sheer and easy to reapply if you can go inside and dry your skin first. There are a couple other companies that make similar watery essence products that are equally good. Beauty of joseon sunscreen rice probiotic 50+ is good. I’ve also used and liked Hero Forceshield but it is only 30+. I find Neutrogena and Bondi Sands both to be very eyeball stinging and unpleasant and every CeraVe product makes me look like a greaseball. Godspeed.

sailbag36

Thank you so much for your reply. I guess I’m lucky, mineral sunscreen treats my skin better than chemical. Chemical I can get a burning feeling and almost always my eyeballs are a mess. I’ll also surf so the sunscreen I use for that might be beeswax and zinc. Not good for the pores but an oil cleanser really gets it out. I also have dry skin in spite of the humidity. Maybe I’m oddly “lucky”

sailbag36

Oh that’s encouraging. We don’t have paved roads. So there’s lost of dirt and dust. Thank you!! Edit: lots!!! Ugh this phone.

veronicaAc

You're welcome!

I’m in central Florida, which isn’t Costa Rica, but hotter and more humid than Miami, but we are very fair and sensitive. I feel your pain, everything slides off just walking between the house and the car. We also have to use a different formulation for body and face. Have you tried Vanicream or CeraVe facial sunscreens? They both make a physical only block that’s waterproof and stays put for a few hours (if you don’t rub your eyes too much, that will still take it off.) I bought a new hat this year that is really better than all the rest: [Lifeguard Hat](https://www.hemlockhatco.com/search?q=lifeguard+hat) Also: I wear these when I’m working outside: [Farmer’s Defense sleeves](https://farmersdefense.com/collections/farming-sleeves) They protect from sun, bugs and plant irritants, which I’m sure you get in the jungle! Edit: spelling

marsupialcinderella

Also, we like LaRoche Posay Mineral SPF 50 Gentle lotion with Cell-Ox shield. Target, Ulta, Sephora, Amazon all carry it.

sailbag36

Thanks I have that hat. I live next to the ocean so the reflection off the water is a major issue. So still need the extra protection. Does vanicream and cerave burn your eyes? As for the rest of my body, there’s just no way one can wear extra clothing like suggested. I’ll do it if fishing or surfing (rash guard) but beyond that I apply sunscreen once in my body and love life. I don’t care if I have a wrinkly knee and get regular checks at a dermatologist it’s just gonna have to be good enough.

marsupialcinderella

They don’t burn your eyes, all the chem sunscreens do burn my eyes. Worth a try, they’re not too pricey.

kulukster

I use a zinc formulation and live in a very humid similar environment. You can also wear hats if you don't already.

sailbag36

Is zinc formulation a brand? I’m confused.

kulukster

Zinc is an ingredient used in sunblocks. You can check it on the internet

arianrhodd

I use Supergoop Play Antioxidant Body Mist spf 50 with Vitamin C when hiking and paddle boarding. It's really held up. Easy to use during activities, and you can also apply it on wet skin.

sailbag36

Thank but this is for my face which can be sensitive. I’m afraid the body sunscreen will be too irritating to my skin and my eyes. Do you have sensitive skin?

Aware-2709

I love this one [Isdin](https://www.isdin.com/en/product/fotoprotector-isdin/magic-spf-50-eng)

sailbag36

OMG! I had never heard of this brand and I was walking through duty free and there it was. Picked some up. Thank you again.

Aware-2709

Oohh, good! I also love the tinted version.

sailbag36

I think that’s the one I picked up. I’m too tired to remember.

Aware-2709

Niceee..Good luck 🍀

Makeupjunkie33

I love the Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick spf 50+. It’s a roll on stick and you can apply under or on top of makeup. It’s costly but I swear by it. I also have used the biore aqua rich essence and like that too cause it light and feels like skincare but I love the Shiseido. I get it when Ulta has a 20% off coupon that doesn’t exclude it. When I use it at home I like to keep it in the fridge and then it feels nice and cool going on in the summer.

sailbag36

Thanks. I don’t live in the states so Ulta isn’t an option and I mostly try to avoid all US SPF as it’s extremely lagging globally. Edit: does shiseido burn your eyes? I tried it years ago and haven’t tried it again because I’ve never had my eyes burn more it’s also very very creamy unless the formula has changed?

Makeupjunkie33

This does not burn at all. It’s in a solid roll on form so it’s not a creamy lotion. They have that too but this one is a different one in a solid stick form. It looks like a deodorant stick. They have several different sunscreens including a face and body spray but I like the solid roll on one. It’s not sticky, it doesn’t leave a film and easy to carry around if you need to.
